I enjoyed hearing about the differences between traditional scholarship and the academy in universities. Also I have been looking for Dr. Brown's books in ebook form but can't find them.
What is the purpose of salat? When I say son, drive slowly So this phrase has an action and a purpose The action is driving And the goal is to get home safely Similarly when Allah says إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي20:14 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. In this verse the action is prayer And the goal is to get a reminder… Question ...? Reminder of what...? That whenever I do something, answer someone's taunts, feel hatred towards someone, start spending my money, whatever the situation may be, happy or sad, etc. At this time, let me remember what is the command of Allah Almighty about this..? . For example, Sikhs wear an iron bracelet on their hands so that when they start doing something wrong, they remember that Guru Nanak forbade them to do so. In the same way, when we pray in such a way that we know what Allah is saying, then when we start doing any work, we will remember what Allah has ordered about it. The bitter truth is that We don't know what we are reciting, that's why we are far away from the action. When our preachers tell a Muslim that all previous sins are forgiven by praying, then why should not that Muslim commit adultery, corruption, cheating, tell lies, backbite etc. The noticeable thing is that Allah Almighty has not said anywhere in the Qur'an that sins are forgiven by praying rather Allah Almighty says. فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ 99:7 whoever has done the smallest particle of good will see it; وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ 99:8 while whoever has done the smallest particle of evil will see it Allah Almighty says: Paradise is for those who act upon god’s commands أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ 3:136 Their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works. Yes, there is forgiveness for those who stop sinning. Except those who repented and reformed and kept their faith in God and kept their religion to God, then they are with the believers. وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 29:7 as for those who have faith and do good works, We shall certainly cleanse them of their evil deeds and reward them according to the best of their actions. So it is not enough just to pray unless it is followed… This does not mean to stop praying, but to remind yourself that if I take university classes regularly. I also have to follow the lecture given there don't be like that student who just goes for attendance. He is fooling himself and not the parents because he knows it very well. He will never be successful just by taking classes. Allah Almighty says: Do not assume - Do not backbite - Do not lie - Help the poor - If a person recites these verses millions of times in prayer or without prayer and does not act on them, then will Allah forgive such a person? Will be happy or angry? يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ 61:2 O you who believe, why do you say and do not do? كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ 61:3 It is most hateful to God that you do not practise what you preach; Desire says first improve your lifestyle and your children while prayer says improve the lifestyle of others...? When we put our own desires first, we skip prayer, that is why Allah says: فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا 19:59 But then they were succeeded by generations who neglected their prayers and were driven by their own desires. They will assuredly meet with destruction That is why Pakistani Poet Allama Iqbal says ترا امام بے حضور ، تیری نماز بے سرور ایسی نماز سے گزر ، ایسے امام سے گزر Your Imam is absent, your prayer is without obedience. Go through such a prayer, go through such an Imam میں جو سربہ سجدہ ہوا کبھی تو زمیں سے آنے لگی صدا تیرا دل تو ہے صنم آشنا تجھے کیا ملے گا نماز میں As soon as I prostrated, a sound started coming from the ground Your heart is full of love for the world. What will you find in prayer? Turkish Saint Yunus Emre says: A person who claims to be a Muslim should follow the principles of Islam Prayer should be performed in obedience to God's order [That is, prayer is performed by doing, not just by reciting] Indian Saint says Self-criticism and self-correction is better than seventy years of prayer. (Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya) (Means, you spend your whole life praying and you don't know that the purpose of it was to keep an eye on myself and to see whether I was obeying Allah's orders or obeying my own desires in every matter of life)
HELLO DEAR PEOPLE!!!!!🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍈🍈🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓 Some individuals using incorrect translation of Arabic words into English made many mistakes. However, they may not know that Quran’s translations are just translations, and may be incorrect translation of some words. So, it would be better to look for Arabic original. Unfortunately tranlations such as sahih international have huge mistakes in translation. I recommend to read Quran word by word in the translation of various authors such as Mustafa Khattab or other different translators. 1) In surah 6 verse 38: “There is no animal that crawls on the earth, no bird that flies with its two wings, but are species (umma) like you.” Some translators translated Arabic word umma as community. However, it is NOT said here that all animals live together. Umma (community) of believers may not live together, but still called as umma. For example, in the Quran God says that Prophet Ibrahim is the umma, meaning that even one person could be an umma. So, the word umma does not mean something only in plural form, but may mean also singular form. Secondly, umma of animals and birds means not only animal living alone or together, but means that each animal or bird is unique umma (unique species) 2) In surah 18 verse 84-86: “84) We granted him (Cyrus the Great - Zul-Qarnine) power in the land and endowed him with all kinds of resources. 85) He set out (westwards) on an expedition. 86) Until when he reached the place where the sun sets (the place where land ends and Sun sets in the dark Black sea), he saw it setting in dark (black) waters (dark waters of Black sea); and nearby he met a people.” This story is about Persian king Cyrus the Great, who conquered Lydian kingdom(ancient kingdom in today’s land of Anatolia, Turkey) in the west lands, until he reached today’s Black (Dark) sea, where he watched sunset. Then Cyrus the Great went to eastwards, until he reached another water land (Caspian Sea or Indian Ocean) where he watched sunrise. So, by conquering West and East, Cyrus the Great (Zulqarnine) as a king, has helped people who asked for help against massagete tribe. Those were gog and magog (yagug magug or getts and massagetes) who were aggressively attacking neighbor lands of innocent people. Secondly, what is interesting is that massagetes were living in the island of Caspian Sea called Carnine. It is written in the book of one ancient Greek historian. So, the word Zul-Carnine then may mean “owner of Caspian sea island Carnine”. According to Herodotus massagetes lived near the river Araks, which is located in today’s Armenia. I think that Cyrus the Great had closed massagetes at one of the Caucasian mountains or maybe that Caspian Sea island “Carnine”. Then, surah is called “Kahf” while Caucasus mountains also called by some people as a “Kaf” mountains. Masssagetes lived in today’s Caucasus mountains in the regions of Azerbaijan and in an island called “Carnine” 3) For example, some translators translated Arabic word “futuur” as a “crack” in the sky, which is not correct. In reality, more convenient meaning of the word “futuur” is “flaw” In surah 67 verse 3: “(Allah) Who created the seven heavens one upon another. You will see no incongruity (in arabic "furuj") in the Merciful One's creation. Turn your vision again, can you see any flaw (futuur in Arabic means flaw, minus and etc)? Then turn your vision again, and then again; in the end your vision will come back to you, worn out and frustrated” 4) Some people did understand also 5 verse of this surah. They think that samaa at-Dunya means the lowest sky, but in reality samaa at-Dunya means “the sky of this World”. While musabbih means not stars, but lighters, lamps. There is the Arabic word for star which is “Najm”. In surah 67, verse 5 “We have adorned the (samaa at-dunya) World’s sky with lamps (musabbih means lighter, lamp), and have made it (the sky of this world) as a blockage for the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire” 5) In surah 86 verse 5-8: “5) So let man consider of what he was created. 6) (He) Was created of a gushing fluid. 7) (He) Comes out (as a baby) from between the backbone (mothers backbone - sulb) and the ribs (mother ribs - taraib). 8) Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life)” 1) In surah Tariq (86 surah) verses 5-8, Allah is mentioning humans life from being sperm to becoming embryo, zygote and then after 9 months human comes out from mothers tomb (which is located between backbones and ribs of mother) into this life and then after this life every human will be Resurrected in that life Hereafter. 2) There is a second way of translation. The word sulb means not only backbone, but also means in Arabic “hard, stiff” while word taraib means in Arabic “earth, dirt, soil”. So, in this way 2nd way of translation of these verses would be: “5) So let man consider of what he was created. 6) (He) Was created of a gushing fluid. 7) (He) Comes out from among the hard (sulb-hard) and the soil (taraib-earth, soil) (Here maybe about the day of Resurrection when people will be resurrected by coming forth from hard soil of their grave) 8) Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life)” 6) Not about “flat earth”, but “wide land” Some islamaphobes claim that in the Quran there are verses about flat earth. However, it is not true. In surah 13,verse 3: He is the One who spread (madda) out the earth (land) and made mountains and rivers on it, and created on it all (or whole) fruit from pairs of two. He makes the night cover the day. Surely, in that there are signs for a people who think The Arabic word “madda” means making wide or spread. Spreading of earth is about spreading land. Another meaning of this word madda is making wide, which may mean that initially Earth planet had very big ocean with no continent about 4.5 billions years ago. After some millions of years water level has fallen and the first big continent called Pangea has been formed. So, madda may mean that Creator made continent by widening dry land. 7)In surah 52, verse 44: Even if they see a piece (in Arabic “kisfatan”) falling down from the sky, they would say, “It is a cumulated cloud” Word kisfatan means piece, portion. Some nations in the past were punished by pieces send from the sky 8) Arabic word “Anam” does not mean deers, horses or donkeys. Arabic word “Anam” means “only” 4 types of cattle: cow, sheep, goat and camel In surah 39, verse 6: He is Who created you from a single being, and He is Who made from him its mate. He is Who created for you eight heads of cattle (in Arabic “anam”) in pairs…With male and female those 4 types will be 8 in number 9) Heart open and heart tight metaphorically, not literally In surah 6, verse 125: So, whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He makes his heart wide open for Islam, and whomsoever He wills to let go astray, He makes his heart strait (tight) and constricted, (and he feels embracing Islam as difficult) as if he were climbing to the sky. In this way, Allah lays abomination on those who do not believe Here “heart wide open for islam or expanding of heart for islam” is not in literal form, but it is metaphorically. Also, “heart tight and constricted” is not literal, but metaphorically. It is not about physical volume of heart in liters, but it is more metaphorically. Quran has many metaphors and troops such as epithets. You can search for “troops in the Quran” if you want. Heart being constricted or tight does not mean that hearts volume will decrease by 2 liters in high mountains, rather it means that some non-believers have closed their heart and they feel embracing islam as difficult as going up to high attitude 10) What about Haman? In ancient Egypt the word Ha-amen did mean "servant of pagan god Amen". By the word Ha-amen ancient Egyptian polytheist pharaos such as Merneptah(or Ramses 2) called "Head of priest" who was also responsible for building work. So, word Ha-amen was the name by which Main building minister and main priest was called. Ok. According to the Quran Ha-aman is the "Building minister and Minister of priests". So, Quran and history of Ancient Egypt fits correctly. If you want more information you can search "Ancient Egypt in the Quran. Many Prophets one message channel" I watched in that channel many interesting videos I think that some people may have questions. I tried to respond to some of them. It would be better if there will be more apologete videoblogers of islam, who would answer to many questions by videoblog!

What is the purpose of salat?
When I say son, drive slowly
So this phrase has an action and a purpose
The action is driving

Similarly when Allah says
إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي20:14
I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance.
In this verse the action is prayer
And the goal is to get a reminder…
Question ...?
Reminder of what...?
That whenever I do something, answer someone's taunts, feel hatred towards someone, start spending my money, whatever the situation may be, happy or sad, etc.
At this time, let me remember what is the command of Allah Almighty about this..? .
For example, Sikhs wear an iron bracelet on their hands so that when they start doing something wrong, they remember that Guru Nanak forbade them to do so.

The noticeable thing is that Allah Almighty has not said anywhere in the Qur'an that sins are forgiven by praying rather Allah Almighty says.
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ 99:7
whoever has done the smallest particle of good will see it;
وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ 99:8
while whoever has done the smallest particle of evil will see it
Allah Almighty says: Paradise is for those who act upon god’s commands
أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ 3:136
Their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works.
Yes, there is forgiveness for those who stop sinning. Except those who repented and reformed and kept their faith in God and kept their religion to God, then they are with the believers.
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 29:7

O you who believe, why do you say and do not do?
كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ اللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُوا مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ 61:3
It is most hateful to God that you do not practise what you preach;
