ugh I can't pick one, Serration is also on my list. In the metal/hardcore world another few are: Abrupt Decay, The Callous Daoboys, END, Fange, Pupil Slicer
Great list. Not a bad record on their and the Serration album was really slept on this year by a lot of people. My favorite album of the year was Svalbard's "The Weight of the Mask".
Hey man, i just recently discovered your channel and seeing as you like a lot of this old school metalcore sounding stuff, including Serration, i really think you should check out the EPs & albums by Adrienne, Since My Beloved, Balmora, Deadset, Azshara, Killing Me Softly, A Mourning Star, & Long.Way.Down. Theyre all bringing back the Zao/At The Gates-core visceral kind of sound. I guarantee youll love them.
I think I would be right there with you with the Cultist and Veil of Maya releases, and Vacant Blood is in my REGULAR rotation. Some honorable mentions for me were the new In Flames, the new Cannibal Corpse, and the new Cattle Decapitation
More power more pain is so exceptionally personal in this day and age. Whilst most metalcore bands sing about despair, pain and anything as long as it makes a good scream, this album is more about the person going through these things (the way I see it) and I hope so much others will be inspired by this. It feels like a person expressing themselves not just through the singing style but also the lyrics, something we find far too little in modern metal. (or I'm just not looking hard enough, who knows)
What is your favorite album this year?
The Ongoing Concept - Again
@@handsomeawkward1822 probably the most creative band in the world.

Serration is a band that will eventually blow up.

Seconding A Mourning Star, the best dudes

Maybe next year I'll count down my favorite death metal albums
100% with you on Gideon. First time I saw them live at that Norma Jean show I’ve been hooked
So much energy!

I completely agree
Man, there were a few decent albums this year, but my top album would have to be True Power by I Prevail.
Great record!
