I'm not a drummer or musician but if you've heard a lot of songs you can pick up on clues in the song and sort of narrow it down to a few possible directions it may go in next few seconds. You can make a game out of with when listening to a song the first time. Also, most songs don't change bars or even the beat count midway through, so if he's uncertain he can actually play it safe and just do the bare minimum until he has more information again. There have been songs that managed to throw him off and his drumming didn't match the music perfectly for a second or two. This is one of the more complex songs you can get with the interruptions and whatnot, especially if you don't understand what she's saying.
@@Krawurxus I can play some piano and keyboards, but I can understand chord progressions, but not drums. I agree that he is very good at identifying when a only dialogue scene ends. amazing. I want to listen to more songs and be able to come up with drum parts as quickly as he does. Thanks for teaching me. ; )
@@magne_blim You're welcome, but this was just my personal observations from watching him play the drums for a while, not actual established musical knowledge. If you want to go try your own hand at song prediction and need music which you don't know yet there's a few UA-cam channels with amazing free music I can recommend, like "Clamavi de Profundis", "Antti Martikainen", "Miracle of Sound" or "Aviators". From there you can find even more in their "Channels" tab.
Drumming wise I can tell. By nailing it down to 4/4 song you already got the grasp of how the whole song will play out. Plus given the nature of "typical Japanese anime songs" (not insulting by any means, but theres a category in drumming for this one), by listening to the first part you can pretty much know how the song will go. Kinda like charting a map. The beat he plays in the verse is a very very very common beat (disco beat with 8 notes open/close hi-hat) you hear in Japanese songs. Also as long as Jerod stays within the bars and tempo he can throw everything 4/4 wise into it (not too overboard) and it will just sound fit.

When I hear a new song, I usually let it play for a few seconds for me to know how fast it is or the exact beat. This song in particular is very weird to play if it's your first time listening, especially when it changes beats three times.
@bigkusa 53 People were harassing him with fanfics and art shipping him with the Hololive girls even when he asked them not to. I think there were also people pretending to be hateful/jealous fans getting mad at him for daring to be in fanfics he didn't make with their waifus. Probably some of them even wrote it in the first place. It should be noted that he is also already in a happy relationship, making it even more uncomfortable.
