What is a Parallel Multi-Modulator? Dan's glad you asked. Let him explain the ins and outs of Visitor, then hear it in-context in the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Presents Visitor video, then find Visitor at oldbloodnoise.com and participating retailers around the globe.
Visitor has three different primary modulation options (tremolo, chorus, and phaser) and two parallel secondary modulation options (tremolo and chorus), Visitor immediately inspires new sounds in a single pedal format. Further strangeness occurs with the delay offset of the secondary modulation and the interaction of the secondary rate and the primary depth.
    Visitor features:
Primary modulation switchable between tremolo, chorus, and phaser
Secondary modulation switchable between tremolo and chorus
Rate and Depth controls for primary modulation
Secondary knob to simultaneously control depth, rate, and delay offset of secondary modulation
    Regen control for master feedback
    Master mix control
    Expression control over Secondary knob
Relay bypass switching and standard 9VDC center negative power

This was super helpful! I've had the Visitor for a few months and got some really nice tones out of it. But it was mostly by trial and error. I actually didn't realize that the signal flow was parallel and the Regen button was a big mystery. It all makes a lot more sense now. Great video, great pedal!

These are great. Love this kind of simple and straight forward approach to explaining. This pedal is amazing. I'd love to run two together.

  • @kevotheclone

That's an amazing amount of functionality and musicality from such a small pedal. Normally you'd think that a multi-modulation pedal might have completely separate depth/rate/mix knobs for each mod effect, but instead of going the usual route, you've created the primary/secondary interaction or depth/rate and that delay offset… unexpected, surprising, and ambient-coolness at no extra charge!
With the Garrett Young artwork and the washy sounds, Visitor feels like a cousin of Dweller, gotta get a Visitor and Signal Blend the two.
    Keep pulling those strings! 🎈

That's great to hear, thank you. You are right about the Dweller connection, Garrett Young did the art for both projects. If you read the comic that comes with Dweller, there's a panel that directly foreshadows Visitor.

When I lived in Austin there was a store that would let you rent up to three pedals a month and change them out as you pleased. I’d never heard of Old Blood Noise Endeavors at the time, but their pedals were consistently the ones I didn’t want to take back or exchange. Genuinely new sounds that were absolutely weird and useable. God bless ‘em.

That’s a really clever way of making modulation more adventurous. Also, the way you grouped all of the secondary controls on one knob is fantastic. Seems counterintuitive at a glance, but it’s actually really streamlined and effective. It has the added benefit of letting me appreciate the artwork even more, which you knocked out of the park as always. Super nice!

It's hard to use quality components and put out " cheap" pedals.EHX ,for example, still produces original ideas, and useable formats, but in order to stay within a price point, the sound quality suffers. The Canyon would be a classic IF it were built to higher specs; I think it depends on what you've come to expect out of a pedal, sound quality wise.American labor also isn't cheap.

Set the Haunt's Fuzz and Gate to max, and set the Mix at 50%, then play with different sounds on the Visitor- Tremolo/Tremolo is a fun place to start. You'll hear both the clean instrument and the heavily fuzzed sound both getting modulated by Visitor. Lots of flavors to explore there.
