So true. We were homeless for nearly a year and couldnt find help from any church, charity and etc. Finally, a stranger allowed us to pay nominal rent to live in his office. Not every homeless person is a drug addict or criminal, folks. I hope this smart lady finds her way out soon.

Monica doesnt want a job....Monica knows the city cant come and take it down. Seems like in the time it took Monica to put up a pool(no powertools my ass, that pool has a pump) and build a privacy screen, she could've been out looking for a new job..but please.....let's just keep going with the bleeding heart attitude towards the homeless. Btw Monica, a LOT of people dont have a pool. It's not something that everyone gets to have. I was in an abusive household when I was younger and was kicked out with nowhere to go. I still don’t even know how I managed to eat something every few days or day. Shelters were scarce and filthy and dangerous. Programs wanted me to admit I was a drug addict when I was sober and homeless. I do remember the worst part was not showering whenever I wanted. Had to find showers at parks with a swim lake, gyms, or sometimes a bowl with an outdoor faucet. I went from being a normal young student, to invisible. People assumed I had gotten myself there due to bad choices. Figured I deserved it. It was crazy. I’m grateful for the young man I met who actually cared for me like a human and not some homeless girl to take advantage of. Got me in an apartment and let me heal. I got counseling and joined a church. Finally married that young man and he takes care of our daughter and I. He turned out to be the sweetest most patient and caring man I’ve ever met. Great job. Great heart. I know not everyone is that lucky, but I totally can relate to this lady’s story. I’ll be praying for you Monica! And everyone else who is homeless. God bless yall

I have compassion and empathy to spare, but not for those that continue to burn their own lives down, and try to take the rest of us with them. Facts: they don't deserve it!

Having a job does not mean "playing by the rules". Many people only work because it is a means to an end. Many working people lie, cheat, steal, abuse their children and beat their wives. They also drink, do drugs, party, and give in to hedonism, don't they? Humans are humans, some are just in a better position to hide their behaviors. I recognized a long time ago that most people don't respect law and order, they just pretend to, and they love to use it as a means to hurt or exploit others. A job is a blessing , and not something to be despised unless it is actually causing you harm. Being able to produce good work, being able to provide for your family, is a good thing, isn't it? Not having to live in a homeless encampment, not being enslaved to addiction, is good. So why do you despise it? You don't have to play by the rules- we all have that choice. I've been on both sides. It was nothing of her doing , yet she's paying the price for his actions. She deserves to be shown some respect. For caring and trying to help others when she has so little herself. I wish more people were like her. It would make for a better world we live in. If I could help I would. But I'm on a limited income. But maybe there's others out there who could.
