So sorry to hear you didn’t break even with your expenses! The dealer’s alley really is in the worst area of this convention. Not sure why they charge so much to be there vs the Artist alley. I hope you enjoy your trip to Tokyo!
Yeah I’m really bummed it wasn’t as magical as people told me! But I wasn’t the only one, which makes me feel better as a small business, you know? Someday I’d like to try again… just not in the dealer alley 😂
So sorry this con didn't work for you! As for the heckler, I am just getting over COVID-19 so it is still alive and well. So excited for your shop reopening!
I recently discovered your channel and I've been loving your post-con breakdowns! I got so excited to see you went to FanX, it's my home show. However, Dealer's Hall at FanX was a doozy for both myself and all my other friends who had vended there--but artist alley has always been amazing, so if you're willing to give it another shot in the artist alley next time then hopefully it'd be better! I'm sorry it wasn't a good show for you ;w;
That’s what I heard too about the artist alley! I did fill out the vendor survey and hopefully they take the feedback into serious consideration. And I had so many people tell me this is a great con, and my curiosity is piqued too much to write it off completely, but I’ll probably give it a few years before I try to come back.
I've been WAITING for this vlog. I love to hear people's experience with travelling to shows as someone who also travels. Also did you get a new camera?! The quality upgrade!!!
I'm glad the vlog was anticipated!! It was a fun one to shoot, that's for sure. And not a new camera, but a new phone!! Isn't that last clip super nice??? I'm excited to level up my videos with it~
I just found this channel and I love it!! I am considering flying for some cons soon, so thank you so much for these videos! As a side note, I had tried applying to Fan X for Artist Alley but then they told me they would put me in the dealers room.. and twice the price of the AA table? I don't really understand what their thought process was with all that, or if all the AA tables were sold out.. Not sure. I did end up going as an attendee and I remember your booth!! Sorry it didn't end up working out though! That con was honestly too big I think..? it was hard to focus on things and I didn't even see it all.
I’m so glad, thank you for checking out my content~ Yeah that’s basically how I ended up with this table too! The price point is ridiculous and really hurt me, plus it wasn’t advertised well. But I love that you remembered my booth!
Ive recently found you and i always wait so patiently for a new video. I get so excited! I cant wait to hopefully meet you one day at a convention i go too and can say hello! Love your art btw, its beautiful!!
@@LeSpiritDesigns You're very inspiring and i hope to be on your level one day, never give up! Also i live in the northern Ohio area, I know the next big con i plan on going to is Colossalcon. Its not till next year but i know ill be at that one 100% :D
Sorry to hear about the con! At least Tokyo will be all for pleasure and not business, so I hope you get time to wind down and enjoy yourself. As for the heckler, that sucks as well. Everytime I walk out of a con, I always feel disgusting and sick. You're absolutely right to look out for yourself. Also, I love that you're always coming up with new ways to innovate your shop! Hope it's an absolute success. :D
Thank you so much for all your kind words! I’m really looking forward to our trip, and I’m going to vlog it too so everyone can come with us vicariously! And RIGHT cons are icky even before the pandemic! I may never stop masking at them 😂
This is my home con, and honestyl I don'tsee a reason for artists to even use the dealers alley. It seems to be more the place people buy retro merch, props, bags, etc, so I think it may just be better to be in the place where everyone is looking to buy art in the artist alley. I mean theoretically maybe they think that your booth will stand out more for not being surrounded by other artists, but I think the dealer's alley may only be really profitable for figure resellers and big merch vendors, and the artist alley is better because that's where everybody sort of goes to at the end to mass scout for prints and keychains they want to buy. If and when I eventually get a booth at FanX, I will definitely just buy an artist alley spot. Also yes, it is very common for people to stick around without buying, or waiting until the last day to buy prints. I do it myself as I never have the budget to buy all I want, so I end up just taking a lot of business cards and photographic the QR codes to artis' websites.
Sucks that the con didn't pan out the way you hoped. It's awesome you took a chance though ^-^ Ugh the hecklers, covid is still a large issue but people also forget other illnesses. People are getting sick left and right rn bc of the change in season. It's that time of year.
I dont understand how this con is justifying the higher prices for the booth. Its not making sence to me and probably not to you either. Im going to try giving my first booth a go sometime soon i think. Trying to find a craft fair to setup at. Your videos have been helping me a ton with ideas of how to set up and what to look for in quality products. When i have the money, ive been highly wanting to join your patreon 😁😁😁
It was a VERY expensive booth… I would love to know their justification for it 🥲 And ahhh good luck to you!! I hope my videos are able to help in some way to make it a great first experience!

Oh no, I hope you’re recovering quickly! I’ve been very fortunate to not catch it, and I’m doing my darndest to keep it that way, haters be damned 😅

Yeah I was glad to take the chance! It was an important learning experience to undergo. And RIGHT I don’t want anyone’s germs!!
Nice business adventure!
Too bad it didn't turn out as you hoped for! Keep your head up!
Yeahhhh it was a real bummer, but hopefully my next few shows won’t be bad 🥲

Sorry friend!!! Chalk it up to experience and you'll do great at the next one!
Yeah that’s all I can do at this point!! At least I can always count on sacanime~
Big oof. I've heard so many bad things about this year's SL, versus last year's was god level for everyone who went.
It had to be all the celebs! I heard there were like 20 more than previous years, and the autograph area was super packed all weekend.
@@LeSpiritDesigns All the money went to the millionaires. Sounds aboooout right haha.
