Yessir, Love the china choke, chinas as crashes, subtle splash. I very much agree. The crash rolls and bell ride at the end is interesting; the end must be pretty drawn out dark and mellow.

Hey Dave, I’m Gavin. I’m a 15 year old drummer and I first discovered you and Pearl Jam when I was around 8 years old. The way you played really inspired me and ever since then I’ve been continuing to try and improve. I love the energy and passion you put into playing and I think that’s a big part of your style I like to incorporate into mine.
I am currently working on getting better with my footwork to improve my bass drum speed. Is there a certain pedal you would recommend? (I know you like the DW’s.)
To wrap this all up I just wanna thank you for everything cause without you and Sean Kinney I don’t know that I’d be playing right now. Pearl Jam isn’t the same without you man! Thanks- Gavin🤘

Hey Dave, What are those two mini chinas you're using to your left and right? Thanks to you back in the early '90s, I've become a big fan of china cymbals.
They can be such a powerful musical cymbal, right? On the right, over the floor toms, it’s a Sabian 14 inch. Over the hats it’s a Centent 14 inch. I change then up often and I dig the little 6, 8 and 10's too!
@@FreeAssRecords To me, chinas are the spice in cymbals. Been a huge fan of them ever since I heard them used by you way back in the day.

Of course! It was a big influence during my early years. It was early Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc... Then I got into Merciful Fate, King Diamond, etc..
