  • *Don`t try this if you are new to sport- at least 3 years experience needed!!!
    We had equipment malfunction that we noticed at edit. Hope You still will enjoy the video.
    Inspiration for this is Ryan Bowen and Todd Hutchings testing their 1 REP max at Ryans house in Australia. So Coach Ray, Janis Amolins, Vladislavs "Vlad The Destroyer" Krasovskis, Raimonds Antonovis and Toms Rozitis took the challenge to test out 1 rep max on our side press using Todd and Ryan vectors. We tried to recreate the situation as close as possible, but we still need to have training session together to test it all on the same equipment. Hope You guys enjoy it, Stay Strong & Love Armwrestling. Handle was smaller than what they used 60 mm, best we could find.

    I think a major factor not taken into account here is the size of the handles. Bigger the circumference, harder it is. And from the looks of it the handle Ryan and Todd used was a little bigger than you guys'.

      @@voiceofarmwrestling I don't think it would matter much. You and Janis had strong cups so wouldn't the bigger handle not make a difference? Hutchings was losing his wrist so he would do more with a smaller handle I would think.

    • @ChrisDrummondAW
      @ChrisDrummondAW 5 років тому +2

      It's not just about not losing the wrist but having a tighter handle lets you engage the tendons in the elbow at the bottom of the flexors more than an open hand can which gives you better side pressure.

    Do you think you could get the same numbers on a single pulley ? Is it harder to overcome the weight on a single pulley ? It seems like the weight moves really quick on the cable system. From the point you apply force it’s moving pretty much instantly which is unusual when getting close to a 1rm. I know when I lift on a cable system in the gym even if it’s the same weight it’s less pressure on the joints compared to my krasi pulley system. Is there something to what I’m saying ?

      @@voiceofarmwrestling try and check with it at 40-45kg so the handheld scale can read it. I noticed my pulley system changed in numbers after I loaded it up, it was actually heavier than I thought. Just curious

    We need a face to face “competition” on the same equipment for comparisons to be valid. Your set up and handle are quite different - less give in pulley, chain instead of strap, and narrower grip handle. Ryan also drags it a lot further. You guys have an anchored elbow. So quite different, sorry. Even I could get bigger numbers on this.

    I'm only 8.5 minutes in but I thought Ryan only did 42.5 with 1 arm and it was only 3/4 rep. Todd was done at 35 or 38 for both arms and Ryan only got 42.5 with right. Correct me if I'm wrong. (I might be)
