- Is it a bandsaw box? A sculpted bandsaw drill press lathe box? Or was it just an excuse to play with my new toys? Just another skirmish in the war on flat surfaces?

The woods used are walnut for the box, cherry for the drawers, and bubinga for the drawer fronts. The finish is GF Arm-R-Seal Semi-gloss.

So much more fun to watch than computer aided CNC "manufacturing." Love your craftsmanship and artist perspective. You're a wood charmer.

Opens up lots of finish off look. Steampunk to metal modern high end to period pieces, to fantasy. Wine rack to kitchen cabinetry accessory to large window seat, desk top organizer. .

Very cool. I love how it looks. I think the only thing i would change is a way to prevent the drawers from turning so someone doesnt rotate them 180 and then i open them.
I understand what you're saying but it's not really an issue in practice. When you put something in the drawer it's right side up. You slide it back in. There's never any point where it gets rotated unless you do it on purpose.

That form looked like it was a pain to shape, but it looks great from every angle. End grain on the sides works so well with the geometry. +1
Thanks! The back was harder than the front since there's enough of the curved surface left that you can run your fingers over to see if it's a fair curve.

Generally liking your designs, this piece (me thinks) is spot on! All the sculpting and grinding (interesting attachment thingy by the way, the one on the angle grinder or was that a specialty tool perhaps?) it must have been a time consuming project. It's a box as approached by Kevin :-)

Very well done! I agree with other comments as to the superior quality of the video - especially the well-photographed close-ups. Not to mention the high level of craftsmanship. (I also noted that I'm not the only one who has problems drilling deep holes - even with bit extensions. I wonder if floor-standing drill presses have a longer throw?)
Maybe you could do a video to explain a bit more about those shaping tools that you used.
Thanks! Some of the floor standing drill presses have 5-6" throws. I was using an arbortech mini grinder and foredom flex shaft unit.
