- I'm not going to lie. This was a tough one to get through. Loved the song, and the farewell message, but damn, if it didn't get to me. This was hard, but I'm happy to have gotten through it

The most touching moment was when your daughter rubbed your shoulder in support. You're raising a good kid there!
She really does love to comfort the people she loves. It's one of her defining traits. I'm so lucky to have a daughter that is so caring and wise beyond her years.
For real I saw that as well. Beautiful to see how close a father and his daughter could be.
That’s a rough one. Lost my grandmother to Alzheimer’s years ago and it’s the most heartbreaking thing you can ever see. Your daughters support for you was beautiful.
Yeah, I felt this one down to my core. I knew I'd get emotional when I heard it, and I knew I'd be a mess, but her comforting me calmed me. She's so wise when it comes to empathy and caring for the people she loves. I'm so lucky to be the father of someone like her.
I lost my own grandma to dementia/alzheimers,after first losing my grandpa to the aftermaths after a "minor stroke",he fought his longest fight in the hospital for months, until he had to throw in the towel just over new years,so every new years knowing what he went through, has never been the same. Both of them passed either close to,or just after Christmas. Way before all that i lost my only parent to cancer, and buried them on little christmas eve,so yeah..... me and the holidays dont go so hand in hand anymore.
If i had my own girlfriend or wife and kids,sure...i would put on a brave pokerface and do my outmost to give them the same days to look forward to as i had as a kid.
But i have not been that fortunate.
How much this video mentallly destroyed me,as i relived my younger cousins reaction to grandma suddenly one day didnt recognize them, pheeew, one of the toughest experiences of my life.
I dont wish upon anyone to go through this, because it affects every single one. No matter how great the communication between the family and friends are,you can never prepare for what is coming, its all so unpredictable, your mind cant process it properly. Even how much you try to keep a calm head and telling yourself why,it just destroys you.
Especially like in my case,on my cousins behalf as i have always been like the biggest brother in the family for them, always protecting them while outside playing etc.
I guess im a huge empath there. With all that said, this video still did me the world of good to watch,no matter how unpleasant the brutal scenes was. It was like great theraphy to watch it,and it has went on to be one of my favourite music videos ever made.
Im seriously late to this reaction done 2 years ago,but its charming to see a dad and daughter do this together, her comforting rubs on your shoulder,as she noticed you were down.
Absolutely heartwarming and wonderful! Brought a slight tear to my eye,as it awoked my childhood wish of having my own daughter, not for my own egoistic sake only, but for me remembering how my own mom would tell me how she lost my big sister too early to miscarriage. And the interesting part here is that my own favourite female name, and the name she was gonna name my big sister, was the exact same one,WITHOUT us knowing of eachothers thoughts.
So anyway,im glad YTs homepage recommended you 2 for me! It was a time well spent with you 2! You are one amazing duo!
Song fucking kills me every time I watch it... Really cool that you do this with your daughter. Might have to do something like this with my kids.
Yeah, every time I hear it, it's soul crushing. The video behind it makes it worse. Thanks for the kind words! From one father to another, doing this has made our relationship much stronger and I'd highly recommend taking a chance! :)
So wholesome to see a parent and child do this. She must be learning a lot about life, too. You rock :)
Thank you so much! Just trying to open her mind! :)
New to the channel. Glad I came across this. I am big fan of this band and have a young daughter that jams the same music I do (metal head here 🙂) as well as other music. This song is very touching. Lol ... We are only human and when lyrics and vocals take us back to a time and place of memory and love. We definitely get emotional and she'd tears of remembrance. I know I do. I lost my mom to cancer when I was 12. And years later I lost my dad and couldn't be there to tell him I love him.
Anywho.. not to be a downer ..keep rocking
Thanks for sharing that with us. We really feel for you. Thank you for coming aboard on our journey! Due to the death of my father we're on a small hiatus to get his affairs in order, but we'll be back! My dad loved our channel and we're going to continue on in memory of him. Stay tuned! :)

My condolences and so sorry for your loss. My heart goes to you and your family budd.
Much love to you both. Thank you for taking the time to hear(see) my story.
The song and video are about Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Courtney lost her grandmother early last year, and because of the border closure, was not able to go back to be at her funeral, and she had always promised hee grandmother she would sing at her funeral. As for the video, it was directed by their good friend Dylan, and his family is currently dealing with his grandmother going through the same thing. Constance is the name of Dylan’s grandmother, and the photo of the nurse is an actual photo of her.
Thanks for the information. I was aware of a good portion of this from searches. It's a couple of devastating situations these guys found themselves in. I feel bad for both families for their situations.
My friend thanks for sharing your video with us. Pretty cool Lexi was comforting you and she drop some knowledge to.
She's definitely a caring and comforting pillar in my life. She's wise beyond her years, and knows when to drop some truth bombs. I'm a very lucky father.
I avoided watching this video for a month as I am going through this with my mother right now.. watching her slip away a little bit at a time.. it has been a hard 3 years, but so important for us as well.
Yeah, I feel for anyone in this position. It's got to be rough to have a family member there, living and breathing, but not able to be a family member anymore. It cannot be easy whatsoever. You have my deepest sympathies.
@@mattlexireactions4313 thank you. She took care of all us kids for 18 years so I have no problems being here for her.
Dude you make me a proud dad brother!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate that :)
Absolutely!!
i feel like tiktok desensitizes many to... well, many subjects. good reaction you two.

We'll get back into it at some point. My dad's death has really hit us super hard. He was everything to my kid's lives and mine as well. He'd want us to continue (as he loved seeing us together bonding), but it still feels really bad being happy and jovial when someone we love is no longer with us.
This is our first really close death. Just hang in there, and we'll get back to it, I promise! :)
@@mattlexireactions4313 I have no words… that’s extremely heartbreaking. I just recently experienced back to back funerals, short story my grandfather passed, not even a month away my grandmother passes. In the end just hug your loved ones everyday, you’ll never know when it’s your last or their last day with you. ❤️🌷
@@Reieva absolutely! And I'm sorry for your losses as well. My dad died of Covid back in March 2021. It was a pretty brutal death too. That's why it's so hard. We're definitely trying to pick up the pieces and move on with life, but it's been a rough situation. Dealing with his estate has prolonged the suffering, and since that's not settled yet, it keeps the wound fresh. We definitely want to come back, but I want to be in a better place mentally before we start back up again. My daughter (and eventually my son) too. Hang in there. It's on the list, and thank you for the understanding! :)
@@mattlexireactions4313 You are an awesome person, god bless you and your family. We all relate to the pain of losing a loved one but together we share such pain to help others who cannot handle it, most crumble. We are strong! We keep moving forward.
If this didnt make you cry there's an acoustic version of this song
