Woodturning - Big and Burly Black Locust
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 тра 2022
- In this woodturning video, I will transform a big and burly black locust wood log into an incredible looking footed wooden bowl. I decided to wood turn this piece of log into a live / natural edge bowl (is a bowl that uses the natural contour of the bark side of a log as the top rim edge of the bowl) to enhance its natural beauty. I sanded up to 240 grit then finished with some Rubio Monocoat what really pops the grain and also smells amazing.

Круто.
Nice work. What was the tool used to grind away the bottom rim?
Thank you. It is a proxxon long neck grinder
Great looking bowl, that burl is nice. Couple questions if I may?
1. What's that small jar of stuff you finished with? Tried hitting pause to see, but the pause signal covered the label.
2. Where do you get your logo coins/medallion?
The bottle said Rubio Monocoat.
Yes Rubio Monocoat Pure. Coins are from Von Hanke on etsy
That's beautiful David and a excellent job turning it!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you 🙂
@@DavidsWoodturning You're welcome!
Dave, where do you get your ID emblem with your makers mark?
Check out von hanke on etsy
Isent Black locust the wood with way to many good advantages?
Good question something I will need to look up
We watched a short video, but how long did it really take to make that?
3-4 hrs from start to finish
Yeah, man, duct tape. But can I make a suggestion? Vise-Grips.
I am not sure how vise grips would help here 🤔
What make/model is this lathe?
Axminster AT406
Beautiful piece... I would've preferred to see it with resin tho
