The inside drive audio is a game changer! Hope this continues
Me too. That was pretty cool.
Finally! You guys might have cracked the code to a good sounding V6!
I just put J pipes in my Caprice PPV. What a difference! I used a Solo axle back kit , replaced the two big heavy suitcase cop mufflers with basically straight pipe with J-pipes, not too loud and pleasant no drone inside. I still have the mid muffler and resonators. Take your car to a muffler shop for sure, they have every tool you might need. Especially if your exhaust is rusty like mine was. My bolts to the axle back mufflers were rusted so bad we had to cut them off
You have to find out what frequency is creating the drone in one’s car. After that there’s calculations to be figured out. to find out which will give one the correct length for the j -pipes. Have them installed right before the x pipe if possible. There’s plenty of knowledge on the internet about the lengths of the j pipe.
Nice work! 👊🏻😎🔨
Sounds pretty good.
Sounds great. I have a 392 challenger scat. Was wondering what u consider to be the best set up for a nice deep aggressive sound with no drone
I still hear some drone with headphones at 2200RPM ish. prety notieceable too imo, but omg theres nothing below that and thats so cool. 1500-2000 is where you cruise and drone can be a bitch. wonder if you could fix that 2200 RPM too
The drone I have figured out is at 2250 through 2500 I switched the minis to the larger dynomax race bullets.. not as loud but performance is better and drone rpm range was cut down it was at 2250 -3000.
I liked that inside driving!
Sounds really good!
They do great work. They work with you and will be honest about the choices you are making. They will, however do what you want since you are the customer. I will only work with them on my exhaust. Especially since I am experimenting. They take care of you.
So before this you had drone 2250-3000? What frequency did you choose for length calculations? Right in the middle? Curious as to how big of a +/- RPM it cuts down.
I have drone 1700-2700 RPM. Not sure if I should go in the middle with 2200rpm
Luv what you guys do. Wish you were closer to me.
Now that’s impressive for a v6
Nice videos keep them coming. Another way to not have drone would be to get black widow exhaust, their all tone and no drone. There an amazing sounding mufflers. I had my local exhaust shop install some on my 91 caprice classic with 305/5.0 V8 and he told me he thought they where going to be loud and droney and was surprised on how nice they sounded
you should make release ur own set of bolt on exhaust systems for cars!🔥
Huh, they do the worst job I have ever seen. I mean, they do what the customer wants, but more often than not, the systems are improperly designed, and the customer ends up losing power.
@@NathansKidneyStoneDoctor ik that but they have a fanbase thatll buy systems off them and i don’t mean handmade systems i mean systems fabricated by machines
@@NathansKidneyStoneDoctor Losing 2hp is not a concern man, this isn't a race car its a pentastar V6. Making it sound good in the required budget is what these guys are about, not shaving off the next tenth at the drag strip. Get over yourself. Having built several 1000+hp cars I would gladly sacrifice 50hp on my street rides to be able to hear myself think inside of it. I've done exactly that with my last Mustang. I canned the expensive long tubes and full exhaust for the factory setup with a TVS 2650 making 860rwhp. I lost like 35rwhp, big whoop.
Those J-Pipes are improperly designed. A J-Pipe shouldn't be in direct line with the flow of the exhaust. You could re-weld them 2-3" down stream, and they would do something, the way they are designed you lost power and made it more raspy.
Yep, a J-Pipe needs to take in sound frequencies from the side of a pipe. The way they made this system, is disrupting flow characteristics, but having minimal effect on drone.
Do you mean the inside side?
@@ItsMeHeath we decided to weld it there because we were trying to copy the solo design. They have it on the outside also. I have no drone until 2250-3000 under load. I’m still not sure exactly if it’s actually sound frequencies or the muffler vibrations. This is my car btw. Would love any input.
@@Cyber_Nomad_GalinarFacts, exhaust flowing into due to the path of least resistance
@@Cyber_Nomad_Galinarwhere should jpipes b located?
That sounds really nice.
I wonder if the jpipes would sound good with just the rear muffler delete
I need some mid jpipes badly. I had hushpower mufflers installed because they killed the scream at wot on my other hemi. But I didn't have them replace the resonators. This time I screwed up. 😞
Thank you for the explanation 👍
Glad it was helpful!
his 25.5 mog not bad! unless he lives on the highway all day
I always have heard jpipes give just a little more horsepower because more air flow. Also makes the exhaust louder on the outside and aggressive
Those J pipes seem to be the ticket. Good sound with no drone.
I installed a J-pipe size 2.5 with a length of 24 inches to remove the drone, but unfortunately it did nothing.
Sounds great ❤❤❤❤❤
I wish you were in Canada Ontario
Maybe one day!
Genuine question... Since the j pipe is in the rear, can you still put a h pipe in????
A H pipe is the cross piping like the X pipe shown in the video. The J pipes shouldn't interfere with the H pipe
beautifull mopar ❤
sounds really good 👌
Glad you like it!
Those J pipes are installed wrong. It needs to be welded so there is a 90 degree bend. Also there is a certain size they need to be for certain frequencies to be cancelled out. Meaning you need to find what rpms drone then match it to the charts people have made to make sure you have never have drone on any exhaust system… or just buy high quality like borla or corsa
Where should jpipes be on the exhaust to cancel out drone
Wow wish I would've known this years ago
This is a v6??
Yes.
Obviously
This world. Imagine buying a muscle car with none of the things that make it a muscle car other than fuel economy, or lack of, space, or lack of, and comfort, or lack of. It’s like he was at the dealership and said remove all the pros and finance all the cons please.
I had a Gt, went to a ta then went to an Sxt. I didn’t finance anything and have my reasons for choosing the v6 over the v8.
Disagree with that. I recently picked up a lightly used GT over an identically priced shaker with 20k more miles, but had some light cosmetic issues. This V6 is powerful, but not so powerful to be crazy scary like the shaker was... plus getting 32mpg highway from my driving results is a huge plus. . Got some muscle and still don't feel too hurt at the pump.
Nice
Thanks
🤔it sounds like a super car now
Sweet.
Thanks!
So like a soda can on a bike
Buy a real, complete exhaust & you won't have these silly issues with your V8
Well considering it’s a v6….
@@ClawDogVending Ikr? lol! Did he not listen to the video?
I’m putting the SLP exhaust on my 2014 Charger soon, I’ll have to report if a Hemi drones. It’s a Pursuit with very little insulation so with the stock exhaust there is some drone.
Don't think this is a Hemi. Probably the V6 Pentastar.
He said sxt plus didn’t he
@@icefv I think he implied at the beginning of the vid..."Maybe Hemi powered" but laffed it off.
@@mikejohnson9118he said baby hemi as like a joke I’m guessing
@@ABMTV01 ahhh I missed that. Oh well.
Terrible design on the "j pipes." All of the flow wants to go into the closed j pipe because it's on the outside of the bend. I'd be curious to see you dyno it. Dunno if it's bad enough to lose power, but I wouldn't be surprised. If it acutally reduced drone, you got lucky.
I did notice a loss in power after driving it for a week. Loss in torque take off. However I went back and changed the mini bullets to the 12 inch ones. All of the power came back. I think the smaller ones were creating to much back flow, however I’m only guessing here. No drone now except at 2250-3000…on load. Trying to figure that out.
I’m wondering though if what I am hearing is the actual muffler vibrating?
@@robertmullins-k2git’s drone still. Those J pipes needs to be on the inside or further back a few inches.
@@robertmullins-k2gLosing power due the to j pipe welded on the wrong spot. Exhaust is going to the path of least resistance which is into the J pipe
@@Newyen6MTwhere should jpipes go?
If u get a v6 keep it stock and not embarrass yourself even more than u already have by getting a v6
You should post more Tahoes
Doesn’t sound like a V8
Because it’s not.
@@ClawDogVending lol@ all the ones saying this. Did they not watch and listen to the video?
