I have a modded 14 GT and i still miss my old ecoboost. I loved it’s turbo sounds and motorboatish exhaust. Idk why so many people hate on it. Especially the brand new ecoboosts with the improved engine.
It sounds great ! Mustang ecoboost is just as impressive as a gt , even though the engines are different , they both have their own great things
They each have their great perks and uses

The only way to make a 4 cylinder sound good is to put two of them together

Sounds good, nice ripping sound. To bad people feel they have to virtue signal about how it sucks and it’s not a v8. If people were really serious about driving and not how an engine should sound they may open their pee brains to the excellence of this engine in terms of how much better the car rotates, brakes, returns amazing FE for a Mustang and less it is to insure while being very fun to drive; that would be amazing. BTW, I build SBFs and BBF, owned and wheeled many v8s and currently drive a GT350, which still steers like a pig compared to a PP EB.

I'm leaning more towards the magnaflow. Going for v8 sound is a waste of time, you end up with a lawnmower or fart can effect. It's better to focus on what you have and go for tone. I want my car recognized on the track for not sounding like shit, but having such a unique sound that just fits it. Like a bmw M3 tearing through country roads it's not trying to sound like a v8 it's just balanced and compliments the engine it has.
Jealous how much easier some of this stuff is with a lift in your garage.

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass right now. And this upgrade makes this Ecoboost sound EXACTLY like the Tigershark 4-cyl. in FCA’s cars. It’s weird, but I sorta kinda like the way that engine sounds in a cosmic way (after it warms up). But it sounds straight up AWFUL if you rev it up high or when it’s cold.
I say all that to say while you can get away with it in those cars, idk about a Mustang with a “grainy engine noise”...

My humble opinion, its a pretty fast car nice and quiet was fine. This system sounded raspy, I would want a deeper tone...probably doable with two glass packs longer than there resonaters..followed by cherry bomb vortex turbo mufflers. A deeper tone will be heard. Not raspy
I'm not a fan of the eco-boost or V6 only V8 but I'm not gonna lie that does sound nice.

Nope. Still sounds terrible. Ford has perfected awful sounding 4 cylinders in this and the Focus RS. A turbo four can sound good, but not this 2.3L. Buzzing insects. I've heard a few live and it's even worse. Best exhaust for the Ecoboost Mustang is stock.
BmacRDX Yeah I agree, there are good sounding 4 cylinder engines for example the Cosworth, Evos and so on but the eco boost just sound like you put a empty soda can as a muffler/endpipe..
I have one of these, its a good motor powerful and light on the nose...but it seems impossible to get it to sound good and to make things worse it plays engine sounds through the interior speakers which sucks.
I think the best setup is to keep the stock mufflers and resonator and just upgrade the downpipe.
I get a Ecoboost and keep it stock. Thinking to upgrade it to a V8 version then it will be great to change exhaust
It doesn't sound bad. It sounds good. But it's so damn wrong. It sounds like my MK5 GTI that has a full turbo back exhaust. Imo if your going to get a 4 bangar mustang, don't even bother and just get a Focus ST, or a GTI or something.

I miss my 335i T.T The n54 had a sexy sound. My biggest challenge with the ecoboost will be sound, especially since everyone wants it to sound like a v8 most of the exhaust options are crap, and not going for tone.

There really isn't a loudest, it will depend on what other modifications you have. An off road downpipe and a muffler delete would be the absolute loudest but doesn't sound great to me. Others love it.

"....sound so good?" Nope. The Magnaflow Competition sounds better and even then I just doesn't sound good. Especially the louder the system. It is hard to make a 4 or 6 cylinder ecoboost sound decent with the exception of the Ford GT. Just my opinion.
TheTexasHitmen Car Projects I had that MF Comp exhaust on my 15 Mustang EB and ended up adding in an aftermarket resonator. After that it sounded much better than it already was and got compliments on it from even 4 banger haters.

A mustang that sounds like a ricer. Its a muscle car not a civic you dont buy it for gas mileage. Would you buy a dodge challenger or Chevy with a 4 cylinder I think not.
It also has a very easily customizable engine with a few mods it'll be as fast as a GT and also the ecoboost is better than a v6 out the door stock but if you wanna hear the best sounding exhaust for this it'll be the flowmaster, I own the eco and that exhaust I get compliments one even from a GT owner car people don't care what the engine size is because 4 cylinders can easily be modified to push 500+hp but this is all opinion based I just wanted to tell mine :)
I don't think getting a 4cyl mustang is all that bad if you just got it for looks and a little bit of spirited driving here and there but it definitely doesn't sound very good with aftermarket exhaust. I personally think that the previous NA 4cyl mustang sounded better.

I have a 1988 mustang with full bolt ons and a small shot...I'd trade it for a 2018 5.0, even the automatic which is sick but I love manual, right now. This however...I'd keep my car. Not a fan of the sound of this at all
Still have a mullet eh? Dude my first new car was an ‘88 GT. Those Ecoboost mustangs are faster, handle better and average 23 MPG. Try one out before you diss out of hand. They are surprisingly smooth.

Buying a used 2015 EcoBoost for like $15k is understandable. But spending $28k on a new EcoBoost is insane. Sure it's better than a miata, but with that money you could buy a 2016 5.0 with some mods.

Have you ever driven one? They steer and handle way better than the V8. I have been driving v8’s for over 30 years and currently own a GT350. I also had an EB, and it is a better car 95% of the time.
Shawn Schroeder agreed. I had buyers remorse when I bought mine and went to trade it in for a Gt premium. I didn’t do it because the gt handled much worse was much rougher over bumps (Michigan lol). It was really fast but the tires would break loose at 60 percent throttle sooooo what’s the point i it doesn’t grip? That’s why an M3 has the “same power” and costs twice as much. It handles better and is better balanced. Modern pony cars are unbalanced as hell.
Shawn Schroeder - Horse shit, an EcoBoost V6 Mustang is in no way, shape, or form a better machine than a GT350 in any way, especially at speed. The suspension of the V6 isn’t even set up to compete with a 350.
Mista Butterworth 1st of all there is no such thing as a v6 Ecoboost Mustang. 2nd I own both cars. An EB with Performance Package is a very capable performance car. It’s lighter with 100 lbs less on the nose than a GT350. I have autocrossed both cars and the EB PP is a little slower, but a more competitive car for its class F Stock vs A Stock for the GT350. For 90% of driving situations the EB is a better car for less money, insurance and fuel costs. That is Horse Sense.

Could you weld those clamps after the y pipe instead of using clamps, thinking for longevity (5-6 yrs down the road).
Plenty of people have welded the pipes or even tacked the clamps to make sure they do not move.

I have to agree I’ve been on the fence about upgrading exhaust to my ‘18 ecoboost convetible. Every one that I hear in person sounds like Taco Bell bubble guts. No way I want to be that guy
I went back to a GT 2020 pp 1 10 speed.
There appears to be one exhaust system good for the ecoboost although I can't remember the company but it's a single exhaust all the way back. Good luck 👍
