I have been one of the fortunate few to have been exposed to the pleasure that a maxi provides. I’d rather, as one up, ride my 03 silver-wing than any heavy clutched bike on the market today. Let them laugh at me while I feel only pity for them, for they do not know.
As a returning rider I been looking at bikes of less than 900cc and 600 lbs. the Silver wing and the Suzuki Burgman 650 is being considered if I can find one close enough to me.
I have a 2003 red Swing, love it. That bike is so easy and so much fun to ride. It's big enough to be sturdy in the wind but grooved pavement makes me pucker a bit.
I just looking into a honda silver wing. My question would be, since the tires are so small, how is the ride on bad hwy surfaces in upper speed? I would commute on the Hwy (four lane hwy 70 mph speed limit) for about 16 miles. Bussy traffic in the morning and evening. I believe that the silver wing keeps up with the rolling traffic. But how is it on not so good hwy asphalt? How is it with side winds? How noisy is it behind the shield? Thank you
In my limited experience with the swing it has performed very well at 70 mph. The smaller wheel size has proven not to be a factor. As far as the noise behind the glass, it is easy on the ears. As far as keeping up with traffic it blows the doors off traffic Lots of power.
Hi my friend i have the same scooter and the only problem that i had whith this is the sunpesions front and back. They are to soft .I replace them with MUPO springs front and HAGON shocks back and now the scooter is very very good on the Hwy .Also i want give to you an advice.Dont change the windsheeld with a bigger one ! If you do this the front wheel lift up on the road on the Hwy and you loose your steering.Cheers from Greece!

Hey man thanks for the RIDE> Just bought a 2006 Swing yesterday 42,000 miles on odometer. Talk about power its a beast ,Need a new seat, this bike was not cared for very well wind screen looks like it has not been cleaned in 10 years but the price was right I am over here in Toronto,Canada I can not find a new seat on line any body got any ideas, I am thinking remove seat take to upholstery shop??? ANYways thanks for the review...keep it on the road !
ABS is a MUST on all bikes now! in fact Euro Standards are that ANY motorcycle 200cc and over MUST have ABS by law. It has saved my arse on hundreds of occasions
Nice review and ride. Do you perform your own maintenance on your machine and if you do, what maintenance have you done? What's the farthest distance you've ridden on your "maxi scoot"?
I do my own maintenance. My longest mileage day was 240 miles on a day trip.. I have done tires. V belt. And oil changes. And whatever else i will need to do i will do it myself. Easy to work on.
I have an black '02 with 10k miles. I love the twist and go and I love the hand brakes. I sure get shit from the Harley guys out here in Cali.........but I can smoke most harleys. lol
Mine SW is sweating underneath the engine a little bit. Not much oil but at 25k miles should not happen. Anyone has same issues? Update: All SW are dripping sooner or later oil between the rubber that holds cable to the alternator. All SW have this issue if you see oil coming from the right side of the alternator cover.
What price range are you looking for? And what's a good mileage to consider? 20k miles still good to buy one of these at. I see a 2008 Silverwing 650 in my area.
Good video but man you do not wear protective clothing....I just had a serious accident hit by a old lady in a car and boy was I glad I had protective gear. Otherwise well you can tell.....
If I had the space I’d buy one of these but unfortunately I don’t. I just sold my Honda Elite 250 which was a cool little old school scooter do to lack of current space. I’ve owned many motorcycles I’m honestly at the point where I enjoy scooters more. Must be age kicking in 😂
Shiftless by definition means : characterized by laziness, indolence, and a lack of ambition. I like not having to change gears on a scooter, but I love changing gears on a sport bike and Muscle car .
The one I wanted sold out from under me. Found a few like new for $2500 a little more than I wanted to pay.. but I gotta get a silver wing. Don't think I'll be wearing a mask riding.😂
I own multiple motorcycle and multiple scooters, I dont have a silverwing, but I have a helix, motorcycles are fun and fast, but really, the faster maxi scooters are where its at, so much easier to ride around town, lighter, nimble, motorcycles around town are just plain fatiguing,
Can't wait to get my Honda silver wing it a trike if you want to see a video of it on UA-cam please help me out on how to upload videos on my phone to UA-cam
The only Terrible Engineered Part of this Scooter is the Intake Air Box, you have to almost disassemble the whole Back of Bike to get to Air Filter-not good Honda...
Excuse me as i make a tasteless analogy. The honda silvering seems to be one of those girls in highschool that wasn't really pretty, but just good enough to make you want to jump on and ride her and when you did, it was actually really good and easier then you thought it would be, and of course then you went and told your buddies.........im sorry that was pathetic.
Appreciate hearing the bike and engine noise. Great v8d... years later. Shopping a silverwing. Thanks.
yup. driving a sw400. Lovely bike really.
I got a 2004 Silverwing in June. Best thing I ever rode, and will never sell her! :)
Great review and video! I just got a 2006 Silverwing a few weeks ago, and adore it!
That is awesome! Thanks for watching. I rode about a thousand miles so far this 2021 season. Enjoy!

true
I have a 2007 burgman 400 and a 2004 crb600rr and guess what I take out most of the time? The scoot is typically my first choice hehe
Got a red 03. Been riding it 3 years. Best motorcycle I have ever owned!
The FSC600 is a great Maxi scooter. Have owned mine new from 2002. Glad that you are enjoying yours! Keep the shiny side up! 😊

My friend Tom rides a 2012 Swing, he is 6'2 he has no complaints.

You could sort of comment on your impression of the scoot as you ride it. Maybe that would be interesting.
Maybe next year.
