Kudos to game the game for sharing a pretty unknown game. In fact, I've been impressed with how many brand new games you've been featuring, because it's a lot more exciting to discover a game while watching you play it than to see a game that there's already a million videos for and that most people have tried.
They feature a lot of kickstarter games as paid promotions. Kickstarter board games can be really hard to get once the kickstarter is over.
@@Algous27 If the game is well-received when it's distributed, they may choose to do another production run (and then another, and then another). Once the company has enough cash to support a production run up front, they might end up being available direct from the publisher without going through Kickstarter -- but that's a lot of ifs and maybes to get through!
This is an absolute sleeper hit. I backed it, but I really hope it hits retail (I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to-maybe they mention that in this video, haven’t started it yet). It was a well handled campaign with the only KSE’s being component upgrades and won’t effect gameplay. I hope for online retail success for these guys.
@@mauriceoksman8594 we will have to agree to disagree...I thought it was a niche game unecessaarily complicated
skyblaze eterno, I respect how you put forth your opinion and I can totally see where you’re coming from-I’m not saying it’s going to be as universal a hit as Blood Rage. Keep in mind I’m talking about people attracted to this sort of hybrid game; I think you’re on the same page as me on that (ie, this is definitely not a sleeper for someone who prefers splendor level complexity and game style). To expand on my original comment, I think there’s something here bigger than it’s original attention garnished-a lot of that has to do with the company size and the saturation of the market. Back to your point in terms of over-complication, I do see it on the heavier side of euro than most hybrids, but no more complicated than the obviously euro marketed Barrage, that was highly anticipated-albeit again, by a different audience. I think this is one of those games that you need at least one ‘practice play-though’ to really get, not to mention the fact that I had to listen to the instructions video at 75% speed to even remotely understand the rules-IMO the host has a tendency to explain games SUPER fast, and one of my constructive criticisms for her would be to slow down. Although again, it depends how you learn-personally I learn best when I actually play it. I think this game will ultimately appeal to those who enjoy heavier games like those from MindClash Games (Anachrony, Cerebria, Trickerion), but also enjoy a rich theme. There is a push towards ‘Streamlining’ everything in games now because of the amount of games flooding the industry. Most reviewers are constantly overwhelmed by the amount of games that come out, so, understandably, they have low tolerance for what you refer to as fiddlyness...I think there are a lot of gamers like myself who’ve gotten over FOMO for the most part, and would instead play 1 good in depth game, than 4 light-medium games. So yeah, I think we’re both ‘right’-I think a lot of people will find this ‘too heavy’, but I think that with the right marketing and exposure that this game has enough legs to offer something to a lot of gamers. Not to mention the high production value for a small company. I also highly respect the fact that the campaign avoided the gimmicky route of offering KS exclusive gameplay material-all KSE were just component upgrades so I think a lot of people passed waiting to see how it panned out. The creator is played the long game by avoiding the quick buck associated with KSE’s. Creator integrity is highly important to me and I know it is to a lot of other gamers-I know plenty of people who outright avoid any game with KSEs just recognizing the ridiculousness of it all and what it has become. Ultimately he invested in gameplay-Hoping upon release, enough people would try it/see it and want it. There are some that will skip because of the complexity, but at the very least they’ll walk over to the table it’s being played because of its table presence alone. Then, I believe there will be those that fall in love with it, maybe not right away, but kind of like Raiders of the North Sea, where it took enough word of mouth and people playing it to realize there was something really special there, when originally all they saw was yet another Viking themed worker placement.
Game looks complicated as all hell but the art and the minis are beautiful. Props to the artist!
Yay, Sam's playing! I'M EXCITED!
Awesome session! Watching you guys play is soooo much fun!
Can't wait to get my game!
Question: What's the music used? I love having background music in my game play and the music used here is pretty awesome for this game.
The Artwork alone is worth buying that game!
Love when the "parents" play their own game. It's clarifying and nice to watch their strategies.
Nice chill video. I can understand why some people are turned away from the game, due to the tremendous amount of bookwork, game terms, lacking mini components, and constant rule checking. This game is not for everyone.
But it has fans. The art and thematic stuff is fantastic. And a lot of HEART went into it. I'd say give it a shot, as it plays a a lot smoother after a few times.
this game looks so fun and is aesthetically pleasing to boot!
Yikes, that how to play was posted back in May. 8 months of suspense, but worth it ♥️
Great playthrough with excellent bunch of players 👍🤩
Gorgeous game! I'll add that to my must-buy list
Proud backer of the game! Looking forward to future delivery, and super stoked you guys got to play and display with the G&S/Alpha gang. Had a game play question that confused me right at the start.
When Tom played Auraghast using first ability, he and Sam both contributed one etherea, while the card states that the chosen player is supposed to contribute two. Was this an error, or the intended "spirit" of the card?
I love that sweater, Becca! That is a nice sweater!
Hey, could you let us what soundtrack is playing in the background? Thanks 🙂
This game looks awesome! Does any one know were one could get a copy?
Even after watching the how to play I have no idea what's going on
Yeah it seems very very overly complicated for no reason at first; but after a few plays it flows nicely. It's not for everyone.
I’m trying to set it up still and don’t fucking get it?
It's because they allow creepy hipsters to gofundme make games. They need to stop these guys from creating these headaches.
Nice, Its always good to see the G&S notification to pop up. Might have to check this game out with my group. We always look for things to do when we are not recording our RPG content to keep it fun!
I am very excited to receive kickstarter copy!
I miss this show
I wanna get this but there isn't a pledge button for it on Kickstarter, does that mean I've missed my chance?
I would like to know the very same thing....
Is Mica wearing a top with symbols from chartered magic? From the earth nix old kingdom books??
Would love to get the game but i can't find how to purchase it anywhere.
It was a Kickstarter project that is coming to retail later this fall.
34:43 "Let's take a little bone."
Becca’s hair is fierce!!
I don`t understand one thing... is this a 4 players or a 5 players game? i mean there are occasions when pictures show a box saying 5 players but said description mention 4 players and vice versa (box says 4 players, description says 5). All in all if i want to get the 5 players variant (with the extra metal tokens) where should i look for ?
Was the Auraghast card played correctly? It says choose any player (not players) to pay 2 Etherea. In the video he paid one and she paid one.
I’d love to get this but where can you buy it?
It was a Kickstarter... ended back last May
Well that sucks
@@christianwright5813 yeah... i accidentally on purpose backed it. Still haven't received it... soon though.
Maybe check out the court of the dead website? Or the sideshow collectibles site?
It was a kickstarter I backed it it will be to us probably April and then for sale soon after
Awesome video
I’m a simple person I see Sam Í pick that video
Is you play the game with the maker of the game and the maker lose is that mean the game is good or bad ?
It means the game is balanced and doesn't make it impossible for newbies to win just because they don't know all of the nooks and crannies
goth Sam > cyberpunk Sam > starfleet Sam.
didn't Taliesin make her a vampire in his one-shot?
when Matt opened the door and went *poof!*
IDK
vampires were involved, that's for sure.
I am translating the cards and manual into Spanish so that more people can play it.
I would appreciate any help to translate, there are words like Dreadsbane and Dreadsgrip that I don't know how to translate to spanish.
Thank you very much to all of you.
Looks great etc. But the micro managements kills it for me.
I don't like games, with a lot of bookkeeping.
I think this game is too complicated for me but I can still appreciate the aesthetic haha
Why did they stop including the how to play?
Maybe it has something to do with UA-cam compensation (since you now have to watch 2 vids)?
Was gonna buy this game but I guess it was kickstarter only, Oof so much for that :/
If the game is well-received, they may eventually do a second "printing" and sell it -- either retail or through a second Kickstarter.
@@bigdream_dreambig Hopefully. This game is really awesome
Not a fan of the down time per turn... Gameplay looks nice.
Becca is like... super pretty.
Musta missed the how to play...
It was 8 months ago.
What aren't the minis painted?? The creator of the game, the game from Sideshow, and the minis aren't painted??
The quality of the smaller miniatures is very lacking. There was a kickstarter update recently that showed close ups and they look like someone melted the detail off of them with a heat gun. Everyone is extremely disappointed but it's how the game will ship. - TL;DR they are not detailed enough to paint.
Wish Mika hadn't left achievement Hunter :(
I don’t see a how to play?
Edit: never mind it was like forever ago
yea they really need to put the how to play video in the description if they are gonna keep separating them hre's a link ua-cam.com/video/rvVwzijQCaM/v-deo.html
@@WardNightstone It actually _is_ in the description.🤷♂️
Sideshow. Bob. ❤. 777777. ❤.
lore, hmm something makes me think there was some recreational substances used.
🙄 Creativity does not require drug use. We've lost too many artists (of all stripes) to that myth.
Where’s hhhwill hhhwheaton?
I'm crushing on Becca, I know shes married, but send me to the fiery pits cause I'm coveting. Those eyes are amazing..
Mmmmmmmmmmica
Paid WAY too much for this game. Needlessly complicated for a meeple placement/territory control game.
An excellent example of what happens when you have TOO many game mechanics in One game.
Lol well that's what you get when you have hipsters make a game wanting something they think is "goth" cool. I barely got 10 mins in the video before seeing how boring it is. Same thing with Cthulhu Wars. Unfortunately I watched the whole video on that one.
@@nemomortis1866 jeez play more games besides monopoly, don't bring your toxic influence into this community with your "anyone who enjoys complex board games is a hipster" bullshit.
@@SaintMoonMoon and yet the person who bought the game even called it crap and you get on my ass because of a opinion on why these modern games are not profitable. Lol I play alot of games outside of monopoly. Including the real one that was stolen by Parker Bros. Lol
I miss will
Becca Scott lookin' particularly delicious. I love her vibe and humor. I only now realize she is left handed.
First comment
Who's the brave soul that's gonna go correct ultra Instinct shaggy?
U don't deserve to know, mortal.
Seems a boring game
I swear, the host talks just to hear herself talk. Much annoyance.
I agree. That other female is cringe.
Why yall got a skinhead on?
Do most people not have skin on their head?
That tree thingy is pretty much this game's universe's version of Yggdrasil. xD lol
But definitely looks like an AWESOME game. ^^
