Hello makers in this post I’ll tell you how I made a fully automatic arduino based bobbin winding machine.
Bobbins are the small metal spools used in sewing machine, bobbins are filled with thread to stich cloths.
This bobbins are frequently getting empty and you need to rewind it with thread again and again.
So I made this machine it can automatically wind thread to maximum 12 bobbins in single run. there are already many bobbin winding machines are available in market.
But there prices are more than 500$ but this DIY arduino based bobbin winding machine can build under 100$ & upto some level serves the purpose as well.
There is huge room for improvement here
    Any Idea, Suggestions are welcome.

this is an epic build! I spent many years fixing the automated bobbin winders at our embroidery business, we needed to wind 500 bobbins at a time.. this is very clever!

    Great impressive project.
A small suggestion, in the nichrome wire section, you could have used ceramic beads to slightly isolate the acrylic from the nichrome wire, thus preventing the gradual slowly melting plastic.

Oh, I love this!! My grandmother taught me to sew when I was younger and I always loved loading the bobbins on the top of the machine to help. She really would have enjoyed this machine! 👍

Yes, I have a sewing machine - and the Bobbin winder is *annoying* to use.
This seems a trifle overkill for my current needs, but this level of automation is intriguing….

Amazing project! Lots of skill to make this happen! I made something similar for a different application and it has litteraly paid itself 5x the past year. You learn programming, mechanics, electronics, pcb design, wire routing, heat transfer, physics, you name it!

I am hoping the next video will show an interesting machine that uses loaded bobbins.
Braiding and embroidery machines both need many spools of thread. Those two came to mind, but there are probably many more.

      Try it yourself.
Once, I tried to sew on an old sewing maschine. And you know what?
No woman in our family sews as well as I can.
I bought Janome's new sewing machine. And that's cool.

do you think you can make a machine to crimp dupont connector on the wire ? because this is tidious to do by hand when you have hundreds to made for a project, it is also not consistent and a lot of faillure occur by hand.
I think you can use the hand cripping tool and automatism it.

The way the bobbin is clamped and rotated with a set of drill chucks is a blast.
With this in mind, we are trying to rotate the lead screw after fixing it.
Do you have any recommendations for how the DC motor can grip and fix the lead screw?
