Thanks you very much for the video!, with the help of this Great tutorial!!! i made my sequence of the moon eclipse of Jan 2019. thank you a lot Colin.
Hello! I just wanted to say that I watched this video and it helped me sooo much! I am sorry but a Thank You is not big enough to encompass my gratitude! I really appreciate your amazing video!
I went through a bunch of videos on how to do this. Your video just made so much more sense to me. Used the older version of the video. Thanks. I’m very pleased with the end result
My house sits about 3 blocks into the path of totality (Kansas City), so we got about 20 seconds. I didn't have the gear to get photos of the actual eclipse, but I had my Mavic up about 170 feet to catch the darkness coming across the landscape. It turned out pretty good, and the whole experience was great! Love the tutorial - I can think of lots of ways to use it.
Thanks for the video! We were West of you in Rigby Idaho. Crystal clear beautiful skies. Our son was South of Omaha and had heavy overcast that clear just as Totality started. Canon 7D Mark II with a Sigma 150-600mm (C) at 600mm and a 6D Mark II with a Canon 16-35mm f4 at 24mm. I used silver Mylar filters and will have to edit to get yellow/orange suns.
Have a question as I just photographed the eclipse on Saturday and not knowing what to do I find your video...great job but you show your photos as being jpg so do I need to process the photos first and then follow your guide? thanks
Awesome video. I had figured out some of these tricks myself but this will help my spacing so much. Working on my sequence from viewing the eclipse in Concordia,MO. I'm a subscriber now!
Thanks for this video. I am a Photoshop newbie and I have been driving myself crazy trying to get my eclipse photos aligned. Do you have any suggesting (or other videos) for cleaning up the image borders that are not 100% black. (you can see the lines of the different images in several of your photos and several of my own)
Great vid. We covered the eclipse in Hopkinsville KY and I can't wait to put together our own sequence using your tutorial. Will let you know how that works out.
OK - somehow trying it with just Control again and right clicking without Alt or A, it worked, Now the problems I am having is having made the back ground black, my actual images are in a lighter gray black color. SO how do I make the filled background and my actual image background all the same color?
Great tutorial but I cannot get by an initial problem. I only have used Lightroom sparingly so no matter what I do when selecting a number of files to drop into PS6, it selects all my eclipse photos, not the 10 or 15 that I want to import as layers into photoshop. I can select the specific ones by holding the control button but then when I right click, it again selects the 100+ photos in the file. If I hit Control - A, same result. Any suggestions as to what I am missing or doing wrong?
Thank you! Very well explained... It simplifies a rather difficult task in Photoshop for a novice user like myself... I do have one question: After everything is complete, do you flatten the image before saving the file?
Yeah, I think I used the lighten effect to get rid of the haze. Also, here was the final result from my images i.imgur.com/CHQVnz6.png Thanks for the tutorial :)
I made an updated version of this tutorial for the 2024 eclipse here: ua-cam.com/video/X8Rzk9rhUcI/v-deo.htmlsi=Um5KVRe7nAJWecNS
Thank you for the excellent presentation. Will be trying it out.
Thanks! I learned some good tips and shortcuts from this tutorial.

Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for the walk through. Ive got a 7 day trial, so ill def be using your video this weekend
What were the dimensions of the JPEG files? Probably pretty darn small, right?

Okay, I get the concept, but..... It's 2024 and both Lightroom and Photoshop have changed. How do I do this in the current version of each??
Want to know this as well lol
Making a new tutorial NOW, it will be up today!
@@photoshopcafe sweet thank you. Preparing to try and take different shots of the solar eclipse and put into one photo
New vid is here ua-cam.com/video/X8Rzk9rhUcI/v-deo.htmlsi=Um5KVRe7nAJWecNS

thank you so much! this was so what i needed to pull all my images together. Very well demonstrated and easy to follow.

You can work with raw if you like

yeah, do the levels thing like I did on my video for the totality shot

Can't wait to see your result!
Do I need Lr to do this or can I go straight to Photoshop elements? Thank you.
You do not need Lightroom, I actually say that at the beginning of the video
Awesome! You did a wonderful job with this AND on all the shots you took! Thank you!
thanks
Thank You so Much
Great video Colin!!
amazing
what focal length did you use for this?
400mm
Really excellent tutorial! Thank you so much
thanks
This is Awesome!!! I'm heading to NM for annualar coming up in 6 weeks. This will be a target photo.

Thank you. This video helped to merge last nights Lunar eclipse photos..
Great tutorial!!!
Thanks for this tutorial, very helpful!
Thank you! Very well explained... It simplifies a rather difficult task in Photoshop for a novice user like myself... I do have one question: After everything is complete, do you flatten the image before saving the file?
I never flatten my originals. Ill make a flattened copy as a jpg or a tif
This was great and easy to follow!
Thank you
You're welcpme
That was an amazing effort but y would u leave that orange flare around all images. That doesn’t look clean
I guess you never are gonna get an answer to your question...
Awesome tutorial😍😍.
I have seen few phots with an s shape eclipse sequence.can u tell me abt it?
Just reposition the images
best tutorial ever !!!!!
you didn't explain how to remove the haze around the images to get a crisp sun
Thats pretty much how I shot them. Photoshop Curves or exposure and clarity in Lightroom will fix it easily.
Gotcha. I actually just figured out a way to remove it, but thanks for the tip
Also the method I use 1/2 way through to get rid of the ghosting on the totality picture is the same way to get rid of edge haze
Yeah, I think I used the lighten effect to get rid of the haze. Also, here was the final result from my images i.imgur.com/CHQVnz6.png Thanks for the tutorial :)
Looking good. If I may suggest brightening up the orange a little bit?
