    Just a quick Tool Haul video of a few new tools from Ko-ken that I bought from Amazon - Japan. I am the most impressed with how smooth the Ko-ken Z-EAL ratchets are. They look and feel great compared to many of my other brands of sockets and ratchets.
    I am very impressed with the overall quality and feel of these tools and am looking forward to using them.

    love Koken ratchets! Surprised how often the short handle one really comes in handy, never had one that short before. Generally use the longer flex one you just showed, i mean oscillating. Also just fun to get something from Japan, even with shipping the price is usually lower.

    ラチェットではないけど、3769Hもお勧めです。

    For me the best ratchets on the market, clearly superior to the Nepros I own to

      I also bought both and to me Koken is the clear winner

    I didn't think it was possible but I put in some super lube and it's even smoother. More specifically I mixed some super lube grease with the super lube oil to thin it out, applied some only to the ball like 5 rice grains worth and wow it's even smoother

    I prefer quick release on my ratchets too. I just bought a rebuild kit with button and put it in my regular 72 tooth koken. It was $20 from Japan.

      Nice! I thought I might get some hateful comments about the quick release preference, but it's just that my hands are usually pretty greasy and the quick release makes it that much easier.
      Thanks for watching.

      Thanks! I’m going to do that! Twice!
      The snatch-off release is so close tolerance it is difficult to take off smooth chrome sockets.
      Not so much with the mat chrome Koken sockets. They also sometimes have a knurled ring that helps get them off.
      Sockets fit so snug on a Koken ratchet you can’t use a screwdriver to pry them off. It took a utility knife.

    Koken has a ~ 16in 3/8 breaker bar. 3768Z-400. Althought if they made a 16in ratchet I would buy it

    Quick release come in clutch alot of the time. I also prefer it, knowing koken(own a bunch) i know you can upgrade your existing ratchets if you want to.

    I don't like the metal cap at the end of the handle. It's just waiting to chip paint or break a window.

    How are they with getting dirty and cleaning up and the handle with getting beat up i dont like comfort grip stuff cause they get beat up easy but i want a nice new ratchet that is not snap on

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan  8 місяців тому +2

      So far so good, I haven’t done any really dirty work with them yet, but I’m very happy with how they are working so far. I also don’t usually love the comfort grip on most ratchets, but I like the feel of this handle material. And it cleans up fine and doesn’t feel too soft. I like the long flex head shown in this video with the quick release. I have been grabbing it quite a bit lately.
      Best of luck with whatever you choose.
      Take care,
      -Dan

    How is the ball detent on the flex head? Does hold the flex head in place well or flops around when actually working?

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan  7 місяців тому +1

      The ball detent works great. It doesn’t hold the straight position super strong. It will still release and flex easily without much effort at all. But it doesn’t flop around, it is nice and smooth. I feel like it is just the right amount of resistance that you want in a flex head. I do like it a lot.
      Take care,
      Dan

    How long did it take Koken USA to ship your stuff? I'm still waiting for stuff I bought on black friday.

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan  7 місяців тому

      I think it was less than a week or so to Southern California. I would call them at 351-500-6638 to get some help with that, or see if they can help you track the shipment.

      I love the Tone 1/4 ratchet. The 3/8 has way too much back drag imo. I left it in ATF overnight and it helped but still too much.

    1/4 or 3/8 fork automotive? And quick relase or non quick release ?

      These ratchets are all 3/8" drive and the one on the farthest left is non quick release, the other three are quick release. Thanks for watching!

    Man I been eyeing some koken ratchets for a while, still havnt pulled the trigger. I will for my next tool purchase. You ordering from koken usa or going on amazon japan?

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan  10 місяців тому +2

      I really am very happy with them so far. Hard to beat the back drag and feel of these. I am sure you will like them.
      I have ordered most of the Ko-Ken from Amazon Japan.
      I have also ordered a few things from Koken USA, but I usually do whichever is cheaper. I have been quite surprised how fast the stuff comes from Amazon Japan - even with international shipping…it’s usually pretty quick.
      Thanks for watching!
