I’m 75 and we used to get long sleeve denim or chambray shirts and decorate by sewing on eyelet lace.
colorful rickrack and make puffy flowers using quilting scraps. We edged the sleeve cuffs, and sometimes changed the buttons to match. Fun memories. I may have to try to do one this fall. Thanks for my memory💗💗💗💗💗💗

You find the most amazing things at the thrift stores in your area! The thrift stores in Houston are so overpriced, there’s no room for reselling and making a profit.
    Love all your DIY’s!

Highlights magazine! Wow! One of my favorite magazines as a kid, such good stuff in there! I used to enjoy reading those as a kid in the doctor's or dentist's office waiting room, such fun! The elephant carving also takes me back, Back in the 70's, Grandma and Grandma had a special set of wood carvings from Africa just like that in a glass case in their living room. I used to look in wonder at the carvings and be amazed by the beauty of African culture, I still find it beautiful to this day.

The bleaching of the jackets bring back Memories, for when I was Younger I bought high neck cotton ribbed sleeveless tank tops in teal blues, green, dark pink and dark gray and would put a piece of plastic covered cardboard on the inside of the shirt and use a Clorox Pen and free hand wild flowers on the front and then rinse the shirts to show the print... They were AWESOME. I gave them to my Friends and Family for Easter. Wow, Thank You for this part of the Video.

They might make fabric pens to go back in of the sunflowers, I accidentally got bleach on two tops, now I know how to have fun fixing them. One is a cotton plaid shirt. We shall see what happens
I would skip the high end purses they usually check well they try, I got duped at good will,, they had it in a Locked case too.

Back in the 80s my daughter asked me to bleach her denim jacket so I did I painstakingly bunched it up in rubber bands and poured bleach on it but I didn't have a clue about diluting the bleach when I got it out of the washer it had huge holes in it needless to say my daughter was none to happy when she got back from school that day

When you showed the washed paint inlay, I first thought the inlay had transfered (no pun...😏) to the painted part (shadowy effect) because the blue is the same color as the jacket. I kind of liked the look, even though it wasn't what you were going for. Loved your haul, just amazing and remarkable items you find and rescue from the landill.~Laura 😊❤

Oh man, I love how those jean jackets turned out. Bummer about the paint inlay. But I feel like it's salvageable if you wanted to do another on top of it. Can you do it without a sealer and heat set the paint with the cloth and iron method? Or rather than a paint inlay, could you put a transfer on it since it wouldn't be washed anyway?
Also, you had some amazing bins finds! I love these vids.
