- This video will show you how to fix the error code 109...What is happening is the sensor is not communicating with the motor to return the wiper blades/felt piece to the "home" position. Tech support is great and they helped out big time. I hope this video helps you out as well!

Keep your Roland BN20a under warranty! Use only manufacturers ink! They have good reps to help you when your machine goes bad😎
Thanks man, this wasn't *exactly* my issue but going thru this helped solve it. It was actually that when I replaced the capping station I didn't pull the drain tubes out taught enough out of that area directly underneath the capping station and they were bunching up and (I think) interfering with the spring mechanism and causing it to go up to early and it was preventing the head from going all the way over to the right.
Thanks for this mine is out of warranty and this fixes it. I don't have that little reset button on mine though. I just put it in the "V" and it worked not adjusting afterwards once it comes on.
Anytime!
thanks Men !!! your are an angel !!!
You are more than welcome!
Thnx! Helped alot. Got it back to work again!
Well, it resolves only for a short period of time.
Try checking THE GEAR on the motor connected with the felt and wiper to turn around.. that was the problem in my case!
The scraper, underneath, had to replaced because it was bent.
Good luck everyone!
Good job bro it was very helpful
Thanks
Hello - did you get issue fix by tech support? I just got same issue thx
Yes! I eventually got tech support to permanently fix the issue. This is a quick fix but surely is annoying. I renewed my warranty as well because of this but apparently its a motor issue
Its THE GEAR connected on the motor.
What should I do if I put it in home position, but it keeps going back the the wrong position?
try to keep it in that sweet spot...at the end of the day its a TEMPORARY WORKAROUND...If you have the warranty id suggest you get it fixed soon. if you dont then you can keep rigging it up but its annoying after a while because it will beep
@ thank you
Did tech support come and do anything to permanently fix it? Mine just started doing this too, but I'm not able to get it to reset and of course I have an order to print for tomorrow before I head out of town...smh
Yes! Tech support was amazing. It was a gear attatched to the motor that slipped off
Im having this issue right now with my bn20a. I tried contacting roland tech support (no idea when and if tech can look at it - still under warranty (15months old, bought brand new). Ive tried following the steps in the video, but still having no luck clearing the code :(
Ahh man! Sorry to hear that! Luckily tech support will resolve it 100%- keep tinkering with it for sure
@@shastylesdesign what were you pushing when the wiper was moving ? was is the small metal tang connected to small brass spring ?
Did you figure out the problem? I just had this issue and solved mine the gear on the wiper motor comes loose. @JDMG13B
If this machine sits for a year is it toast?
I’m not sure but I wouldn’t advise it- make sure you have extended warranty for sure because replacement parts are EXPENSIVE
Mine did this today. How was the follow up?
As long as you have a warranty you will be fine! They work fast! This is a quick fix to stop the annoying beeping lol
@shastylesdesign Thanks. I called tech support but they haven't called me back yet. I haven't touched the machine. I figured I better wait til I hear back
They called pretty quick but didn't give me anyway to get it running. Said someone would have to come look at it.
@@lbrooks3057 yea this method from the video will get it running (until the next beeps lol) it got me through a major project
How did you fix the lines ?
Keep your warranty - I eventually got a repair man to fix it
My yellow is printing green , I do have more cyan in than yellow at this time could this be the issue ?
@@alejandradiaz3092 no clue unfortunately - do you still have a warranty
I see 3 screws where are the other 2
I cannot reach the other two screws. . I do see some small ones at the top but they are totally unreachable for me. They sit under the bar and there is no way I can get at them. Newer model, so maybe they have done this to keep people from trying to do stuff themselves.
@@coneheadjill do you have the BN20a model or the bn 20?
@@shastylesdesign BN20a
@@coneheadjill wow- yea maybe they made it harder to access smh
@@shastylesdesign Support has told me I have to replace the motor. No skin off my nose, it's under warranty and he had never heard of your method, which I have seen a number places on youtube.
@@coneheadjill yea most definately get that motor replaced. This is only a temporary fix to get that one job through… I eventually got my motor replaced under warranty. The warranty is DEFINATELY needed
Mine is not printing she do a Black line an them nothing more
Is it still under warranty?
@@shastylesdesign nope is more them a year Now
ouch - im not sure how to fix that...see if you can get an extended warranty because its costly to repair@@eduardopatino7923
@@shastylesdesign thanks men i hope the tech gay comming soon. 🤞
@@eduardopatino7923 i need a straight tech im not sure needing a gay tech would help my printer
I SEE THE 3 SCREWS YOU TOOK OUT BUT WHERES THE OTHER 2. YOU TOOK OUT.
It’s attatched to the metal plate at the top. I hope that helps you
Thank you
