This is my city and I think this is the BEST travel video on UA-cam about Philadelphia. It is very well organized and beautifully photographed. It gives you an authentic feeling for this world class city. There are a few minor historical errors, however .... 0:29 the city was first officially founded by William Penn in Oct. 27, 1683. not 1701 .... 6:39 this place, however was first settled by the Swedes in 1638 as part of the colony of Nya Sverige (New Sweden) before it was taken over by the Dutch so you see European settlers were here two generations or almost 50 years before William Penn. It is Logan Circle, not Logan "Square" 9:44. Sorry to be nitpicky, but I was a member of the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides for several years. Otherwise it was a great video. Too bad they didn't include the famous Art Museum, the Rodin Museum, and Fairmount Park.
Logan Square was one of the Cities five original squares designated by William Penn, it became Logan Circle, after the addition of the Swan Fountain. Center Square which was the largest of the original five Squares, is currently the site of City Hall.

I'm From Central Jersey Shore ⛱️!! My Mother Family Are From Greater Philadelphia, Pa. 🏙️!! It's Nothing Like Philadelphia. The City Of Brotherly Love ⭐✨ ⭐⭐.
It’s always funny to hear “downtown” Philadelphia. We refer to that area as Center City. Nice video, glad you enjoyed the city! Come back for Reading Terminal and the Art Museum, Boathouse Row and Schuykill Trail
Center City, as you may know, is the original city as laid out by W. Penn. The city today came to be by joining the original and Phila. County in 1854.
We don't need Philadelphia to be like Manhattan! Let's keep Philly .. Philadelphia!!! If you know what I mean! We have our own culture! City of Brotherly Love!!
Jeff I appreciate you checking out Philly and showing everything it has to offer. Maybe next time check out the Reading Terminal Market and the Rocky steps at the Philadelphia Art Museum. Also, get yourself a real cheesesteak next time with wiz and onions, no ketchup! Lol
Come to South Philly. Passyunk square is my area and it's filled with restaurants and bars. Also There are a lot of great eat in bars in the same area if you map it.
It turns out that Philadelphia is a beautiful city, clean and tidy & there are no homeless people in the city center. It looks comfortable, safe & calm. Compared to other big cities in America which are dirty & filled with tents of homeless people everywhere. Not as scary as what is reported about drugs & human zombies. hanging around, I think Philadelphia is much better. I like this city.
Wildly Philadelphia is the poorest of the 10 largest cities but it does not have tent cities. There are homeless in Center City but they're not as obvious as they are in LA or San Diego. There is the awful drug situation in the Kensington section. But any visiter can avoid that completely.
You certainly should have turned your camera over to the other side of Broad to view the Union League building that I caught a glimpse of...and a bit more on your side as you passed the Univ. of the Arts....formerly, at another site, PCA..the Philadelphia College of Art.
Yes downtown Philly is good for walking, you have everything downtown, restaurants, museums, shops, clothing shops, EVERYTHING There's many great and affordable lodging options right in the heart of the city and of course Airbnbs
That is NOT the Philelphia Museum of Fine Art. It is the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art....both my parents attended that art school in the late 1930's.
Philly was founded by William Penn Jr. in 1682, not 1701. 1701 was the year William Penn migrated back to England. Before he left he produced The Charter of privileges which codified the rights to free exercise in religion to ALL in the Colony. As long as you weren’t an atheist. The city was not established in 1701.
Since you mentioned New Yorkers, I just have to say, New Yorkers have absolutely RUINED all that was good about Philly. It lost most of its charm, and all of it's affordability. There are New Yorkers who have moved to Philly, kept their jobs in NYC and commute daily!! That's a 2 hour commute for those who don't know. Philadelphians don't get paid what New Yorkers do, so true Philadelphians are getting priced out of their own neighborhoods and some had to leave the city completely because of NYC folks.
There's 2 sides of Philadelphia you weirdo you can't put Philadelphia in a box like the entire city is dangerous. Smh Philadelphia is very beautiful feels like your in Europe in some areas of the city
We do have our share of crime - like all big cities around the world - but we are not as bad as Baltimore and much safer than places like St. Louis, New Orleans, and other cities in the US.
My favorite city in the Northeast.
Mines too.
My favorite city in the world
NYC Boston and Washington DC has left the chat

Yes!! The Swedes were here first... in Southeast PA, South Jersey, and Delaware. Thanks for bringing that up.

Wiz is for tourists, sharp provolone is where it’s at. A Philly Roast Pork is even better yet.

Philly has more skyscrapers between Beijing, London, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong & New York City in the near future!🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙
New Wilmington Pennsylvania is a beautiful small town in PA also!

You forgot Germantown , Chestnut hill , Fairmount Park , West Mt airy , there's a lot of history in Philadelphia
I live here
Someone was on the ball to have the statues in a place you could wander around. Franklin might be tickled to hear he was a Quaker.

Why is there a 90-minute line. for the Liberty Bell. You'd think they'd just have it so viewers could walk by real quick.

A Filadelfia ( Philadelphia) só é bela e rica no centro da cidade. Na periferia é pobre e descuidada. ( brazilian portuguese language)
Actually the DC metro area is slightly bigger...
