On today's video I unbox my new frog rod to replace the one I broke a few weeks back. After lots of looking I finally settled on the Duckett Green Ghost. Can't say I have used any of the Duckett rods. My frog rod is a Cashion 7'4" MH Fast . I don't think I have caught a bass on a frog with it yet. I bought it late fall last year. I did stumble into a school of feeding fish one morning and quickly tied on a Spook. Caught two stripers before they disappeared. It handled them very well. Looking forward to getting into frog season this year.
Good video. Just just bought a green ghost 7' going to try it out.
Probably use a crank on it since it's a medium heavy.

I am using it right now and have caught 6. Including one over 4....I really like it. You will be happy with it!!

I got one and I toss 1/2 jigs on it with 50 pound braid but some of y’all’s hook sets are unnecessary mine has work great
If you get a chance try the BPS pro qualifier rods and reels, I have several, they are very good quality for the price.
I have several BPS Bionic Blades and have used Extremes in the past. Bass Pro makes great rods....also the tourny specials are a great bargain too
@@GunnFishTV I have one of the green tourney special rods I use for my frog rod, not bad for $50, I have an Extreme combo that's 10 years old and still works good.
Can you compare the green ghost to a Lews Mach 2 or similar
I have 3 Lews mach II that have beat on for 3 years now and they are still solid. This Green Ghost broke my 3rd trip out with it unfortunately. Duckett is going to replace it but I did some research and this seems to be an issue with these rods
How has that rod been
Unfortunately it broke fairly quickly....its a decent rod but I dont believe frog fishing is its strong point
Duckett is great. I use their rods, not a Green Ghost. I like the parabolic action too. Might look into this one. How does it fish?
I liked it but this rod broke a few trips after this video. I love Ducketts tho sue to their parabolic action. The green ghost was a little stiffer than the old Ghosts or the newer Silverado tho
@@GunnFishTV I use the Silverado 6'10 for my fluke set, year old... but surprised that broke so soon. Glad I asked because I about pulled the trigger online to get one. Did it break unexpectedly? Or were you in a heavy-duty situation?
I have never caught a fish on a frog. I’m obviously doing something wrong 😀
You just have to throw it!! You will get confidence in it!!
