Did so as well for 3 years straight, until I got a sweet GTX 1050. I'll never forget how seeing my Skyrim at 60 FPS for the first time felt like. Playing with an RX 580 now, but I shall never forget about my humble roots.
i bought a gt 610 back in 2015 and i was extremely surprised by it at that time ran GTA 5, Tomb Raider, Devil may cry, Hitman absolution and so on. I have just upgraded to GTX 1060 and man i figured i was living under a rock all these years :)

Have this sitting in an old 2008 AMD tower with a 3x Phenom 64 and 4GB of RAM. Actually runs minecraft quite well, which is all I’ve used it for on it.
I've got like 500 fps in minecraft with an invidia GeForce gt 610, believe it or not, I actually did How did I do it? Well I made my own custom 16x16 texture pack, used badlion, lowest settings (badlion), medium settings (Minecraft)
I bought one of these a long time ago. I even played Fallout 4 with it and managed to get a play through done on easy mode with a sniper build. Civ 5 worked great with it too. Most of the MMOs I played, FF14, EVE Online, LotRO, all ran fine on lower settings. There is really no reason to have one now. Cheap AMD APUs will out perform it and a GT 730 or even 1030 isn't super expensive and runs in any machine as well. I think I paid $60 new for mine many years ago and I got that out of it, handed it off to an older guy who uses it to watch Netflix and UA-cam. It's still chugging away. Of all the cards to shit on, this isn't one of them for me. The already mentioned 1030. Make sure you don't end up with one of the DDR4 versions they slid out after launching with a DDR5 version. Those as an example, deserve to be shit on.

My card looks nothing like this. It's weird to me how little the different models look. The one i have has the heatsink cover most of the card, and is shorter

I know you asked this months ago, but the recommended driver for a GT 610 if were to download NVIDIA drivers then it's 391.35 WHQL. I don't think they allow just the standard drivers only anymore, or I don't see any available if trying to keep GeForce out but you can manually install the NVIDIA drivers for your preference uses. Download 391.35 (Tue Mar 27, 2018) W10 64-bit 445.39MB (US): www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/132845/ If need to manually search a driver for a different NVIDIA GPU: www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us So again, for a supported driver with a GT 610 (dedicated graphics) is 391.35 WHQL. It could be that the card is getting too hot, try cleaning it or replacing thermal paste. Also make sure you have the latest supported drivers installed.

Yes I would recommend getting 1GB version if you can find it cheaper but if they're the same price then just get 2GB. This card is not powerful and won't utilize all of the memory anyway. Hope that helps!

If you overclock it to around 975-985 mhz, the FPS dramatically increases. Maybe try overclocking with cam or msi afterburner

Well, at least for rendering in blender using cycles CUDA this card is half the speed of my core i3 3220.

I got the Asus GT 610 for watching videos and it's fan-less and makes no noise. I tested it with 6K and 8K video it plays. It struggles with 10K

You have the mobile version of this GPU, it's less powerful than desktop version that's why you're getting lower FPS than what I show in the video.

Yes I would recommend getting 1GB version if you can find it cheaper but if they're the same price then just get 2GB. This card is not powerful and won't utilize all of the memory anyway.
