      Good job. Can't help on the age of that generator but getting a old engine of any kind running is great fun. I have a old Sears Craftsman (Tecumseh) 127cc horizontal shaft that I got years ago that I am beginning to work on. No spark, so that's the start of my adventure. Will get it running and leave it running in my closed up shed to drive the squirrels out!

    Don i have seen a Honda parts catalogue for the EG1000 dated 1977 so maybe older than you think. At EP we always try to save the original OEM carbs even if they look like they can not be salvaged. In some cases we have ordered aftermarket carbs just for parts like the bowl and needle valve because that is cheaper than ordering the OEM parts and they fit and work perfectly without the problems many aftermarket carbs present sometimes rapidly and sometimes after a season or two. To clean out the fuel inlet housing we have had great success using a Q Tip with a stainless steel polishing paste. Jake actually ordered some special pointed style Q Tips that work better than the original style. This video just proves how good these engines are great job on a smooth runner.

    I've an EC 1500. Bought it in 1977. The one you've just worked on is early 80s- late 70s. The metal chrome handle came later on Honda's.
    Prior to that the handle has 2 rubber grips over the carby end .damned heavy but is still starting 2nd pull. That fuel tap is there for a purpose and is used to run the fuel out of the carby every time after use.
    The EC 1500 also has an oil bath air cleaner. They're the way to go.

      That is amazing your Honda generator is from 1977, does it run fine and have you been using it often.? I just want to compare the quality of these old machines to what we have nowadays.

    • @glennford8844
      @glennford8844 Рік тому +1

      @@mohabatkhanmalak1161 hasn't done a lot of work.
      Camping, painting interiors of new houses at night and ran a power supply for cb radio operations.
      Fired up the machine last week because they're buggering up our power system and I want it handy and READY for when the greenies turn it off.
      1500w will do lighting, fridge, TV and even 1000w blower heater. They are great machines, not like the new ones because they use brushes and they're heavy to handle. That's why they're so good. Donyboys genny is 1000w. I didn't note the hp of the engine, but mine is 5hp.
      When I purchased the genny, it cost 750 dollars Australian which was a huge amount of money, hence it's still well looked after. I stuck an hour meter on it and oil is changed after 30hours.

    Iam not even a mechanic, but i learn so much from you guy's. I could easily fix a chainsaw, line trimmer, leaf blower, just by looking at your videos. Most of the people need to be patient and tinker around, but, i don't know why some people just can't be bothered. All you did for this generator, replaced the carburettor by spending some spare time, $28 and 3 weeks of waiting time (iam sure you could've fixed the old carburettor by dissolving it in petrol for few hours). You are right dealing with small things like that spring near the throttle could be the most difficult bit. Iam impatient when it comes to those bits. Thanks for the video. 🌹🌹🌹🌹😢

I had an old Tecumseh carb so I filed on the mounting holes, bought a couple of mounting bolts and stuck it on. I couldn't believe it but it started on the first pull and ran great after a minor adjustment on the main jet.
