"Some friends and I were hanging out at the top of the Smokies Mountains at our cabin. I heard footsteps behind me and the bear was about 10 feet from me. I started recording and feeding the bear some food. My friend Nick grabbed a biscuit and I told him to hand feed the bear, surprisingly the bear took the biscuit-like a dog, then shortly after the video ended I got charged by the bear. Luckily nobody was hurt."

Most animals are intelligent enough to learn not too bite the hand that feeds. what you are seeing, is both man and beast both evolving towards civility. And that's how bear attacks happen. They get used to people. Then instead of avoiding people, they approach them. Then one day they aren't in the mood and decide to eat a person instead. Exactly what I described has happend. But usually the bear gets put down first.
Exactly right
Yep.
Exactly!!!
Myth #13: People traveling in bear country are often attacked. Fact: Bear attacks are extremely rare. Although there are thousands of human-bear encounters every year, only a very few result in personal injury. Most bears will actually retreat before you are even aware of their presence.
@@kellystephen4235 I live in Alaska and go hunting a lot. I've both had bears run away from me and run at me. Only 2000 people live in my town and a few have died to bears. Sure most the time they won't attack but they most definitely can and sometimes do attack. 100% will attack you if they have cubs too. Your right that most the time they don't attack but don't put your life in the hands of a bear. Bring bear spray or a pistol if you're in bear country. Also feeding them is completely different. Bears usually don't attack because they don't associate people with food but if you feed them they do associate people with food. Much more dangerous situation than just walking in bear country with wild bears. One time I was in a tree stand and I saw a bear .5 miles away sniffing the air then broke out in a light jog straight in my direction. I've also seen bears smell me and run away. Depends how hungry they are or if you're on their territory.
Only problem is when the bear goes to other people for food or starts to raid camps or trash cans it will get put down. Not to mention the person attempting this potentially getting mauled. I work with wildlife and constantly see people underestimate black bears. I had one rush out of the mountain laurel and take down a deer in front of me. It was amazingly fast. Knocked down the deer, grabbed the head and broke its neck. Sounded like branches breaking. I backed away slowly and once i was out of sight booked it back to the jeep. Was happy it was hungry for deer and not me. Even armed thats not a fight I wanted any part of.
Excellent advice
Yes! I’ve had animal encounter training and work with the Forest Service. This is 100% true.
It must be frustrating to see idiots let loose in the woods
They eat deer?
You have to wonder if the bear isn't the more intelligent one in this group! People that don't know( like these guys) sometimes find out in terrible ways!!
So you think is gonna happen when the bear wants food from a human that doesn't have any? "Understandable, have a nice day?"
I'm just guessing this was in the Appalachian area of Tennessee where I live! We have plenty of black bears 🐻 and silly humans.
Last two words were Nobel Prize worthy.
I agree 100%
Natural selection should make those silly humans more aware of the dangers of bears
I live in south Alabama and they run thru my neighborhood like stray dogs
@@kellymchenry1944 I used to, none of the townspeople wanna believe theres bears in the woods and in dirt roads until they bout run over one crossing the road lol.
This is nuts. Bears can literally swipe there claws and rip your throat out.
Bears can also hibernate all winter and rip your throat out.
@@nikolaidrostdov Bears can also run as fast as a horse for short distances and rip your throat out.
@@rouninpanda6318 Woah. This is nuts.
At least Eli was out in the woods learning useful info about the forest animals when he was ditching grammar class.

"He's getting defensive now"
Me: oh this must be where the bear charges
I know right lol
😂😂😂 me too. Then it replays the short and i feel completely robbed
To be fair he was getting defensive. Might be why the camera was turned off. Party over everyone get inside sort of thing.
That's when the vid cuts out, see it's trigger word is, I'm not going to lie... Then it's charged him and ate most of his knees before they managed to shoot it enough to make it let go of his legs, but hey you got internet points tho
This is the literal worst thing you can do, not only do you put yourself in danger. You put other people in danger because now that bear associates people with food. Just moronic.
Now that bear associates people with food was the dumbest thing i've ever heard like he never did before lmao.🤣
That stupid thing your stupid friend always comes to say LOL
“Let him grab it out of your hand “
Best comment 👌🏾 🤣🤣🤣😆
The guy who said " hey,let him grab it outta your hand" is a genius.😂
1 billion IQ.
Bet he was drunk ....drunk people are the dumbest lol!
……and a good friend.
Friendly reminder that a grizzly can run 55 km/hr at around 400-500 lbs.
Grizzly are way bigger than that
This is indeed a black bear.
how do you even mistake this for a grizzly
You know you shouldn’t done that, now the bear is gonna keep coming around your property and maybe damage things if he doesn’t find food.
Always that one guy. Oh well guy, as long as there are animals, people will feed them. Get over it
Congratulations Sanjan Belford you won my idiot of the day award. Comment your address below, or contact me so I can get it and mail you your award. And once again congratulations on you win! The next step from here would be winning a Darwin award.

Click bait bear never charge at them
I always wondered why we have the Darwin Awards. This video summed it up nicely
This type of thing is what my uncle hates. To be clear, my uncle works for the state of Washington to manage bear populations and reallocate or kill when necessary. When a bear attacks a person its his job to find and put it down. He understands sometimes attacks happen, but when someone was feeding or provoking the bear he considers it a avoidable needless death. So just don't feed the bears. He's put down hundreds of bears over a 30 year career and he'll tell you most of them where just because of stuff like this. Like the time a neighborhood had a "friendly bear" that was known to most people. Eventually that friendly bear injured someone and had to be shot.....just stop
You are correct. It happens in southern California. Stop feeding dangerous animals. If they're ever hungry they will remember (humans=food)
This kind of stuff should be illegal. And posting videos of you doing it online should be enough to get you charged...
@@HavokBWR well According the title he was charged, but then again I didn’t actually see any of that so
The best part about this is that these folks could have avoided all this if they simply scared off the bear. I say this as a resident of the state of Michigan and a zoologist.
As the old saying goes: If it’s Black, fight back; If it’s Brown, lie down; If it’s White, good luck!
And when does the bear charge, doesn't happen on my phone, don't know about the rest of the world or did Australian censorship stop it

A human fed bear is a dead bear. Feeding wildlife is unbelievably stupid.
I guess humans feel the same about feeding the homeless

pls dont try this its wintersleep time this guy is lucky that the teddy dont ate him aswell
This is why bears and other predators become desensitized to humans and up having a bad interaction.
I love the way the bear charged them
He’ll destroy someone's campsite or house looking for more biscuits. 😂
I hope not, but that’s what happens when they associate people with food.
I love bears and recognize they can seem friendly, but for the love of god DO NOT FEED THEM. You are essentially getting the bear killed by doing this. They pose too much of a risk after they get comfortable around humans.
Why would you not want bears to be comfortable with humans? Especially if you live around them.. As someone who works with large animals that kill more people a year than any other animal, I can assure you that you want them to think you are not a threat.
@@oljimeagle dogs kills the most humans a year so stop with ur bs

DONT FEED THE BEARS
It legit says that everywhere in national park that don’t eat human food bc they don’t want it they what they know if you start feeding the bears there gonna come and do what ever they can to get into that food
Maybe don't feed them everywhere except certain places where the kindest bears are let in and some guards with sound horn etc. overlook would work out.
I think the title miss typed it actually meant “human charging on bear”
That's not the bear getting defensive, it is realizing its dominance.
Giving food to a wild animal is the dumbest thing you can do. Instead of helping it you put it into sure troubles.
I know that he was scared for his life facing one of the most dangerous creatures on earth. Must have been a hungry bear to accept food from that dangerous animal
