My older brotha had this on a cd I used to borrow it when he wasn't home run and play it on the Living Room. I'm 33 now
This fell in my lap. I forgot how impactful this was to me as a kid. Very comforting and easy listening. Of course I had zero idea what it was about then. I remember being in my moms room on a Friday night the 1st time I heard this. Nostalgia.
A masterpiece of a song, still sounds as good today as the day I bought it over 20 years ago, long live Wyclef
I just discovered this song watching It's always sunny and ironically enough I discovered it on the last day of November lol
My dad would be 76 in August. The first real boomers.. he loved, loved wyclef and the lox.
He passed away, not from covid-19. In his sleep just before Thanksgiving
I was in Elementary going into Middle School when this song came out. Greatest time of My life and Hip Hop, the 90's was everywhere.
I loved this song since I first heard it years ago, still can't listen to it enough. I love every part of it, but when the violins in, especially at the end.🎶🎼🥰
So today I was in the store, and this song was playing softly. I was almost in tears because I totally got the chills of memories of my youth. So I searched “gone to my grandma” (im dutch and thought that was what he said ) and here I am .. totally forgot about the song and video, and it’s beautiful ♥️
💋
You must have really loved your grandma🤣
Your music has been a huge blessing to me and my USMC family..I listened to your messages while on tour in the early 90's ..and currently in 2024And forward. Thank you Speech

It's Always Sunny is the whole reason I'm listening to this
It's February 2022 and this sh*t is STILL GREAT!!!
Always wondered how it feels to have to travel to feed your family, yet be separate from them for extended periods of time. It has to hurt, but a lot of people in the world are living that reality today.
clerence from my experience its very hard.i have been away from home for the past 7 years i miss my family a lot and hoping everyday to see them again....
God willing, you will soon. Just remember that they are yours. Even though you're separated from them, it makes them more precious and not less.
always remember we cant forget where we come from and begin
Clarence Clayborne Aint about touring. This song's about some poor dude making a "run" to the border to buy drugs. If he gets busted he'll be gone till November. He sings about his "legal problems" and that he hopes to be out to see his son's graduation.
zenphil yes!
The Genius called Wyclef Jean...WYCLEF DA GENIUS JEAN....
This song will never get old 🤩
