Ah, the artist's paradox, where you stare at your work for so long it no longer feels special, and you were there to see it go from a single sketchy line to a masterpiece, so you can't tell just how good it really is. Meg, I promise you, this is an outstanding and amazing build, avoid looking at it for a few months, and then when you come back, you will baffle yourself!
I didn't realise the UA-camr was called MegRae as I didn't see the account before reading this comment and had a jump scare cus I'm called Meg. 😅 Think I'm gonna subscribe just cus of this though
Dust... you took the time to make the attic dusty. DUST! I had to rewind a couple times because i just kept saying DUST... my goodness this is exquisite.
22:06 i think thats part of the charm, there is something uniquely dreamlike about this build. From the piercing eyes on the house, to the oversized steps to the mansion, to the over-glamorized yet super cozy interior, to the thematics of the moon and time. Where the hell are we? It feels like something a child dreamt up, like a setting for a Ghibli movie.
ive been watching minecraft vids since 2012, this is probably somewhere in the top 10 coolest most memorable MC builds ive seen. Its not even about the scale or the detail, but the character and how clever it is. Serious props.
nah cause this is so fire. i know there's bare people out there who still think mc is just a game for kids but this video proves it can be a place to make art like any other software
My regular viewers know it, but there’s a reason the simpler build get more noticed. It’s what most associate Minecraft with. We live in our own creative bubble
Nah this is crazy. The best part is it's not only impressive from a technical standpoint, it's also very unique, never seen a building with photorealistic eyes before.
This is absolutely MINDBLOWING! I've seen and built lots of Minecraft projects, so I'm not easily impressed anymore, sadly. And I've been following you for quite a while now, so I'm already familiar with your building style. And yet, I'm speechless. This is pure art and nobody is gonna change my mind about it. Thank you for posting this on YT. I'll be waiting for the tree's tutorial you talked about
Wow. This popped up in my algorithm, never seen your channel before. I stayed for the whole video. That was geniunly impressive and amazing to watch. Your hard work and dedication was well worth it, I love the end result! Keep up your great work 💜
This is one of the craziest, most interesting builds I've ever seen! I was a bit skeptical of suggesting the lighting through block choice and texture, but the result is astonishing! I so glad I found this channel!
This is a buckwild, awesome looking thing. EDIT: YOU MADE AN INTERIOR?! I understand wholesale what you mean about your own work losing its shine from your perspective, but... You spent 150 hours looking at not only this thing, but all of its skin, bones and gross bits! I used to do pixel art and seeing the techniques I learned for that applied to this is absolutely buckwild. I love it, it's beautiful, it caries so much of your care and attention and as someone who has done the nickel and diming process of weighing cost-benefit of time spent vs art produced? I don't think you've wasted a cent.
This is the most incredible thing I've ever seen built in Minecraft. I know there are much bigger and possibly prettier builds, but this has such a FEELING to it. Thank you so much for expressing yourself and sharing this inspiring build with the world ❤
Seeing the build rotating at the end of the video makes me think of the photorealistic resin dioramas people like Thalasso hobbyer make and post videos following the creation of - because this is absolutely stunning and definitely in their league. The only difference if that people can't physically hold it.
You are one of my biggest inspirations in minecraft building, i hope one day to be able to build this good, minecraft building has always been my number one hobby since i was atleast 8 years old, and seeing so many beautiful builds by amazing builders nowadays on Instagram and UA-cam has given me so much inspiration to up the ante. Thanks to all the builders like you, making tutorials, showing their process, or just posting their builds
First of all, WOW! I have never seen anything like this. I am inspired, mostly by your dedication and commitment to complete this enormous project. I am reminded once again of how versatile the game of Minecraft can be. You brought art to a new level.
MegRae always reminding me that there is more to learn in this game, and to never stop pushing the boundaries of the blocks. Thank you always for being an inspiration!
I don’t know if you know about the game Vintage Story, but it is similar ish to minecraft, costs about 18 euros, and comes with voxel chiselling, side slabs, world editing in creative, and extreme mod support as well. I would love to see what sort of things you could create in it, as it allows things like building statues the same size as the player, arches and curves at the small scale, and a roughly 1:1 accuracy at the 1.5 inch scale rather than the 1 meter scale. Vintage Story can only be bought from the website and maybe a couple other stores, but not on steam, it is still in the early access stage (though the mechanics and handling don’t feel early access) and the devs incorporate mods as well as their own work into updates. I hope you check it out, I think you could make some incredible art in it.
The build looks amazing and the forest around it just as much, but what really caught my attention was how skilled you are at texturing. Even on flatter parts of the build like the roof, the way you texture it adds so much detail. It's so impressive!
I think I genuinely have a favorite Minecraft build now!!!! The colors of this build are just intimidating in a way that locks you in makes you wanna stare at it just in case it decides to do something out of the ordinary .
The last few shots, I was imagining coming upon this place deep it a forest. So eerie. This is an amazing build. And you're process kept me hooked. ❤❤❤
First of all this is incredible, I'm totally doing something like this for a base in the future. Reminds me of the urge to build I got when I saw my first minecraft castle a decade ago.
This is stunning, genuinely. I have to say in response to your query, or conundrum, about whether or not this build was worth it; I think that you acknowledging the fact that you learned something, and were able to recognize that, means that it was indeed worth it. I personally wouldn’t be so fixated on the time you spent since there are so many different factors that affect the rate at which we learn. I know for a fact that I’ve spent hundreds of hours on some games and barely learned anything valuable. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t call the time I spent, and the amount I learned, insignificant or wasted.
Never heard of your channel but god bless youtube recommended for this, absolutely loved the vid and the build! The wolf head looks incredible, feels like you’re really breaking new ground, and even the inside and environment? Splendid! I build in a completely different style(small very detail heavy buildings) so it’s a delight to get to see such a master work in a completely different style! Much love from Italy!
Wow this is absolutely insane! Do you have any plans to do a more thorough room by room walk-through? I feel like the ending showcase lets us see the outside (which is the main focus) really well, but the inside is stunning too!
am so amazed at everything, the video, the building it self and ofcourse your thoughts and ideas. From a retired builder that thought the same kind of question if its really worth it to put so much time into a build? it really isn't always but sometimes it means more to you than to others and that's okay, its more than okay to express yourself.
i recomend you tat when you make the trees branches do it with axiom mod, because if you select an a build and do Ctrl+x you can go to the side that says "clipboard", in down you can see an a side that say "clipboard propieters" or something similar, and in the side you can prees to a check box that says "unlock rotation", with these option you can rotate the build that you select before to any angle or direction.. I hope this trick works for you :)
I just wanted to say, amazing build, and I love the way you explain your thought process throughout the video! Those trees! All of the trees were wonderful imo. I thought the original spruce was great, you just happened to take it to another level! 😄One of the best builds I've seen in a long time!
The only thing about these trees you could reasonably easily improve is adding some old stumps from broken off branches below where the branches with all the green on them start
This is a masterpiece. You should be paid for your work, you and the artists that contributed the paintings. If you can, put it up on Minecraft Realms and whatever Microsoft has in place for that. It would be a hit. It's stunningly good. Definitely portfolio worthy.
Listen, I have no clue who you are, but, you have the patience that I will never have! I play on Xbox, I’ve tried SO stinking hard to make a mega castle, but my short fuse just won’t let me! Point is, keep on keeping on, and you’ve got a new subscription 😁
I love this soooo much, and I agree with everything you said. Regardless of how many tools a person uses, builds of this scale are still extremely hard to make, and it takes talent and dedication.
I think you should definitely think about selling these preset tree assets as one would do with brushes for programs like photoshop, for example. Youre really a fantastic artist and you should get the credit and the moneez you deserve >:333
My head is gonna EXPLODE Argus is SO. DAMN. COOL. HELLO?? WHERE CAN I BUY THIS HOUSE, I’D LIKE TO LIVE THERE PLEASE. This doesn’t feel like Minecraft in the SLIGHTEST, it feels like a 3d model!
Woww, really amazing build !! Lovely,, full of techs,, very complete in my opinion ! Great editing (as usual),, the musics,, the contributors aspect,, the cinematics here and there,, the final showdown too that i found spectacular,,..... To me it's a reference build ! Incredible "chef d'oeuvre" with the mixed style, bravo

this is straight up the coolest thing ive ever seen built in minecraft. like seriously
