In this video we demonstrate how to remove mildew stains / spots without using a washing machine. This can be necessary when stroller fabrics / textiles are riveted or sewn directly onto bulky mechanical elements that won't fit in a washing machine.

In order to keep our recommendations up to date, we maintain a 'Buyer's Guide' on our Patreon page (with a wide spectrum of models, and a lot of technical and lifestyle-related information). Organizing our recommendations this way makes it easier to include good models that we haven't made review-videos for yet, as well as to remove models which have developed unforeseen wear-issues over time, or which have been weakened by the manufacturer in their current iterations. You can access it here: www.patreon.com/posts/stroller-buyers-37953864 As an independent, consumer-oriented reviewer, we have fewer revenue-streams open to us than the majority of other channels out there, so we do ask for a small donation for access to this guide (as well as a free consultation and access to our other Patreon content). Thanks so much for your help!

I know people are concerned about fading but I personally would rather a clean mildew free stroller that fades than have my baby sit in something that looks filthy

What if you can't remove the fabric? I just bought a Thule Chariot with mold on the back of the seat which I don't think I can remove.

Hi I need to ask my phil and teds pram hood got stiff after painting. Any idea how the stiffness will go away. By mistake I used normall paint so hood really stiff.

If you used regular paint, you have to get it off first before attempting a fabric paint, if it's acryllic then this means a lot of soap and water and rubbing, if it's oil paint, then that would mean paint-thinner, but the left-over residue from that might not be safe, so in that case I would try to just get another canopy, unfortunately.

That's a sketchy way of asking this question :) All Chlorine will fade all black fabric at the right concentration. What we've found, though, is that quite a lot (though not all) of stroller fabrics can tolerate limited exposure to chlorine for the purpose of removing mildew, without noticable fading. I'm not familiar with the aprica soraria in particular, but I would start with a very watered-down clorine solution applied with just a few drops to a less-visible area of the infected textiles and see what happens in fifteen minutes before rinsing the textiles thoroughly. Depending on the results you can adjust your concentration accordingy, but don't forget that rinsing within a short time-period is always neccessary or you will get fading, regardless of the materials :)
