Spot on analysis. I think that Novak has risen his game to another level, just how effortless he looked on the court it's amazing. Before he was more of a grinder, now he is just a magician on the court.
Very good analysis, another thing is that novak improved his volley so much, forehand volley was perfect yesterday, goran help him si much on serve and volley to have free points. I think that tomorrow against bautista Will be à réal test for him, so against tsitsipas Who is playing very strong.
really liked this type of video! it's definitely hard to believe how good he really is. although i like rafa and roger more overall, Novak is really something special too. Keep up the good work! as a relatively new tennis player, your perspective on the game is invaluable.
Novak is at another level of his game. If anyone want to beat him(GS matches) it has to be in his own game i.e. baseline game. But after doing all this chances of beating him are still very low(except Roger, Rafa and ofcourse Wawrinka) because of his name and experience. New players need to be patient.
Maybe if you went to local doctor or local store you contract it but if you went to US open you would have missed it. I mean its stupid beyond belief. Nadal and Barty shouldn't have pulled the plug and just thought about it.
This is awesome and timely analysis. I would venture to say that most of us do not understand how Djoker got so good or what makes him #1 since he does not have an obvious major weapon outside of his return of serve and his game brain. Have never heard anyone comment on either his unique serve patterns or on his boss constrictor game style as astutely as you do in this video. It sounds like you agree that he does not have any killer strokes like a Rafa forehand but rather his completeness of his game gets into the other player's head. It is hard to appreciate him for the T-Rex that he is but you do a great job of making it clear why he is in fact #1 and extremely hard to beat on most days. Thank you for raising our appreciation of the grit, skill and game smarts that make Djoker an all time great.
Super nice content! Please more. Adding the perspective what a recreational player could adapt would be interesting. Novak has the aura of a final boss in a video game. Obrigado!
Wow such cool content to hear what it is like in 'the bubble' and what makes Novak so good from a fellow players perspective! Does Naomi still play overwatch? I would love to play on her team sometime lol
pity Novak was denied playing this year. he has become my fav player because of his strong convictions and fight for the right to have medical freedom over your body
Really good catch on the serve. There was an article in French sports paper l'equips how he changed his serve in the off-season, and going for slices on 2nd serves rather than kickers. We could already see the outcome of this at the AO.
not a lot of ppl like to hear this but Novak wins because his shots causes forced errors and unforced errors. There are stats to back this up. Most of the highlights shown in this video displays this. Novak knows where to hit his next shot to win the point. he does not have to hit winners just only enough to make his opponent miss. it is a great strategy and also will possibly lead to longevity in his game. i love that you stressed this at 9:52 thanks for the video.

I'm not a fan of Novak but you can't deny he's mastered what he needs to produce a formula for winning tennis matches - I only wish that approach was more exciting to watch as his error-free elicit opponents to miss style is boring (at least to me and all my tennis friends). Attacking win with style like Federer is imo why fans cheer so hard for Fed against Novak. Anyway as you say can't see him losing Cincy or US Open from here.

It is a difficult question because Novak is not bothered by rafa's best shot. I think a big part of it would be rafa being more aggressive with the backhand, flattening it out a bit more. It is a really hard match up for Rafa nowadays
True. The thing with kyrgios is that his serve is so hard to read, not even Novak can do it. Also nick is so unconventional on the court it throws Novak off his game a bit. It's definitely more of a mental battle there
This is the only thing i dont agree with what you said otherwise great stuff. Unless you guys forgot Novak had the elbow issues and lost to much lower ranked players that year. He played Kyrgios twice in 2 weeks in back to back tournaments. One of if not THE worst years of Novaks career since like 2005. Not sure if you seen the interview when his wife was talking about how everyone in his team + his doctor was telling him he needs elbow surgery because it will not get better only worse but Novak was being hard headed because he thought he could over come it without surgery. He also got told if he has surgery he won't be able to play for 6-9 months and that for Novak was out of question. Until the pain got so bad at wimbedon he couldn't even serve properly. How often do you see a player serve 3 double faults twice in two service games? That's how bad it got that he didn't want to extend the elbow making him serve erratically. After seeing that it all made sense.
@@MineFullStop Man what could have been if he would have gotten the surgery right away. Potentially wasted the opportunity to end up with the most slams. Though he may still get there of course.

Stan when he is on is probably impossible to beat. It is too much power and accuracy at once. But happens less often than Novak beating Stan
