Hi Chon... Will be visiting Bangkok Chinese New year time. Will try to visit the places you recommend...and the food too....we are from Singapore.... thank you for sharing.
Yes, you are right. When I first time made that journey in 2002 I was the only tourist and that trip was only for hardcore railway fans. A Thai couple in Baan Laem station even asked me how adventerous I am that I do that journey alone. Since then I did it six/seven times again, and especially around 2010 and onwards it became touristier and touristier, probably because of UA-cam and influencers.... This February (2024) it was horrible: The train became at the last three/four stations so crowded with tourists (a lot of Chinese tour groups) that it felt like BTS in Bangkok during rush hour. So, don't expose nice places on the net.
Awesome all of you take train - boat - train to maekhong station Cheap but take long times actually y'all can take songtaew from maekhong to amphwa market
Just came back from maeklong and I couldn’t have done it if it’s not for this video so I’m very grateful for this! Thank you very much! Could the team do one for the death train too! I would like to go there without a tour guide on my next trip to Bangkok 🙏🏻
Thank you Chon for vlogging about this. I will be returning to Thailand for the second time this 2024 and I missed putting this on my itinerary. It’s would be a great experience to take the train instead of waiting the train at the market.
Beautiful content. Thank you for your kindness. Teacher Thomas Thailand gives everyone in the video AAA +++ grade. Showing real Thailand with detailed information. New subscriber here TTT in Ban Chang Rayong 🇹🇭 . Peace ✌️ and love 😍 to you and yours.
Good video. Interesting to catch the train to the market and have enough time to see the train leave the market. So what is the best way to get back to BKK from here market?
You can either go back same way, or take a minivan from the bus station few hundred metres from the train station. There are services to different places in BKK as Mo Chit or Ekkamai.
@3:25 Maha Chai is the last stop of this line so it's gonna be hard to miss this. Also, you should mention that each leg of this trip takes about 1 hour each so it will be at least 2 and a half hours total. BTW, did you lose a crew half way? You started out with 5 then later just 4. 😄
Very very nice guides and explanations in your videos, would like to visit Bangkok, changh Mai and one other place when we ready to visit, could you please recommend reasonable hotels and travel guides with prices, we will be budgeted, tls
I’ve been here! Didn’t manage to take video of the train, many tourists but it was an interesting experience. 😊One of the food places the owner her son is an actor, I forgot which one it was but it was some kind of noodles. Also, Joyciiieeeeee^^^^^ I just subbed. I’m Chinese-Canadian (similar to Joyciiieeeeee Chinese-American), 27 years old. Where do you live in Thailand? And you have been to 70 countries wow that is nice. I’ve also been to Amphawa, again many tourists I did go on firefly tour and saw some fireflies but not many. It was peaceful in the evening.
Chon. I’m going also to take this route next week. But I want also to go to floating market. Is there a taxi o any kind of public transportation from maeklong station? Please notice me 🙏🏻 Thank you.
If you don't want to walk the endless skywalk from BTS Wong Wian Yai and then along that busy street you can go to Wutthakat BTS and then to SRT station with same name. It is much closer.
