- Joe Biden and Donald Trump have clashed over the war in Ukraine, during the first televised debate of the 2024 US presidential election campaign.
Trump claimed that Russia and Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine because he saw how incompetent Biden's team was in their exit from the war in Afghanistan.
Biden defended his foreign policy record, and claimed that Trump told Putin to do "whatever you want".

That's what we are trying to do. We were sending aid to USSR after it was invaded by Nazis in 1941. And now we are sending aid to Ukraine after it was invaded by Russian Reich, same story.
