Big numbers WIN but in the real world it will not make a difference for 99.9% of people. Slow SSD is not something that most people suffer from. The only good thing is that it may push the older generations prices down.

Until Windows can figure out a way to fully ultlize a Solid-State Drive especially M.2 than GEN5 is pretty much meaningless & not worth it over a good GEN4 Drive.

Sabrent rocket 5 or the seagate 540?

I still buy Gen3 drives. They run cool enough to not need a heatsink, local speeds are fast enough that I never feel I'm waiting on disk operations, and they're easily able to saturate a network connection.
That said, there is something tempting about such huge IOPS numbers.

The IOPS are what I'm looking for but I'm already on a KC3000 2Tb...

No, that feature isn't slated to come until the release of Gen 7 SSDs

I would love to be able to stick something like that in my laptop, but the heatsinks make it impossible😢

Hey Nas compares ideally we would love a review for Nvmes reviews for Nas's just the ones that can do 1000'msps + sustained writing once if any onboard cache is filled. All these fast speeds are good but sustrained writes are all we need your review ~4 years ago showing the Samsung 970 Evo plus was great as it has sustained writes well over 1500mps more than enought for any 10gbe or 5gbe or the crappy 2.5gbe/1gbe nas speeds. Specifically review the 4tb Nvme drives whats the bang for buck one mabye the lexar nm 790

Nice so which Nas will have a new 100gbe connection so we can enjoy these 10Gps speeds.. 😀 Theres no doubt for anything other than gaming that any sustained writes will require a MAssive heat sink for any gen 5 nvme but then gen 5 long as it can handle 60 seconds its all most users need for PC's etc

All the great technical verbiage about new Hi-Performance Gen 5 SSDs is great, but the one thing you should "always, always" do without fail, is STATE whether there are any currently available NAS Systems out there (for sale) that can actually accept these Gen 5 SSDs and allow the user to take full advantage of the Sabrent Rocket Gen 5 (or any other vendors Gen 5 SSDs) performance. Otherwise it really nothing more than vapor where. It's like saying a new teleporter engine has finally been released commercially that will let you teleport from NYC to London in less than 1 second, but there are no transport station in existence that will allow you to take advantage. Your very sharp I'm sure you understanding this concept.

That's a rather odd stance. I mean, if you wanna know if there are client devices that accept gen 5 drives at full bandwidth? Yes...loads. and NAS devices? Well... There's one from QNAP and that's it. But it would be odd to only look at this drive in the context of 'NAS'.
