Here Su performs a tribute to one of the biggest stars from the 1930's and 40's - Gracie Fields. The song is "Sally" and comes from the Royal Variety Performance possibly 1986.
A totally underrated singer and actor, for all the amazing performances she has given us over the years Su deserves to be made a Dame……real, genuine talent deserves at least that recognition and reward…..
The best impression of Gracie was done by Joan Savage on radio 20 years ago, Joan was a frequent guest on Radio 2 Friday night is music night, but Sue is almost as good.
This is from 1985 not 1986. The "coming up next" announcement is the main clue as 1985 was when Pollard, Collins and Shaw appeared in a RVP together. It's easy to think it was from 1986 because that year was themed on the 50th anniversary of BBC TV and had similar tributes to the early TV stars which DID include Su Pollard but she teamed up with Ruth Madoc to do Gert and Daisy while it was Marti Webb who did Gracie. 1985's theme was film musicals and this was part of the British Years section.
Which is why Gracie was an international star and the highest paid entertainer of her day, capable of singing anything including opera and whose career lasted decades across stage and film, at one time bringing parliament to a halt so they could hear her first radio broadcast. And Su Pollard is a C-list actress who has to take gigs trying to impersonate her. lol.
Brilliant Sue, you are such a wonderful singer. Please keep on singing

Who would’ve thought a daft chalet maid could sing like this. She should have made her career as a singer.
This is most definitely Sue Pollard and not Marti Webb whose impersonation of Gracie is not as good as that of Sue Pollard.
Much better voice than Gracie Fields ever had
