Hiya, Thats exactly what I was thinking. Now that so much has bee removed maybe PS will now have a clear view of the remaining problem. Im sure it should be able to find that large cable at least. Over to you Colin, would a second or third pass get rid of the rest of the cables?
@@photoshopcafe Thanks Colin, I noticed you did that as a short, since my comment. I never watch shorts, but I guess it worked. I have now taken a camera shot from your original video and I`m going to try it myself. Cheers Colin.
Thats what I was going to ask, because one of those cables is so big, with a lot of the clutter gone, perhaps another go at it will make it identify those remaining wires and the big one.
@@spookysandwich1355 I never thought of that. I`ll give that a go. Perhaps in the future Colin could share the phots that he uses so we can then try and obtain his results.
Well, it does a good job and i tried the last one, to get rid of all. With 2 times wiring function and three times generative fill, i managed to get a clean image. So very impressive
Very impressive demonstration, Colin! When I think of all the time I've spent manually cloning wires out... it's one of those things with editing a photo, once you start, you want to keep at it until they're all gone.
I like that feature, but with a lot of my photos, they are for Real Estate, and taking them out would be bad and not representing the property. But look forward to use it on other pics when needed. Thanks.
I tried it on a photo with a few wires, small, and with dark background, and it did a great job. I had been using the patch tool to remove, and this works much better (and takes much less time).
Awesome. A companion video with a quick refresher on how to mask back in the bits and pieces this, or other tools, don't handle perfectly, would be welcome!
@@mavfan1 Sure, but he should put links to some of his own in the description. UA-cam may be the second largest search engine in the world, but that doesn't mean it always get you exactly what you are looking for... (and using the UA-cam search on a specific channel is pretty hit or miss a lot of the time)
I had fun testing this feature myself. It reminded me of when Luminar released their powerline removal tool that barely worked a few years back. Adobe's version works great - though now they need a power pole removal tool.
On the last one I feel like you could’ve duplicated the two layers after, merged them, and then rerun it to see if it’ll continue to clean them up. Interesting to think about, what do you think?
It is not perfect but it saves a ton of time tracing every wire. I tried the "people" distraction tool and it has some flaws too, but just like the AI Generative tool, it is pretty amazing.
All AI tools are only in beta versions of all adobe products. Keep the original version to relay on because all beta versions are unstable so you don’t wanna lose a project
The only thing I use Luminar Neo for is removing wires, so once this feature gets into the current release I can get rid of that. Well done, Photoshop!
It may not get very complex arrangements first time but it takes so much of the hassle out of removing wires. Typical of the "so called" AI (more machine learning really), it is often not perfect without some small amount of help from humans (which, I've no doubt it will learn from!), but the toil it saves is well worth it. Brilliant demo Colin, with a good range of photos. I enjoyed the game!!
Wow. AI is really good. I wonder if this feature would work on images that have chain linked fences in them. Technically not wires, but perhaps PS would be able to remove the chained link fences as well. Any chance you have some stock images to test this on?
Run the same group of photos through Luminar. Some it will do just as well. But for others the Luminar version will yield awful results. This is SO much more advanced! Thanks for doing this.
I have Photoshop version 25.12.0 and I do not have the options of "find distractions" and "auto" when choosing the remove tool. Is it an update to this version? Thanks
I shoot in an urban environment almost exclusively and editing out lines is a pain in time and money. This new tool saves me so much time it pays for my monthly subscription on every job!
Can you please try this on Fly-away hairs? It seems like that would be an equally useful application of this sort of process. A one click removal of all crazy hair would be the best ever AI gift!
Why don't I have this feature in my photoshop.I get the remove tool, and there are no "find distraction" options. Just the brush option. I am using V25.13

Definitely a more useful feature for landscape and amateur travel photography than (honest) real estate photography.

I’ve spent way too much of my life erasing utility lines from photos. Even the easy test shows a big step forward. Thanks.
yes, time saver
Can it remove fences? Can you take the first removal page and do a 2nd pass to see if it removes more wires?
That is great - what if you ran it through a second time to get the remainder? Would that work?

On that last one I’d do a stamp-up of the layers to a new layer & run the tool again to get rid of the thick wires.
I don’t have beta but I live on the big island of Hawaii where every vista has wires. I’m looking forward to the remove update.
Curious Colin: does that tool use up credits ?

Hey nice job, but why did you put a new layer for the removal tool?
No destructive workflow, it can be reverted easily
