    I'm glad someone said it, money does buy happiness up to a certain point, anyone who says that is rich enough to solve most problems but then are faced with the problems money can't solve which are much more complex. Still I would definitely be happier if I had enough money to let my mom be treated for her illnesses and let her rest from work

    • @SenatorDodo09
      @SenatorDodo09 10 місяців тому +106

      "money buy happiness" is one of those things that most people just misunderstand. It was never meant for people who dont have enough for basic necessities, it was for already wealthy people trying to find happiness through accumulation of even more wealth. Often these phrases get passed on and the original intention gets lost

      I understand your point, that money buys material security and comfort. But there is meaning to life beyond that, and paradoxically having all your basic survival needs met can lead to a profound feeling of aimlessness because now you are left with time to fill... Doing what, exactly?

      Money can literally increase people's lifespan, and its one of the leading reasons for increased or decreased life expectancy in lic or hics, saying that it doesn't buy happiness is just complete bs, when in fact it can buy years and years of more happiness

      Tbh, I don’t think those moments of,”oh, I have that problem” are that bad with his videos. A lot of them are problems that tons of people have, maybe most people. Unless they’re more specific to a certain disorder, or something like that. The way I see it, he’s not just providing advice to help with problems, it’s help with life in general. If you never realized it’s something you do, I wouldn’t call it a problem, I’d call it room for growth.

    I'd be surprised if Lily reads the comments, but I do really hope she knows she does make a tangible difference in the world through content creation. I can't speak on other people's experiences, but Lily was one of the first people who got me into League and despite what most people's initial reaction to that will be, I still love and appreciate that game to this day. I've gotten closer with friends through that game and found a lot of my passion Id forgotten I could have. But once burnout was setting in, I had like a full year of just feeling really lost because I had no clue what I wanted to do in life, everything was so incredibly terrifying. But after Lily's concert I felt so inspired, understanding just how terrifying and impossible that might've sounded for her 5+ years ago and seeing her confidence having grown.
    I'm still 21, and despite knowing nothing about her personally, from just the small glimpses of creativity and insight Lily's provided from herself, I really have learned that I can be braver but I don't NEED to force myself to change who I am or hide from my feelings. No matter what I do in the future, I want to ultimately just be comfy being unapologetically me. Thanks for even the silly uploads and for sharing the Valo despair, even if it's just an entertaining video it still can have a big impact on peoples' lives. It's too big of a scope for any content creator to truly see

If I could tell myself that like 10 years ago I would of made younger me throw up and laugh, but once I figured out what I want to do, how to do it and make it affordable, life started to piece around my happiness rather than trying to fill a hole. I feel lucky to figure this out for myself, and what works for me won't work for everyone, but it's still routed in appreciation in some form or another.

    Buddhism was right in that sense. To desire is to suffer. To desire for more is to suffer more. To let go of desire (in other words, to accept what you have) is to achieve nirvana (or at least one form of nirvana).
    Inner peace is found in the acceptance of what you are and what you have. Inner turmoil is found in the dissonance between what you are/have and what you think you should be/have.
    You don't deserve to have the world, but you do deserve to have peace. Work towards inner peace rather than external things. Reconciling the concept of the inner self with your actual existence in the world is fine, but don't put yourself in a position where you can never be happy with your achievements.
    For example, plastic surgery might remove a self-perceived flaw, but it might also make other minor flaws more obvious. Stop seeking perfection. Accept that you are good as you are, flaws and all.

    you can tell your kids the pros and cons of something, but resrtricting them will always lead to some kind of resentment. You can always compromise, it shouldn't need to end up in prohibition all the time, unless it's something really dangerous like walking on the side of a building. If the kid wants to stream, you can moderate comments, remove the comments on the videos, control there dms, filter their donations, etc. And if you don't have the time you can hire someone, or find someone willing to do it just because they care.
