Being from Hyderabad myself and being literally surrounded by many relatives of the Nawab's family .. this beautiful trip down the history lane.. gives nostalgia of the stories I used to hear from my grandmother about the Nawab's family and their lives. JazakAllah khair Sheikh, may Allah SWT reward you.
We grew up only blocks away from Khilwat Palace now known as Chowmahalla Palace, Nizams headquarter. Grew up seeing the Palace minaret or clock tower from our house court yard, as a child wondered what that beautiful clock tower was part of? I only came to know about it many years later after moving to America that the clock tower was part of a palace, of one of the richest dynasty in the world. When asked my mother, why no one ever told us growing up? My mother replied Allah SWT judges you for your good deeds not wealth or fame. That humbled me. May Allah SWT rest Nizams soul and bless him and his family for giving us our very First English translation of the holy Quran.

Our learned and well to do grandmother on her deathbed at the age of 93 recited a Persian poem for us: “Don’t tie your heart to this world, this transitory world will pass away * The throne and fortunes will remain behind, and kingship will pass away.” May Allah SWT forgive and bless her.

JazakAllahu Khyran, Sheikh. This reminds of the poetry of Abu al-Baqa al-Randi from Andalus. So profoundly appropriate. I paste key couplets from the longer version:
Iam from Hyderabad. His Grandfather Mir Osman ali Khan who was the richest person in the world at that time did so much for his people by developing the state and people of Hyderabad especially Muslims are still benefitting from that. But on the contrary his grandson who lived mostly abroad ran few trusts for the poor people but there is no comparison between his grandfather and him. Also as their statemanship was abolished by Indian Govt more than 50 years ago so we do not expect from them anything now. But we all love and respect them for all that they did for us.
Please don't talk blatantly. There are many writings describing the atrocities. Please refer to the word "razakar" if you not already. The movements to liberate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh are loosely connected to the rebellious movements done by people of Telangana who cannot tolerate the atrocities done by razakars. During those golden years of nawab, people of Telangana were starved to death while there nawab made a fortune. This is bitter truth.

Am glad people who hear this video clip will definitely appreciate the huge contributions for the Umma by Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur. Petty minds speak petty things , some IAS former officer write a derogatory book about the 7th Nizam. Such petty minds thrive upon controversies unfortunately. Nizam of Hyd was a visonery who had set up a department of translation( Darut ul Marif) to translate into Urdu any book published in the world if this could benifit the community to acquire knowledge. 🎉proud to be a Hyderabadi, will always be proud to be called one. Snatches of History . Glad someone spoke highly about the 7th Nizam. Nizam means Governor , Nawab means a wealthy person. Nizam's were rulers, kings of the Deccan Ghiasuddin Akbar
Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur (Nizam sarkar) grandson Mir Mukkaram Jah Bahadur (8th Nizam of Hyderabad) still runs many trusts which benefits the poor muslims in Hyderabad. Because of their contributions Hyderabad is still strong in India and safe for Muslims. InShaAllah will remain the same.
Nawab and Nizam although used interchangeably, the fact is they were Nizams of Hyderabad, very rarely is the term Nawabs of Hyderabad used to refer to the royal family of Hyderabad. Technically the word Nizam is an equivalent to a king, while the tern Nawab is equivalent to a governor. For clarity, The Nizam of Hyderabad had several Nawabs under him.

Irrespective of religion the rulers of the subcontinent, kept the riches to themselves, the riches they got from the natural resources of that region; and kept their subjects in general poverty. Appreciate the contrast in the Middle East, where the rulers were benevolent enough to let the benefits of petrodollars reach each and every citizen.
Unfortunately it is sad to say that the Nizams of Hyderabad helped the British Colonizers defeat and murder the brave Muslim leader Sultan Fateh Ali Sahab Tipu (Tiger of Mysore) in 1799. May his soul rest in peace. So the family is not as clean as many people think.
Do u think tipu is so innocent? He lived by sword and died by sword. Atleast the nizams protected their kingdom from falling into kuffar hands...!! You can see the difference b/w Muslims of Hyderabad and Muslims of Mysore today.
I would like to add few more thing, I heard from many people, Nizam Osman Ali Pasha was a person who had given money to Hijaz the new Saudi at the earlier stage of 19th century...and also given Money to America at the time of War, when they were not having fund for war
Worldly powers and glories have no permanancy. Pompous lifestyle is nothing but personal narcissism. It is the higher ideals, the revolutionary outlook, the burning desires to achieve public welfare, to encourage an evolution in public morality and bring nations closer to each other through justice and peace, which gives someone a life beyond ages, rekindle his/her memories in hearts which may have no personal knowledge about the personality.
Calling the Nizam “nawab” is like calling the President “mayor.” Lots of inaccuracies in the talk though the moral of the talk is appreciated. But Hyderabadis everywhere will cringe listening to the the incorrect names, facts and repeated mention of “nawab.”
Including how temples are destroyed, forced conversion to islam, by committing atrocities (rapes, killings, lootings, etc). Open talk about real and true history of India
13:14 this is a crucial aspect when studying the Raj. I am from Hyderabad, with due respect the 7th nawab became the richest not because of the diamonds or some industrial revolution, he became rich because he and his nobles taxed the life out of ordinary citizens and rural pesantry and he personally owned like 1/3rd of all land in the kingdom which were called Sarf-e-khas lands, the nizam was wealthy, but the population was dirt poor. Thats why the people rebelled during Telangana armed struggle. While he did do some good by opening new universities, hospitals etc however they were mostly for Hyderabad based elites and nobles. So glorifying him is like glorifying the Russian czars, which is absolute BS.
If people were "Dirt poor" how did, they pay taxes? Do you think a poor man can pay taxes? So, either they were really rich and pay taxes and due that 7th nizam became rich or they were really poor and did not pay any taxes. Either way you are lying. He was rich because he was a good businessman.

The Nawab's decision to remain independent was his political suicide. He was afraid of losing his wealth and power. If one region was given autonomy, then East Pakistan would also achieve autonomy. Thus the disintegration of Pakistan would be avoided. Thus the nawab would not lose Hyderabad and Pakistan would be a strong Muslim country. Thus ultimately he had to give away his power and huge wealth to India.
Not totally true. Pakistan backstabbed Nizam. It is a problem throughout Muslim history, they never supported each other and still you see Muslim countries are fighting with each other. Pakistan said they will send troops if India attacked Nizam but they never sent. Nizam used to take care Makka and Madina expenses, but Saudi and other Muslim countries did not help him, even though he snt the requests. India was weak at that time, if Muslim countries helped Nizam today, we would have another Muslim country. Same thing happened at the time of Tipu Sultan. Ottams empire did not help him, because they thought he is too powerful and become ruler of Muslim world. It is said but true that Muslims hate each other.
Nizam wasn't 'semi-independent', his sovereignty was recognized by the British. Hyderabad and the British monarch had a feudal arrangement, not colonial (like rest of India). And no, he wasn't the only one with an army, most princely states had army, and a lot of them like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jammu Kashmir had way more professional and better armed armies.
With all due respect brother I realize you are here giving an overview of history but it hurts me when I hear you use the phrase royal blood we don't have this concept nor do we have kings and thrones we have the concept of brotherhood. Allah says he will never allow disbelievers control of a believers. His diamond paperweight couldn't help him. This was very interesting and to be taken as a sign if you want to be a real ruler you yourself should follow the sunnah.

You forget to tell that Hyderabad reached its glory in times of Qutub Shahi Dynasty which was destroyed by Aurangzeb and this infighting among Muslims gave opening for Lord Clive and east India company to capture India.

300 GBP would be 17,155.16 GBP or 20 thousand dollars.
Baigan me miladere ab nizam ki tareeq ko yaha
With all due respect brother I realize you are here giving an overview of history but it hurts me when I hear you use the phrase royal blood we don't have this concept nor do we have kings and thrones we have the concept of brotherhood.
Allah says he will never allow disbelievers control of a believers.
His diamond paperweight couldn't help him. This was very interesting and to be taken as a sign if you want to be a real ruler you yourself should follow the sunnah.
He is also from Hyderabad
You forgot to mention that the Nizam donated 5 Ton Gold when the Chinese invaded in 1962 war.
In 1962? And India independent in 1947, how was it possible? Only for my knowledge, thanks
It's fake news.
Please give a talk on Tipu Sultan..

So now we know, it is Rahul Qadhi, calling himself a Gandhi in India.
Nizam*
You forget to tell that Hyderabad reached its glory in times of Qutub Shahi Dynasty which was destroyed by Aurangzeb and this infighting among Muslims gave opening for Lord Clive and east India company to capture India.
I CAME TO KNOW THAT NIZAM FINACED PAKISTAN THE VERY FIRSH BUGET AS GRACE.
True
He was a generous visinory. Not like today's so called amassed billioners.
What was the point of this lecture?
History is important to know and remember for tomorrow would not be the same.
