- In collaboration with @CHVRCHES OBNE is proud to present Screen Violence - Stereo Saturated Modulated Reverb-an effects pedal inspired by the sounds of the acclaimed album of the same name. In this production of Dan Explains It All, Dan describes in granular detail how the device works, with the help of Martin, Lauren, and Iain of CHVRCHES. Brady accompanies with a Black Bobbin JM, Roland Juno 60, and Yamaha DX-7, and at one point we plug in a Meris Polymoon to further illustrate the stereo nature of Screen Violence.

@CHVRCHES are Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. Since their 2013 debut The Bones of What You Believe, the Glaswegian band have seen global success, critical acclaim and are considered pioneers of modern synth-pop. Their latest record, last year’s Screen Violence, included the singles ‘He Said She Said’, ‘Good Girls’ and ‘How Not To Drown’, a collaboration with one of the band’s musical heroes and rock icon The Cure’s Robert Smith.
Can we all just agree that Dan did a great job of explaining it all here?
Just one time, I need you guys to put Dan in a suit and call the video “Daniel Explains It All”.
“Salutations! We welcome you to Daniel Explains It All. Today’s topic of discussion is Screen Violence.”
@@danpechacek3855 YEEEEESSS
Easily the best pedal explainer videos on the web.
I would love to watch Dan explain almost any pedal
this might be an odd compliment but this might be the most on brand & creative use of at-home/zoom interview footage I've seen
Thank you, that was a fun challenge.
Thank you so much, This pedal is incredible guys! all of you did an amazing job!! in headphones how the Stereo spread was demonstrated and explained was really beautiful. I can't wait to welcome it to its new home :D I def got one! Love the production of these vids too, great stuff Seth!
Clearly we don't check the youtube comments enough. Thank you Joan!
I want to live in a universe where Dan explains it all.
You guys are too fucking cool. The presentation is so well thought out and streamlined in every “explains it all” vid and it parallels the product performance. Truly artists in every aspect. Screen Violence increases in beauty as it’s sound increases in entropy.
wow, thanks you. cheers!
You all so clearly are enjoying what you're doing and sharing with the world, keep up the beautiful things
Thanks Zachary, will do!
you had me at "Mid Forward Overdrive"
Fantastic work as always
The demo is so good!! Such a versatile pedal
Beautiful.
Ordered. 🖤
I didn't even wait for the full demo, I just refreshed the website till iit appeared and ordered the whole package.
This video is so well done. Geeeeez
🙏🏼
just damn cool.
This pedal is inspirational. Not only for playing, but for designing pedals as well. Good work, team. 💚❤️
Thanks v much for saying so
mono to stereo part i was expecting pure imagination on the high end. it didnt happen and now it’s literally bothering my brain. great job guys!
This might have to be the most awesome film on a pedal I have ever seen.
JHS sent me here and I'm staying.
Thanks! Come on in, the pixels are warm.
Great demo!
Thanky thanky
Can’t help but feel like this pedal was made for me
When I briefly worked at Uitar Center, they were trying to get us to sell a distortion+delay and I asked if you could change the order of the effects and the old heads scoffed. Now they're dead.
damn
Is that Next Exit by Interpol that Brady is playing?? 🤔 amazing walkthrough vid, almost certainly going to have to pick this one up
I´ve never wanted anything this much in life, can i pre-order now? pls.
🖤
Oh I'm havin that.
This is gonna live on my desk after my Moog Grandmother and I can’t wait to get it wired up
that will be a fun desk party
Never enjoy a pedal demo so much
That's the goal, thanks Xue
I feel like this pedal would be perfect for Mogwai, too (Brady's guitar playing sounds like Mogwai !)
we
LFGOOOOOO
LFO but make it GO
Love what I've heard here! However I can't seem to get them anywhere in Europe. Shipping and import tax don't really make it an option for a direct OBNE order. Is this something that will be addressed or is it a OBNE exclusive?
Currently only available at Chvrches shows and oldbloodnoise.com
It's like another dimension in making pedals. Or I don't know...
Is the distortion analog or digital? Thanks 🙏🏽
Anyone?
Anyone?
Would be awesome if this had MIDI!
You should do a live feed from Cuba and call it, 'Dan Has Some 'splaining To Do'... jus' sayin'...😸
