Hi, you helped me out a lot! My Reolink E1 zoom had the same problem. It was harder to take apart than yours. I had to pry open the back sphere half. I tried the paperclip method you described to see if the ground was shorted, and it powered up just like you said! Was using it as a baby monitor, and my 4 year old got a hold of it. Now, I need to get the tools to solder it. I dont have a microscope, or a small enough iron. These leads are tiny!!! I learned that the circuit disables PoE if there is a short in the dc jack
I cannot figure out how to get mine apart. I've been replacing barrel jacks with USB C on a bunch of electronics, and decided i want to do that to one of my E1 Pro cameras - but mine doesn't immediately come apart like yours. Oh well, maybe i'm going to end up breaking the shell a bit...
I pushed a paperclip into the small hole under the camera lens thinking it was the Reset button, not the small hole that shows up when the camera is rotated all the way up. Damaged something inside but couldn't figure out how to get it apart. You showed that the lower section is just snapped together and it looks like there is a screw now accessible to take the top apart. Great video!! Now I have a path forward to disassemble it to see what I did. What's behind that hole? If it's the microphone, I'll just leave it alone. Thanks!!
Would anyone know how to physically fix the wireless side of this model? My unit does not work on wifi, it's NOT a wifi issue, it's NOT a "do a hard factory reset issue". It's a "the wireless is physically broken" issue on the device. It powers up and works perfectly fine via a network cable. Is there anything on that little circuit board that could possibly be replaced that might fix this wifi functionality? If not then I'll just keep this for a day when I can permanently use it with wired connection. (Where I want to use it is very difficult to get a cable to it.)
I have a similar problem how can I get it fixed? Where do I go and submit a repair request, I’ve had it for over a year. Idk if they will fix it or if be cheaper just to buy a new one
I recently moved and lost my power cord to my Reolink cameras. I can’t figure out what size the barrel connector is. It’s so small. Do you know where I can find a new one? Or what type/size of charger I’m looking for?
I'm having an issue with my WiFi only version, the company says they are sending me a different model due to not built anymore, stil wandered if I could fix it as it doesn't connect to any WiFi for some unknown reason
Hi, I have a Reolink argus PT with the solar panel and the camera just stopped working the battery charge up and the green light comes on but the camera will not turn on at all, what can it be?
What part of the camera is the microphone? As im wondering if it could be replaced for a better quality microphone as the default one is terrible on this thing.
Hi Jonathan, sounds like an interesting mod.. the mic would be in the upper section where the camera is located from what I recall. If I am able get ahold of another one I’ll make a quick video showing the location. 👍
I realize that your post is 10 months old and you likely have sorted things out by now but this is for anyone else wondering the same thing. I believe the problem is not the microphone but rather a noise filter that Reolink includes with the firmware. I have the same camera and it sounds like it is submerged in water when listening to the audio. Reolink has recently added the ability to turn the noise filter on or off through their client or app on some of their outdoor cameras where it makes more sense but not on the E1 Pro.

Will it connect over the internet to monitor from work, or will it have to be within the home wifi distance?
