In a new-age manual for teachers that I was heavily involved in from 2016-2020, I read a line that said, “upon completion of this teaching you will be imparted with a Legion of helpers…” it brought me to the feet of Jesus immediately and I repented remembering how Jesus had the encounter with the legion of demons and the pigs. I’d say that it’s pretty easy to be imparted with these demons and to willingly invite them in not even realizing the magnitude of what we are doing.
Is this Gary’s son? He’s spectacular. I was watching Gary for years and never seen this and Gary is fantastic and knowledgeable but his son Tyler is actually even better for me to follow! I've heard this commentary that one understanding could be that the demons going into the swine into the lake is a symbol of the end. That the man who believed in Jesus was delivered and made clean. And the swine most probably represents those who rejected the gospel (Do not cast your pearls before the swine ~Matt. 7:6), to which the demons go into and torment (debased mind ~Romans 1:28); and both will run violently into the lake (of fire). But that's just one insight.
Dr. Randall Smith of One Hour One Book has an excellent teaching on Genesis 6 which he links to Mark 5. If you want to know what may have happened to the demons and another reason for the flood. Very good teaching.

You can look it up Tyler, but I think there were Roman legions occupying the area and history will give you evidence of what happened to the Legion posessing that man.
