My Club for last 26 years. Been travelling from UK regularly during that time. Great Club, even though success and honours always elude them, and a great City. Whilst the 'New' Stadium looks impressive i much prefer the old Millerntor, ramdhackle, crumbling, proper football arena. Standing on the Nordkurve with all the headbangers was a real experience. Still, you cant stop progress and if they ever do get back to the Bundesliga(the only time ive experienced the Brown and Whites in such lofty company was a good many years ago, more used to Regionalliga and Zweite liga) at least the Stadium will look the biz.

Just to give you an anecdote on your point from Germany: A few years back, the German national team had a home game in Hamburg (which they played at the Volksparkstadium of Hamburg's other big club HSV) and they had their final practice with the media in attendance at Millerntor stadium. Somebody at the German football federation ordered the "No football for fascists" slogan prominently displayed on one of the stands to be covered so it wouldn't appear in the media covergae and the majority of the German public was like: "who the f*ck would disagree with a statement like that?"
Former player, manager and director of St Pauli, Thomas Meggle, is now a BoD member at Dunfermline Athletic. He fronts a company involving 3 others that made a majority share holder bid for DAFC in 2021.
A bunch of us saw matches there in 1991 and 1992 on the way back from Chelsea pre-season tours in Scandinavia. There was only seats on one side and terraces all round back then. Everybody was in black...everybody. We were made welcome and a fella called Dirk showed us around. First year, visited the Supporters Club and went up to see the Rote Flora and the protests / confrontations with the police. Other time, were invited to a birthday party held on a huge floating pontoon in the nearby docks. Every time a massive ship went past, a minute later we'd be clinging onto to all the beer and grub as the bow wave hit. lol. We later all piled up to the street off the Reeperbahn when reports than HSV fans were having a pop at a St. Pauli bar. Backed them off out of it with the help of a few off duty British squaddies. Love the football culture in Germany, something we've lost quite a lot of in England. Happy memories.
Travelled to Hamburg about 10 years ago to watch Celtic v HSV in the Europa League. Great city. If you were looking for a good panoramic view of the city there's a church next to the Rathaus in the city centre called St James. We climbed up the spire past the bell tower and what a view. 🍀☠️
From my point of view here in Germany, FC St. Pauli sadly has become some sort of lifestyle brand within the last 10 or 20 years (at least outside of Hamburg) instead of a proper football club because of marketing reasons, documentaries on TV, UA-cam etc. Today, people from the upper middle class stick a skull & bones badge on the back of their SUV so that they can feel rebellious once again in their lifetime without really following the football team.

Playing Dunfermline in June apparently.
Haha yeah just saw the news this morning
@Footy Adventures trend setting again Sam 🤣
HSV FOR EVER AND EVER!
Always got to be one

Fersehenturm has been closed for at least 20 years,I did go to the top @1997-98,some great views were my reward.Liebe Hamburg.
Good view of the city from the Elbphilarmonie.
Red Star is a soon-to-be Ligue 2 club which has similar values and history if you wanna visit
Weird how the historic English churchman WILLIAM TYNDALL once got himself shipwrecked off of the shores of Hamburg at TINDAL.
There used to be a nightclub in that flak tower, dunno if it's still there.
St. Pauli's doing good this season!
00:58 some of these doors are actually doors to clubs in the bunker
St Pauli are playing Norwich at Carrah Rud on Aug 8th. As a huge Celtic fan I'll be there with the old skull and cross bones shirt on
Celtic 🤝 St. Pauli
🇮🇪
Great post, always wanted to go there, Forza Sankt Pauli 🔵⚪🟤🔴
St.Pauli is more politics than football. That sucks. Real football can be found elsewhere in Hamburg.
Nice one again sam, but surprised you didn't mention the ex club president Conny who was and is fighting for LGBT+ issues. I think what you said about Pauli being peoples 2nd team is pretty much true. I know fans from BvB, Schalke, Bremen Bielefeld, Frankfiurt, Kaiserslautern and they all say Pauli is their Nr. 2. Not for me but I do check their results. Who would be peoples 2nd team in England or Scotland.. I imagine for many that either Celtic or Rangers would be, but I dunno. Mine is Wimbledon ☺ in Scotland it's Greenock Morton✊As u can see, the smaller clubs
We are not a kult. We are just different St.Pauli die einzige Möglichkeit
The good thing aboot Aberdeen is we're apolitical as a club. For us politics should be left ootside the stadium. We're proud to be Scottish, and that's it.
STAND FREE 🟥⬜️🟥
As a Gers fan I agree wholeheartedly with you. As long as you keep the sheepshagging outside the ground also 😀
@@bluegeo649 Sheep jokes, utter pish min.
I love Aberdeen but why be apolitical when you can be anti fascist?
@@bluegeo649 Shh numpty .
As it should be. Its football. If you want politics go to a rally. St Pauli are the ultimate plastic hipster club.
A German team portraying themselves anti-nazi, then having their team walk out on the pitch wearing “brown shirts” is sooo funny.
No wonder the guide could not give a better answer than all the others were taken, and they just wanted to be different.
They also sing some disgusting songs about the Brits bombing Dresden!
@@richardmurray2068 Do they? Can you tell me which song? I'm there since 1989 on each match day. Must have missed it.
They look like a German equivalent of Dulwich Hamlet
Good comparison. They seem very similar 👍
@@FootyAdventures I'll be going to Dulwich on good Friday to watch my team Cheshunt so I'll find out for myself, great video again Sam 👍
Or Clapton CFC, a club who based their away shirt design on the flag of the Spanish Republic.
Hi I'm going to Hamburg next week , what's the easiest stadium to get to using public transport St Pauli or Hamburg SV?
Top class video, yet again, Sam. Chapeau! Goan yersel' St. Pauli !! Celtic & St. Pauli forever friends in the fight against fascism/racism/homophobia/right-wing neo's... Hail Hail!! Glasgow Celtic 1888 & St. Pauli 1910 !!
you wokes probably just hate everyone who has a different opinion than you
@@mirzahasanbegovic It's the same on the other side of the spectrum, no?
Settle down you absolute beta male
@@soundscape26 they mostly respectfully disagree
Yes,finally. What a fantastic season, up to the wire too!I think all STP fans will agree that they will be one season wonders but they will have no end of fun coming back down again😂😂😂
Are you goin to the game st.pauli vs. Hansa Rostock?
I live in Hamburg and if St. Pauli was not an extreme left-wing club, I would even support them.
For a good view of the city, try the St Michel Church
When Fashion scores against " that other mob"..
..
After a google, St Paul claim many of Hamburgs 'red light district workers' are St Pauli fans. What a joke of a club LOL
What an idiotic comment.
More about a WWII bunker building than St Pauli.
What a club love from Ireland 🇮🇪 ☠️
youre defo a Bohs fan
@@GuineaPig91 yup bohs 🔴⚫
Westfalen Stadion well worth a visit young fella(hate to say it).
Parkway Drive the Australian rock band sponsor them.
Hamburg❤⚓️🏴☠️⚓️ is a absolutely great city . Greetings from 🇬🇧❤️ UK.
oooooh yes, it iiiiiis 🤩
@@bechri9573 Your corner sucks tho.
Remember the names Connor Metcalfe and Jackson Irvine 🇦🇺
Metcalfe had started really well. Jackson is made for St Pauli ❤️☠️
@@RodParadise69 aye that’s actually sick Connor used to play at my club in Australia and he was one of the best midfielders we had and Jackson is the man ❤️☠️
