I've watched so many videos with instructions on doing eye make up. Your instructions and suggestions are very thorough, especially insightful and helpful! Fantastic - thank you!
Pinching your lower lashes when wet also helps with the smudging, I don’t like my lower lashes to look too long now as it drags my eyes down. Great video, really helpful
I had to stop using an eyelash curler because my eyelashes were coming in little sections. I wasnt pulling or tugging on them, i wasnt curling after the mascara was on. I was very gentle but i was still losing lashes. Ever since i stopped using it, haven't lost any. The curler never helped anyway. I don't like using waterproof either. My eyelashes are short and sparse so ive given up and accepted the fact they will always be that way. Great video by the way :).
WOW...that was the best tutorial I've seen on mascara and liner application since quarantine started in March. I can't wait to try your method of using the Buxom liner...everything I've tried, from Hi-end MJ to drugstore bleeds down to my lower waterline. Thank you so much for showing the methods up close.
Thank you so much for your amazing compliments!!♥️🥰 I truly hope these tips work well for you and that the Buxom liner is the last eyeliner you have to try!
Boy did I need this tutorial!! This was soooo helpful! Your tips are wonderful...can't wait to give this a try tomorrow! And I love the tip about what mascara to use on your lower lashes AND that it is best not to use a black liner on the bottom line... Watching your tutorials has taught me so much about makeup and how to apply it the right way. Plus, I always enjoy watching...you have such a sweet nature and I usually catch these at night, so what a great way to end the day! Thanks again my friend!... Now, I'm clicking on your Sunday Song next!
Wahoo!! I'm SO happy you found these tips helpful and that you continue to enjoy watching my videos🥰 You are such a great encouragement and I truly appreciate your faithful support!♥️
Your eyelashes are killing me, they are gorgeous! Your eyes are so pretty and remind me of Donna Mills when she was younger. She always had the prettiest eyes and I was so jealous of them when I watched Knotts Landing! 😅❤❤
I would have bet money(lots, too!) that you had false eye lashes on! I’m so glad I watched all the way through, love your tips and techniques. It has taken almost a year for all of my eyelashes to grow back after chemotherapy last year. Thank you for sharing this!
Oh yay!! So glad you found my tips and techniques helpful and that you noticed a BIG difference too!🥰 I'm thrilled to know you made it through your chemo treatments💕
What a helpful video! I love playing with makeup! My eyelashes are thinning and I’ll be trying these tips to help them look fuller. I wear contacts as well and have gotten liner on them so your tip of of using liner in the lash line and on only outer water line will be helpful! You are adorable 😊
Great timing on this video as I just threw away my tube of mascara and was looking to try another brand. I definitely will take your tips into consideration. Beautiful eye look!
Hi Sweet Girl, Very lovely! As an added curl to the lash, I hold my curler at the two edges of the metal top curve between two fingers and I hit it with my blow dryer. The heat works as well on the lashes to curl them as a curling iron does on your hair. The curl definitely lasts all day!
Can I ask if you ever put the mascara on your top lash any other way? I've always used the wand on inside & outside of the top lashes. This is to create volume but I've never seen you apply mascara both sides just under & curling them up. Always great tips so stunning. X
Love this! I so needed all of these fun tips! Never thought about it the way you do! Can’t wait to try out all of your tips! As always, thanks for sharing! Be Blessed! ❤️
Hello Shar, you always look so put together! I was told by my opthamoligist not to tight line my eyes. I used to love to do that! I will try the gel and the brush at the top roots like you show cuz it looks very similar! I love your berry looking eyeshadows. Very beautiful! Thanks for the tip and Merry Christmas to you x
Awww, thank you for all of your kind compliments! I’m not surprised to hear your opthalmologist’s advice....the eyes are very sensitive! Hope the gel liner trick works well for you😍 Merry Christmas to you too!🎄
Beautiful!!! I was just watching one of your videos where you are playing the piano and it’s beautiful! How long have you been playing? I want to pick it up again but don’t have room for a piano.
Thank you so much!! I've played for almost 38 years😱 Wow, do I feel old!😘 We live in a small house too...the Roland FP keyboard series have been a wonderful alternative to an acoustic piano!
Thank you so much for these tips. I'm going to experiment with your tips tomorrow. Not sure I can pull it off like you do. By the way i love how blonde your hair is. Thank you for sharing your videos my sweet friend!♥️♥️
I have full confidence in your abilities, my friend!🥰 I have a hair video coming soon to share about my bright blonde color🤗 Always appreciate you watching!!
I love thick eyelashes and all your tips help, I love it cosmetic mascara but I'm currently using "Monsieur Big de Lancome," it makes very beautiful, thick eyelashes. I will try with a primer, thank you my friend for all these tips, you have beautiful eyes
Gorgeous look! Do you use whitening eye drops? I struggle with eye redness ... you never seem to have that issue. I’m trying out different eye drops and would love to know.
Thank you😍 I used to struggle a lot with redness and dry eyes but once I started using the Brush & Lomb Preservative Free Dry Eye Therapy drops, they have worked wonders on my eyes! There are a couple of variations...I'll link the ones I use below. They don't burn AT ALL and even though they don't say they are for "redness relief", I find they keep my eyes pretty clear. My mom has had great success with the Lumify drops. But for those you have to wait 10 minutes before putting in contacts and I don't always have that extra time in the mornings😘 amzn.to/37hmuqi
Beautiful! What is a good waterproof mascara for eyes that tear up from dry eye?🥲I’m not a fan of waterproof mascaras because they tend to clump & also difficult to remove, but now I don’t have a choice. I’m disappointed with my latest product, Too Faced Better Than Sex waterproof mascara. It clumps, doesn’t stay put & the tube is heavy.🤷♀️
Waterproof mascara isn't my favorite either! In my "Waterproof Makeup" video, I used the L'Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof mascara and I felt like it did a great job! Another option....have you tried a tubing mascara like the Thrive or the L'Oreal Double Extend? I cried my eyes out at a movie (Marley & Me) and was wearing the L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara....no mascara smudges whatsoever! And, when you want to remove it, you just use warm water and press your lashes between your fingers, loosen the tubes and pull them off. Might be worth a try!😊
I watched the first video on mascara application and this one. I refocused on application and when I finished my makeup this morning and stepped back...I thought to myself...should I switch to brown...this is so dark!!! But yea I love it! lol
Great tutorial! I love how your application gives you the look of wearing false eyelashes at the edge of your eyes. No matter how much I try I just can’t wear them. I think I’ll definitely try the eyelash primer which I’ve never used before. My issue with liner pencil (maybe it’s the brand I use) is that after a couple of hours (even worse here in summer humidity) I get raccoon lines under my lower lid. Scary looking 😳 Are the liners you used smear proof? Would love to have an update on your makeup classes...how they’re going! And I love the Christmas songs! It’s so wonderful that those beautiful melodies can brighten our spirits in the midst of all this chaos. I remember your video of you playing piano accompaniment to a group of singers you shared once...so much fun! Thanks again for being there for us! 🥰🎄
Oh, you are welcome! Thank YOU so much for watching and for your kindness💕 I definitely think you will see a difference by using a lash primer and also setting your liner with a little powder shadow can really help prevent smearing. I do feel like the liners I use are pretty budge-proof! I am progressing through my makeup classes....so nice that I can do it at my pace because some weeks I just don't have time to do anything and others, I can fit 3 modules in😘 I'm almost done with the 1st course....I'll be sure to update you all soon in a video! So happy to know that the Christmas music is bringing a little extra joy to the season for you♥️🎄
Great tutorial! I agree with you on Mascara on the bottom lashes as well!! I sometimes watch another YT who does mascara on top only but I do find that with the bottom lash mascara it makes the eye look bigger! PS: you haven’t mentioned in your DB what you’re wearing on your eyes - besides mascara and liners 😉😁 - also Ilia Mascara for bottom lashes are fabulous!! There are different bristle spacings on the wand and therefore makes it perfect for bottom lashes... xoxo
Oh I’m so glad that you are a part of the lower lash mascara support group!😆😘 I just checked out that Ilia mascara on Sephora and added it to my cart....the bristles look very interesting and unique! And you are right, I’ve been slacking on the DB info...I used the Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette for this look. I just love that palette!😍
Hi Sharalee I've been using a lash curler and have notice my eyelashes are now short. I'm a young 58yrs young and feeling sad after watching for several months. I've taken the plunge to start wearing makeup again... Now wondering what to do with hardly any eyelashes. Please help x
Buy expensive lash serums, wait four to five weeks, then if they grow out straight or downturned, you must heat curl them like I have to do!!! And then they only stay curled for a few hours. And must wear waterproof mascara and waterproof primer. or else the curl will fall! Trust me...I go through putting on serum every night while cleansing my face, spraying in Rogaine, then putting on my Tretinoin lastly no matter how tired I am!!!!! If you are not blessed with them...you must work hard for them or go without or learn to use falsie's. It's tough being a woman! Not to mention waking up and starting your morning routine all over again for the day!
Oh dear, I'm so sorry! You may want to first give your lashes a break from the lash curler. That could be putting too much stress on the eyelashes, causing them to fallout prematurely. I'm not sure if you use a lash primer or not but both the Origins Underwear for Lashes and the Lancome Cils Booster XL have lash conditioning ingredients to help promote growth and strengthen your lashes. You could also use a lash growth serum but I know those can be a little pricey. Either way, while you wait for the lashes to grow back, you could try using a set of really natural looking false lashes. There are several magnetic lashes on the market now that are super easy to apply. One of my favorite channels to watch is "Hot and Flashy" and I'll link her video about some magnetic lashes that work well for her💕 ua-cam.com/video/dr-JgkojNqU/v-deo.html
SharaLee. Will you be doing any looks with Wayne Goss Pearl Moonstone eyeshadow palette? I hope you do and do 4 different looks. I learn better from watching you than any others. Please consider it because I purchased and love it. I always love watching you do your makeup. I’m learning but it’s still not very easy for me. I suck at eyeshadow. So Frustrating with my older eyes now.
Oh you are so cute😘 I’m sure you do great with applying eyeshadow! I’ve actually not yet purchased the Pearl Moonstone palette....I’m just not sure I will wear those colors often enough to warrant the price tag😆 But since you asked so sweetly, I’ll think about it again😍💕
I’m having trouble with those grays and that blue. With most colors. Goodness. Should not have this much trouble. Lol. Wasn’t when I was younger at all. But then used color just on our lids. I do think you can pull off any color of eyeshadows. Don’t buy it. I’ll keep trying. Thanks.
I bought the L'Oreal primer and it is amazing. I also bought Grandelash Serum and it has really helped my lashes grow long. It's pricey at $65 a tube, but at age 57 and menopause making bald spots in my brows and lashes 🙄 for me it is money well spent.
So happy you are enjoying the L'Oreal primer!! Isn't it amazing what a primer can do?! I actually have a deluxe sample of the Grandelash Serum but haven't tried it yet....sounds like it has worked wonders for you! $65 does seem like a lot but if you were applying falsies all the time or having lash extensions put on, it would cost a LOT more than that!😘
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates Take a little care with Grandelash. It does sting a little if you get it in your eyes. I wipe the wand on the inside of the bottle before applying; it's just like liquid liner and I am loving my results. My lashes now stick up over the top of my Tweezerman curler! Also, I have to slide my glasses down my nose a bit because my lashes brush up against my lenses. Woo! P.S. -- I got the last Buxom Here's My Number liner at Ulta today. Thanks for the black-brown suggestion. I truly love your channel and all of your help. You're helping me age gracefully! ❤
Your tips are so helpful. I have a couple upper eye lashes that point down. I try to catch them in the eye lash curler and get them curled up. But when I add mascara they stick down again. I have tried to curl them with my finger as you demonstrated but they still point down. I have thought of cutting them. Is that the right thing to do. Do you have any advice?
I have had that happen too!! If the lashes are right in the middle of your lashline and really bothersome, you could try cutting them. But sometimes, I’ve found that with a lot of coaxing over a week or two, they can start going in the direction they’re suppose to go😆😘 You could also try using your pencil liner at the base of the lashes to push them up after applying mascara.
I do a couple of cleansing steps and then use coconut oil to remove the remaining eye makeup. I'll link my recent skincare routine video so you can see exactly how I do it😊 ua-cam.com/video/8IK-8GfZGx8/v-deo.html
Thankfully, no. However, I'd recommend not going all the way to the inner corner with your liner and topping it with a little eyeshadow to help keep it in place😘
What mascara would you recommend to someone with sensitive eyes please. I'm a new subscriber and absolutely love your channel. Please help and ty in advance.
Thank you so much for subscribing!💖 My go-to mascara for sensitive eyes used to be from BareMinerals. However, they discontinued it and I haven't tried their new one yet. I actually think the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara might be a good option. Since it's a tubing mascara, it won't drift into the eyes during the day. Also, it is ophthalmologist approved and recommended for sensitive eyes😘
HELP I have a problem with my eye lashes drying out after I apply mascara which leads to me pulling them out. I tried using Almay, to certain covergirl to maybelline. I use waterproof, could that be the problem? #2 What do you use as your Makeup Remover?
Waterproof mascara can definitely be hard on your lashes. So I would try changing that. Secondly, I'm not sure if you've ever tried using a primer but that can really help condition the lashes before mascara. A good drugstore option is the L'Oreal Voluminous Primer. As for makeup remover, I'll link my most recent skincare routine to show you the steps I do. But to sum up, I like to start with an oil based makeup remover (BareMinerals is my favorite) and then wash that off with soap. To remove the remaining eye makeup, I use coconut oil (which is very good for conditioning the lashes as well)🤗 ua-cam.com/video/8IK-8GfZGx8/v-deo.html
Welcome!💕 I actually don't use any kind of lash serum. However, the mascara primers I use do provide conditioners to the lashes and I feel like they help with lash growth and retention😘
The pencil liner I use at the beginning is the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen. The other liners I use and recommend in this video are listed in the description box below the video😊

Sharalee. Your eyes look amazing. Guess I should do a few of these steps even though I wear fashionable glasses no more contacts for me after not being able to get one contact out. The contact was lost thought it fell in sink. Couldn’t find it went to bed woke up saying what is that in my eye that feels weird. Voila there was the contact. No more contacts for me after my episode. Yuk. Guess I better get my eyelash curler out for starters and apply mascara. My permanent eyeliner is already there A long comment ha ha. See you tomorrow. at the piano 🎹.
Oh my goodness!! I don’t blame you wanting to avoid wearing contacts after that ordeal!! But you are one lucky lady to not have to bother with eyeliner! Just a quick curl of the lashes, pop on mascara and you are ready to go! Hope you are having a great week, sweet lady😍♥️
You are beautiful with and without makeup. Your bottom lashes are longer than my top lashes! So, I very seldom use mascara on my bottom lashes. It also irritates my contact lenses. You have an amazing range of cosmetics in the USA. We seem to have a very limited range in SA compared to the USA and the UK.
Yes!! That is when Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil comes to the rescue! After the initial cleansing of my face, I use the coconut oil and then tissue off the remaining mascara....works wonders!😘
Not always but personally, my favorite is a high end mascara....the IT Cosmetics Superhero. What I've found is higher end mascaras typically add higher quality ingredients and sometimes even include ones that will help with lash growth and conditioning😘
#sharaleesboxofchocolate Have you ever tried Seint Beauty? It’s wonderful. I’ve sold all my foundations and only use Seint. Would you do a video of Seint beauty? You’ll love it 🥰
Hi Precious Sharalee...You have Beautiful lashes...I always think your lashes set the eye makeup..Beautiful look!! You know I love mascara but am dealing with the tremors which I’m still persevering with my mascara...lol..lol..I just had my eyebrows tattooed again hoping that it takes bc of sun damage...the shape looks good...too hard to draw them in..but I have the problem of blonde eyebrows!!! I was dying them but alas dye may end up my nose!! Ha ha ha not really but maybe in my hair...haha...pride is a horrible thing ..lol Enough waffling...thank you for sharing your routine!! Always LOVE watching You work your talent!! Blessings & Love Marc 😘🇦🇺🇦🇺😘🇦🇺. Praying that All Will Be Revealed & that the Lord WILL HAVE HIS WAY FOR THE GREAT NATION OF AMERICA!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oh thank you SO much, sweet friend for your amazing compliments and powerful prayers!! I love that you are still persevering with mascara and doing what makeup you can! Yes, hopefully your eyebrow tattooing will be a great success! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to do that😘 Always a pleasure to have you watching my videos and sharing your kindness and love♥️
Wonderful tips! If I didn't know better, I would think you have fake lashes on. They are gorgeous, as is the rest of your make-up. Also, love your sweater! Oh by the way, I always open my mouth. Not sure why, but I think you have to! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Oh I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one with my mouth hanging open as I apply my mascara!😂 Thank you for all of your sweet words, my friend! You are such a great encouragement to me💗

So happy to know that the Christmas music is bringing a little extra joy to the season for you♥️🎄
Great video
What state are you in? Love your hair!🥰
Thank you!😍 I live in Southern California🌴
One of my favorite channels to watch is "Hot and Flashy" and I'll link her video about some magnetic lashes that work well for her💕

If I spent this much time on my lashes I’d never go anywhere.
But sometimes, I’ve found that with a lot of coaxing over a week or two, they can start going in the direction they’re suppose to go😆😘 You could also try using your pencil liner at the base of the lashes to push them up after applying mascara.
thanks great tips
Excellent!
What do you use to take off your eye makeup?
I do a couple of cleansing steps and then use coconut oil to remove the remaining eye makeup. I'll link my recent skincare routine video so you can see exactly how I do it😊

Beautiful!
Sending Love, Hugs, Prayers and Kindness!🎅🎄❤️
Thank you so much! Lots of love to you too, my friend♥️🎄
Is there a certain brand of almond oil you use?
I love the NOW Solutions brand. It's high quality but inexpensive😊
Does the application along the tight line and water line ever end up "melting off" into your tear duct? I've had problems with that in the past.
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates thank you for your kindness sweetie. I will definitely be checking into the mascara you recommended. God bless you!!!❤😘🙏💙
Hi Sharale. Very look always 😍🌹
have thick salt n pepper brows
To remove the remaining eye makeup, I use coconut oil (which is very good for conditioning the lashes as well)🤗

I'm new. Can't find if you use lash serum. If so, please share your brand.
Welcome!💕 I actually don't use any kind of lash serum. However, the mascara primers I use do provide conditioners to the lashes and I feel like they help with lash growth and retention😘
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates You are blessed with great lashes that curl !!!
what eyeliner are u using?

Thank you so much!♥️🥰 You are right....we are spoiled with the wide variety of cosmetics available to us in the US!
Beautiful!! Now, how do you remove your mascara? That’s the worst part about wearing it! 😂
Yes!! That is when Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil comes to the rescue! After the initial cleansing of my face, I use the coconut oil and then tissue off the remaining mascara....works wonders!😘
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates Good to know and I will give it a try! ❤️
Could you give me the name of your lipstick you have on sweet lady ?
Hello Jan, she wrote in the description below. Have a Nice day. 👋
I just used the ColourPop Lippie Liner in "Beeper" and the HUDA Lip Strobe in "Angelic".
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates thank you sweet lady
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates where do you fime them ?
It is very pretty lip stick
Is expensive mascara best?
Ha ha ha not really but maybe in my hair...haha...pride is a horrible thing ..lol
Enough waffling...thank you for sharing your routine!!
You are such a great encouragement to me💗
💖
What colors are your eyeshadows and lipstick color today?
I used the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette on my eyes and my lip combo is the ColourPop Lippie Pencil "Beeper" + HUDA Lip Strobe "Angelic"😊
Don’t much like the shimmery eye shadow on the inner corner of the eye
I feel as we get older less is more......
The reddish eye shadow looks very artificial. Be better with a more shadow or grey/brown color shadow.
