i kinda hate when people say "are you back to your pre-pregnancy body"... and im not even a mom haha, but come on, your body just created a human! of course it won't be the same!!!
Recovery is different for each woman. I didn’t feel “recovered” until 6/7 weeks and I kept hearing how fast other women recovered and it really put me down and I believe caused me ppd. I felt something was wrong with me because I wasn’t doing as much as other moms who bounced back quickly. Just putting that out there in case there is a mom who’s recovery takes longer than 3 weeks. Everyone is different and don’t be so hard on yourself.
So true. 3 weeks to feel back to normal and lose the baby weight is not at all common. Especially if you had tearing or an episiotomy. It took me about 8 weeks to be able to walk normally without pain. Same for all my mum friends.
I was one of those abnormal people who bounced back very fast. But I think it was because it runs in my family for women to bounce back fast. I think genes have a part to play in it and we shouldn't even be worried about our bodies. I didn't know I "bounced back" until people kept pointing it out because I wasn't focused on it. But nonetheless women need to get in their heads before becoming pregnant that they may or may not be the same post partum. Everyone is different and that's ok. But it does make me feel bad that women talk down on other women who did bounce back just because their body is different. Not saying you are just that I've heard that before. I was accused of taking diet pills or something like that, women questioned me saying "what doctor actually allowed you to start working out before your 6 week check up?" which I wasn't at all. But it seemed like I got hate for recovering fast as if it was bad to, and losing most of the weight right away. So I think it goes both ways. We all need to be supportive of each other because we are all mom's, well those of us who are anyway.
So true! 6 weeks PP now after a long labour and episiotomy. Was back in hospital on 2 occasions with open wound and infections and I am still very sore now... hoping the sore / tender feeling goes away soon! Recovery is never spoken about and I totally underestimated how long and hard it would be! There’s definitely a pressure on new mothers to bounce back and it’s just not possible. Rest and live in your “baby bubble” while you recover. Don’t feel pressure to go out and about wearing your skinny jeans just because someone on Instagram might be! ☺️ xx
I didn’t fully recover for 6 months! I had three degree tearing and I have complications with my stitches. I still have and extra 20 pounds to go and I’m 10 months post!
I just watched this because now my son is 6 mo, & it’s insane how every single thing you touched on with Julian is exactly what I went thru/going thru with my son! From the horrific painful labor that I’m traumatized from, to my son being a big boy too (he wears 9&12 mo clothes), LOVES Mickey & the hot dog dance, sleeping/feeding routine, & I look at all the photos I took every night in bed also!! Glad to know we’re on track! Great video, hope you do a 12 month one since you’re a few months ahead of me!
I always heard people say you feel better at 2 weeks pp andi waited and waited for that but at 2 weeks pp I still felt like CRAP. 3 weeks is where it’s at! Love how open and honest you are about all of this and helping other moms and moms to be. It’s so hard with social media and people of influence talking about how easy it is and how amazing their bodies are after baby. It’s great some people are able to feel that way pp but it’s nice to see people open up about how their bodies are different since, just like mine. Thanks 😘
The moment you started talking about how much you love him, your voice started changing. I thought "how precious, she's getting emotional". Alex, it never goes away. My kids are 12 and 15, and I'm still in awe that my heavenly father looked past all of my imperfections and chose me to be their mom. I can't accomplish anything else in life that comes close to God trusting me to raise these precious humans that he blessed us with. Enjoy every second, it goes quickly 😘😘😘
I know how you feel, I had a really terrible labor and delivery, I was really scared and in so much pain. It was tough to get over the experience. I still don’t like to talk about it because it brings up so much emotions. I’m happy and blessed that baby came out healthy and I got through it.
He such a cute chunky boy! My son is 11 months old and still just under 21 lbs. it’s so funny to see babies on completely different ends of the growth charts.
My baby is 2 months and you’re so right when you say you don’t know how much you’ll love you baby until you have them and that’s so true! Love hearing the updates on Juju!
Your son is the most precious thing I’ve ever seen! I don’t have kids and wasn’t ever sure if I wanted them but your bundle of joy makes me want a baby. That smile, little baby teeth, and big blue eyes are mesmerizing!
Being a mom looks so good on you. You’re glowing from the inside out❤️ I totally understand about not knowing how much you’ll love your baby until you meet them. My son is 4 months and I never knew how much I could love someone!
He’s getting soooo big so fast!!!! He’s so cute! You guys should totally finish your basement and have your office down there and use your office space now as his play room! I love your house it’s so beautiful
You can definitely tell how happy as a mother you are and how much you love him! You are so right, being a mother is the most wonderful thing ever and there is just nothing else like it! 😊
When you started talking about Julian and how much you guys love him.. I immediately started getting emotional.. I mean any parent can relate on so many levels... parenting is one of the most challenging yet rewarding things you’ll ever do in your life. Being a mommy has helped mold me into the woman i am Today and she’s truly brought the best out in me. My husband & are pretty young parents 25 & 27 we have enjoyed every minute of parenthood while still nourishing our marriage.. traveling, date nights, etc! It’s nice to hear and see other young couples and parents such as ourselves going with the flow of life and parenthood! Love watching you guys. My husband and I always say you guys are our friends just don’t know it! 😆😘 xo.
You guys are such great and loving parents. It shows that Julian is so cared for. My daughter is 7 and when she’s at school or when my husband and I go on a date, all we do is look at pictures and videos of her.
Julian is adorable, you guys are such a cute family! It’s crazy how alike we are with parenting! We don’t have a strict routine, we like to go with the flow, and it’s worked for us! And every stage is my favorite, like you said, it’s sad yet amazing to watch them grow and learn. I love mom life!
Thank you for touching on the postpartum body. Our bodies change so much during pregnancy and birthing our children. My hips are wider and my belly area sounds the same as yours. I was so hard on myself at first for not getting back into my pre-baby clothes as fast as I thought. Thank you for your honesty and this video! It was awesome!
Yessss totally agree on the love for your baby 😍 I continue to get more and more obsessed with my son! we do the same thing and watch videos of him after he goes to bed 😂 they just make our hearts so full! ❤️
Hiiiiii I'd love to see your version of a toddler must-haves or toddler essentials video in your motherhood series. I have loved watching your motherhood journey and my little one is just a couple of months younger than Julian. Love your videos!
You guys should totally finish your basement! That will be so exciting to have a whole new part of your home! I’ve heard it makes your home feel new again! I love these videos and love your honesty!! Thanks for sharing your journey 💕
Every single birth experience of mine was different . i had 1 horrible experience and the rest was a breeze. So 1 out of 4 is not so bad. Dont let it scare you, never know how next time will be :)
Sarah Gomez I had 1 bad experience out of 3 😧, the bad experience was the anesthesiologist couldn’t get my epidural in place he tried 4 times and messed my back up so bad!! It was literally black and blue all around the spot where the epidural goes, anddd 4th try and still didn’t get it so all that pain for NOTHING and then delivered feeling everythinggg after having my first 2 with an epidural it was crazy, I thought I was going to die so kudos to the moms who strive to do it all natural
@@kaitlynann3696 i had 2 with epideral and 2 none. I had an experience just like yours but adding the fact that the doctors were pulling my son out of me instead of me pushing!! Was bad but the others perfect. So crazy every mom has a different experience. Its amazing! 💖
You're adorable, and the love in your voice and your smile when you talk about baby Julian is just so beautiful. You're a wonderful mom, and just watching you talk about your baby made me smile. Loved it. ❤️
Omg the same thing happened to me with my stretch marks. My whole pregnancy I took care of what I ate, and all of a sudden I just had them. I think it was the hardest thing to accept about my pregnancy. I’m slowly getting over it and feeling better about it, but it was rough. I started watching you a little after I found out I was pregnant because you were like 4 months ahead of me. Watching your videos really helped. Thank you
Having a play room is the best. We have a “sun room” in our house and turned it in to a play room for our oldest when we moved in. Now she will have to share it with her baby sister, but she doesn’t mind. 😄 Also, I said I wouldn’t ever have another child either because I’m not a fan of being pregnant. But 7 years later my husband and I had our last child. It’s the most amazing thing watching my oldest with her baby sister. So much love 💛
I secretly was so happy to hear about your stretch marks story because the same thing happened to me! My son is 3 months old and literally his due date came and he did not haha but the stretch marks did! They popped overnight! At first I was so sad about getting them but like you said now I don’t really care! Having this beautiful guy is worth everyone!
My kids are are a little less than 4 years apart and it’s so nice having that gap! My son is 4 and I just had a baby 6 months ago also.. He is so independent and makes things a lot easier I think.
You look so fabulous and I appreciate your honesty about your post baby body. You seriously look the same to me as you did before and I never would have guessed- I would of thought it was just easy for you to get back where you started!
I would highly recommend finding a baby gym class or a baby music class for you guys to go to. They’re usually about 45 minutes to an hour it would get Julian out of the house and get him some experience with music or movement and it’s really fun for the parents too, you get to meet other parents that are around you and maybe make some connections. Are used to love to go to those with the boy I nannies :) We also took advantage of a lot of the free story time/play groups at our local library if you guys have a quality library I’m sure they have something going on for babies!
What a precious baby boy....you are such a Loving cuddly Mom . I love it! Y’all are a fab family. The next six months will be so amazing! Enjoy all of it. My son is in his 40’s now but those by memories stay with me forever. That is a remarkable love, t
I was pregnant around the same time you were but i delivered in May. Honestly thank you for this video because a lot of the things you talk about really helped me feel better. I was so obsessed about how my body looked after because my son didn't come when he was supposed to and I also got stretch marks, but i do feel better now. Thank you so much! Yes i feel the same way, I feel like my life is 1000x better with my son in my life. It's an amazing feeling being a mom.
I have stretch marks from my pregnancy on both of my hips and I call them my mommy marks. I thought I would hate them but as they’ve lighten up I honesty I love them. I feel so confident showing them off as weird as that sounds !
Everyone has their delivery story. My first scared me and I was traumatized and did not want another. I ended up in the OR with a c-section. And then I had a second baby and that pregnancy and delivery was super easy and fast (scheduled c-section). I don’t regret it. I’m super thankful that I have two babies to have each other as they grow.
Julians so big and so handsome! Routines are very good for babies and children for a sense of security. Some parents make and revolve their lives around their babies and others just fit them into Thier lives I guess. Dont get me wrong you guys are great parents! Hope to see more of Julian.
I definitely agree with the 3 week postpartum thing. I thought I had the baby blues but really it was just me being a new sleep deprived momma trying to learn how to nurse but when my son was born but after he was 3 weeks old I fell in love with him and the rest is history. He’s my world and I love that little dude!! 💙💙💙💙
Babies go through sleep regressions at 4 months, 6 months and 12 months so Julian is right on track! When they’re a newborns, they always sleep in a deep sleep of state. But at 4 months is when they change and start to sleep in sleep stages like us (light sleep, deep sleep) so the change can mess up their normal sleep schedule temporarily. Babies up until a year old should only be bathed max of 3 times a week as a daily bath will dry out their sensitive skin. Our babies are only a couple weeks apart so our journeys were almost exactly coinciding! I loved watching your videos about pregnancy and especially the birth. I know you mentioned it was a hard time for you, but it was especially a beautiful experience for me to watch as i was just about to experience the same thing ❤️. Oh yeah, babies aren’t ready to eat at 4 months as their digestive organs aren’t fully developed yet. Julian was telling you it wasn’t time yet! Your family vlogs are my favorite to watch so keep them coming!! Cant wait to watch Julian grow and compare to my baby haha 😃❤️
My baby just turned 6 months and literally EVERYTHING you said we have gone through. The foods, the sleeping, the getting bored with toys all of it. When you were talking all I could think was "Is she living in my house?"
I had a traumatic birth experience too but that didn't deter me from having another child, although I waited 5 years later. Now my whole world revolves around my kids! You never really know real unconditional love until you've had kids 😍
It’s an excersaucer... the name of that thing they sit/stand in and play with all the attached toys! 😊. You should see about getting a little crib piano for his crib. It lights up, plays piano or cow noises! They kick and play! My son LOVED IT!! He is Now a music major and they University is paying him to go to their school... 😇
My daughter just turned 6 months and it’s so nice to know we weren’t the only ones who went through a sleep regression at 6 months! 😀 my daughter’s lasted almost 2 weeks, waking up 3 times a night.
I had 3 of my children in my 20s and my 4th is 5 months and I’m 32 now and with my other 3 I lost the weight super fast and this time I just can’t get the weight off but it’s ok I’ll get there eventually just take time and enjoy ur child so don’t compare urself to anyone else bc ur beautiful the way u are !!!! So if anyone else feels like ur struggling it’s ok ur not alone !!! 💗
If you haven’t tried Vitamin E oil with a few drops of lavender essential oil on your stretch marks you should try it! I’ve been doing it every night and my stretch marks are getting a lot lighter. My OB recommended it and it’s working for me.
Yes! Whatever age they are is always my favorite! My daughter is 4 now and I have loved every stage. My son is 7 months old now and I just want time to slow down with him because he is our last and the stages are flying by so fast!
So beautiful! I completely agree with you! Same thing happen to me the week prior to my due date woke up with stretch marks and I did everything to prevent I just thing it’s genetic but like you said it is like whatever you eventually except it. 😊❤️ he is so adorable ❤️
Our son is also 6 months old and we've already had to lower his crib to the lowest setting since he is standing in his crib 😭 It goes so fast! Awesome job mama!
I have a 6 month old right now and to get her to nap in her room better during the day we bought blackout curtains and make it as dark as possible and its made all the difference in the world! Just a tip if you are interested in him napping in his crib.
God Bless! Enjoy honestly from personal experience that’s the best stage it gets so much harder emotionally no matter how good of a kid you have as they get older
I had 3 babies and no stretch marks until one week before the 3rd one was born. Darn! I absolutely hated the whole labor and delivery experience. It was a nightmare. I remember being in recovery afterward wondering why anyone would EVER go through it again. But you know, I did. It was way better the other 2 times. Your little son is adorable!
So I am sorry if it's to personal but what birth control are you on or are you thinking of I am debating on which one to go on I know everyone's body is different and reacts differently for everyone but just curious
I had a little Julian myself 6 months ago! I didn’t know what his gender was until birth and I loved following your channel for your pregnancy fashion and baby hauls after I had my son I was on UA-cam one day and saw you also named your son Julian! I love your channel and how relatable you are!
You guys should finish the basement and make it a playroom! My parents did that for my sister and I when we were little and we spent all our time down there!
Mama of three here! Every labor is DIFFERENT, every Pregnancy is DIFFERENT. Don't let a rough scary labor deter you from siblings for Julian! 💙
Does anyone else watch on their tv while scrolling through the comments on their phone? No? Just me? Lol 🙈
I do that all the time!
Lmao that’s exactly what I do!!
Yes and yes doing it now! lol
I do this too lol
??? I can scroll thru comments while watching on my phone! I'm doing it now while watching this video!
i kinda hate when people say "are you back to your pre-pregnancy body"... and im not even a mom haha, but come on, your body just created a human! of course it won't be the same!!!

Julians so big and so handsome! Routines are very good for babies and children for a sense of security. Some parents make and revolve their lives around their babies and others just fit them into Thier lives I guess. Dont get me wrong you guys are great parents! Hope to see more of Julian.
So cute! I’m not a mom yet, but fear the process and the responsibility. Its a major step in life! But it definitely sounds rewarding 😩💕
What a sweet boy ❤️ and incredible Momma you are! Love to see your family grow!
Yay!! So excited to watch!! Juju looks adorable as always 💕
What about napping? How often is he doing that?
I was thinking that too
Thanks for doing this video. Love it! He is adorable!
I can't believe it's been 6 months already! You have looked so beautiful and posed throughout pregnancy and postpartum! GOALS!!! :)
Alex you look wonderful and baby Julian looks healthy and happy ! 💙🧢🍼
My baby just turned 6 months and literally EVERYTHING you said we have gone through. The foods, the sleeping, the getting bored with toys all of it. When you were talking all I could think was "Is she living in my house?"
girl have you changed your eyebrow product recently because i am OBSESSED with it
Julian is just gorgeous and so smiley!!
Omg he is growing so fast😍😍 such a handsome little boy. God bless💕💕💕💕
I had a traumatic birth experience too but that didn't deter me from having another child, although I waited 5 years later. Now my whole world revolves around my kids! You never really know real unconditional love until you've had kids 😍
Your baby👶🏻 is such a cutie!!! 🥰
Your waist looks cinched! 👌🏼#goals
He's such a beautiful bebe! Truly a blessing 💜
You such a great mom wish every kid could be so lucky !
Totally can relate to watching videos and looking at pictures of them once they go to sleep!! 😂 My husband and I do that together as well!
You look unbelievably gorgeous, you seem so happy :)
You should definitely do a day in the life of julian vlog
I love this video, thank you for the tips. Can you do a makeup tutorial on this look?
Have you tried little spoon or Yumi food delivery? Can you do a review on them if you have pls.
I can't get over how big he has gotten. He's so cute and your such an amazing mom
Thanks so much!
Can you please tell me what collagen do you drink ?
Cutest baby I have ever seen!😂😍 love that smile
You’re so genuine I love it!
I just found this video of you and baby Julian such a cute baby boy❤️❣️💕😊🤗😘😍
God Bless! Enjoy honestly from personal experience that’s the best stage it gets so much harder emotionally no matter how good of a kid you have as they get older
You are so beautiful. Julian is so precious and growing so good!
Do a makeup tutorial on that look ??please ❤️
Awesome video! Thank you so much for the update and sharing your life with us..
Did you use a type of PP belt or band to help with recovery??
Love baby Julian!! He’s so handsome!!
You guys should finish the basement and make it a playroom! My parents did that for my sister and I when we were little and we spent all our time down there!
