Just keep grinding and less begging for money. Constantly begging for money is not the way to get where you want to be, it turns off the viewer that’s for sure. And I would think you as a man have more pride than that. I subscribe to your channel, but every time you are asking for donations and start the poor us we need money I move on to a different boating video elsewhere. The payoff from UA-cam comes from watched hours, if someone gets turned off and ends the video early it is like they never watched it and you don’t get credit for the viewing time.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to live that kind of lifestyle, but most of us do it when we either have the free time or wait until we can retire to do it.
Not quite sure what happened with your marriage, I would hope it wasn’t ended because of the boating dream you have. Maybe you will have a video on that some day.
Bottom line, way less begging and more cohesive entertaining videos will make your UA-cam plan work.
Sometimes hearing the truth is not what we want to hear but is what we need the most.
    Keep grinding!

I for one love the channel…and love that Captain Paul was able to bring my boat 1500 some miles up to me in WIsconsin. He has helped me understand and learn about my boat and continues to be the most valuable resource I could ever ask for. This is not their hobby this is their love and their passion. I find it very inspiring that they have the courage to put it all out there to go for what they love. They do this with integrity and with knowledge and help other people who wish they could do the same.
    I say nice work brothers!

Just a couple of thoughts. People tend to want to approach things on “their terms”. If things are not going to plan then a shift is usually required. Nothing wrong with being a fast follower vs a maverick. Look at what the most successful channels are doing and emulate it. Perhaps more of a “story” that people can follow. Maybe an short intro that summarizes the story and plays every time so potential new subscribers “get it”. An outro with your merch store seems popular on other channels. Maybe only 1 video a week with a more integrated theme. Just some thoughts.

The common theme in all these comments is people looking to buy boats! I think you should hookup with a broker in Florida and focus more on that. I think it’s going to be very difficult to achieve what you want from UA-cam alone but UA-cam is a good way to find leads and establish credibility. Keep your content brief and informative, those are the best videos so far. Best of luck to you both!

Lot of good suggestions especially from the long winded guy. It takes time to get established just like any other business. Personally if the clients allow it I'd love to watch you deliver other peoples vessels and include a boat tour of what you're delivering. East coast, west coast or even Great Lakes. When you do stay at a marina show us what the marina is like or ones you'd recommend. You're about a year older than me and within the next couple years I'll be buying a boat, 34 to 38 ft although probably not a trawler more like a downeast express cruiser but show me what to expect and what to watch out for. Stick with it and you'll do well. You're both likeable.

Thanks for the honest assessment of your situation. I too live on a boat with a UA-cam channel. (Not yet pushing the channel though). However, UA-cam is not trustworthy for reliable income on its own. I am developing an affiliate marketing business based on digital downloads as a source of income. This is mobile friendly so fits great with a nomadic lifestyle.

Your content is great to learn about the trawler life, boat maintenance, vessel advise, navigation, etc. One thought is to reach to some of the channels that have 100k plus followers and see what input they have to grow the channel. I see your as educational. Other channels I follow are more for destination reviews/overviews, etc.

Agree with Robert. 38 year old from central PA so part of your younger audience. You should check out “Cape Coral Lifestyle” jet ski trips for a layout of how you should do your videos. Also check out “Adventures of Happy Hours” trip down the ICW, not the recent stuff around Cape Coral. A third to check out is TampaAerialMedia” for his beautiful shots of locations he travels to. I think you need more music and beauty shots of the surrounding areas and explanations of what you can see and explore when you get there. People can use your channel to reference when going to the same places you visit. Also like your videos when you tour boats and talk about pricing and monthly costs. Good luck, envious of your new lifestyle.

Few suggestions, anchor in areas that do not cost, learn more about all the food available from the sea, as in eat more fish, crabs, seaweed, barnacles, lobster, and edible plants along coast lines. Quit using so much pwr on the boat, as in A/C, lights at night and so forth. Cut back and tough it out. Quit driving all over, stay in areas longer.
As I told you guys before, improve your video content, that is number one when doing UA-cam, you talk snorkeling but we dont see much of anything, shots over the bow all the time are boring. To attract viewers and patrons your vids have to be entertaining, instructional, and quality to keep people coming back. Ex: when you catch fish, show how you prepare and cook it, let’s see those fillet skills. Show how you dive down and catch lobster, let’s see some spear fishing, when you anchor off a island, dingy in to shore, walk around the island describing the place vlogging what you like about it, what’s cool in town to visit and such. Spear some fish and cook it on the beach on a open fire.
What video equipment do you have, drone is a must, drone shots are very enjoyable to watch, get gimbled cameras, Dji has a killer gimbal for iPhones, 159.00 new, pick up used for less and that’s for the latest one, holds horizon, that piece of equipment will make a huge diff. your vids MUST have story to um, not just a bunch of random talking, up your editing. You have to start concentrating on your videos and producing better content, that is what’s going to grow your channel. Shoot in 4K, blurry, out of focus isn’t cutting it. When you make vids, think ahead of time what you are going to do, make a story out of it.
Take a look at successful tubers vids, crystal clear shots, edited well, there telling a story of what there doing at the time, not a bunch of Willy Nilly nothingness. Just throwing up random clips does not make a UA-cam channel.

As a professional marketer, you need to get your subscriber base up as quickly as possible. Your quality (cameras etc) are fine. Your content is entertaining. You need audience. In addition to asking for money, ask for (1) subscribe (2) then like (3) then share with others. Also look at other big boating channels where you currently are and see if you can cross-promote by doing a video together.

@@NoRegretsLifestyle Ok, a few more ideas for you:
      1. Look at your UA-cam Analytics and see specifically where you're getting the most engagement (views) and least. Do this across 20+ videos and see if you can find a pattern in the content. If so, do more and less of that respectively.
      2. Need about more of a formula. Example: Strong opening that engages the viewer, then title credits, then ask for Subscribes and Likes, then back to content.
      3. Tag ALL the places you go that are in your content. Cities, Marinas, Restaurants, etc. Their views and probable likes will be seen by their audiences
      4. Host no-cost meetups. (Example: We'll be at this bar at 8pm Friday). Worst case no one shows up. Best case, they do, you film it, you tag them and you likely get free drinks. What you probably don't realize is that you're living the life many people envy and being on UA-cam, you're already a minor celebrity. I think you'll be surprised.
      5. Meet up with these guys @tryingnottosink9107. I don't know them but they're content is similar and they have an engaged audience. They're mostly in FL and Bahamas.

Brain dump... Warning.. increased verbosity level (a.k.a babbling).....My thoughts to help build traffic are to keep it interesting and keep it as honest as you have. Be yourselves, as you have. Share your cruising lives, as you have.
Not sure what everyone else out there likes to see, but I've enjoyed seeing cruisers' highlights of traveling the ICW (or out to a reef) and sharing the locations and high points/docking/achoring challenges of good & bad marinas, mooring fields and anchorages (name, location, pro, con). Maybe some short trips to other keys to anchor, snorkel, etc.. I also enjoy the DIY (maintenance & upgrade tasks like valve adj and dinghy water sep install, etc.), the snorkeling, walks around the area & what it offers, the dinghy rides through the mangroves or a music or other dinghy raft-up, the happenings where you are (morning net, cornhole competition & other Boot Key community stuff might be fun). Maybe a tour of your boat (unless I missed that video), share/cook a quick fav taco or other recipe, show us a favorite do-dad, share your starlink experience (version decision & purchase highlights, install, usage/performance, issues). All good stuff (for me).
Maybe share the "tools" you use for staying informed on incoming weather, navigating (mfd & mobile apps), nav challenge alerts (how to stay informed of USCG LNM's & other important notifications), preferred guide books (& why), fav website links & apps). Reviews of local establishments of interest whether they're eateries, food or parts shopping, boat yards or whatever. T-shirts, hoodies, hats & other do-dads will all help offset expenses as will boat deliveries and on or off-water training for folks with less experience. There may be some maint tasks other boaters can hire you for. Boat-sitting to keep batteries topped up or change oil or more when the owner can't be onboard for some period.
As folks have said and as you know, us arm-chair-cruisers love to live vicariously through channels like yours. Although it may require increased numbers, some channels have reached out to product suppliers for possible sponsorship opportunities. I think there are Amazon affiliate links you can set up some how to get a little share of a purchase but not affect the price?? Let comments/questions also help drive things.
Sorry for the looong-winded comment. Really hoping to see your viewership build to support your efforts. I'm enjoying the view so far.
