FINALLY!!! You guys are actually able to hear the difference a crossover makes on a modern fuel injected vehicle!! Will say the 5.6 Endurance V8 sounds simular to the 5.0 coyote
It sounds very different. I'd say it sounds like Toyota's I-Force v8.
X pipes sound so much better. It’s sound. Not just noise
It's almost like everyone in the comments have been saying "Stop suggesting true dual"....
Yeah, it's almost like adding an H or an X actually has a performance benefit and these commenters watched the engine masters episode where they tested these three different styles on an engine dyno with repeated results.
@@BlackTownie999 Almost like an engine with 8 cylinders (or 6, 12, whatever) wants all 8 exhaust pulses to merge and scavenge each other for maximum velocity. Almost as if all the articles written about engines saying an exhaust needs to be tuned to maximum velocity and least backpressure possible, were right all along. Who knew...
I guarantee you everyone comes in and specifically asks for true duals because for some reason truck guys want that raspy shitty sound. I don't know why but I hear it almost daily.
@@ghunt81I just want it loud af. F the haters.
@@AmericanNuke54you'll grow up one day and realize that tone is alot more important than volume.
Xpipes always make stuff sound so much better
The exhaust undoubtedly sounds better with the X-pipe installed.
You can actually hear the tone far better and it is smoother, but the Cherry Bombs might be a disservice to that truck. They are just too raspy and seem more like a distraction than anything.
It might have been nice to hear a pair of Vibrant bottle resonators or maybe a pair of Borla XR-1s instead for a better sound.
I didn’t realize how much a simple xpipe could clean up some sound.
X pipe sounds alot better indeed. Good sounding truck. 😎👍
Those Titans all have that sweet sounding 5.6 V8
Ye even the older ones without variable valve timing
If its too loud, you're too old! HA! I would have to agree, the X pipe made a great difference for the better!
Is that an airheads reference?
That x pipe definitely added some torque
As an all position certified welder, I’m confused why you don’t just wire brush the paint off.
Yo that's what I'm saying..
It would literally take seconds to zip the paint off with a wire wheel lmao.
Would not matter, their welds sucks on new mild steel pipe or painted pipe.
Same reason they don't take labels off the ends of the muffler pipe...LAZINESS!!
Don’t watch these guys for their welds or techniques you’ll pull your hair out 🤣
@@J35Y6.B58 About every 10th video, you will see a decent weld.
At one time, someone worked there who could actually weld instead of blob. 🤔
why would they? it takes time and you dont need to do so
I think an x pipe might be in my future, that takeoff into traffic sounded so much nicer than the true duals
Now what I really want to see is someone do an equal length exhaust (with a passenger side “trombone loop” maybe) with an x-pipe on one of these trucks. It would probably sound a lot like the 5.6L Q70 at that point.
X-pipe definitely a must for a true dual setup.
First mistake was cherry bombs
I didnt know that import V8s can sound that rowdy to be honest In my opinion the x pipe made a huge difference as especially for a daily driver. One con of a custom exhaust is the drone, crossovers in general cut down on the drone. depending the setup, HP and torque do go up with crossovers because of the exhaust scavenging and reducing or if possible getting rid of back pressure
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better with the X pipe 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 i think these modern v8s should not be true dualed, they need that x or h pipe for scavenging and quality sound! Great job on the work too guys!!
X pipe made a huge difference
Sounds good
A x or H pipe really settles down duals. I had a dakota r/t that had flowmaster 10 series, it got all kinds of raspy and sounded really bad. Add a cross over (h-ppipe) and it settled it down so much... it was was sooooo much better.
Love your videos. The amount of effort you guys put in in doing the before and after videos is wild. My X5M sounds amazing now mostly in part to your videos. Thanks so much!
I love how I have been popping in to say "This needs a mid-pipe" lmao
Thank you for the advice 👍
If you like the cackle, go straight duels no cats, with glass packs and long tail pipes...... Its not about loud, its the tone.......
Sounds so much cleaner with X-pipe. Hey have you guys ever tried doing an X and H pipe together on same dual exhaust? Corsa offers a double X-pipe or a double H-pipe mid section for Mustangs and Borla offers the Switchfire X-pipe, but haven't seen any aftermarket offerings of an X & H combined. The 14-19 Maserati Ghibli v6 turbo has both combined from factory with a resonator between them and sounds so good for a turbo car. Maybe experiment with something like that on different vehicles and if it's worth it, you can do a EASS-X&H (Exhaust Addicts Signature Series) mid section for any dual exhaust vehicle.
On one of the first top 5 best of mustang videos done on this channel, one of the mustangs has a H into a X duo, with glass packs, sounded really deep and clean, but wonder how much drone...
Worth a try
Sounds so much better with an X-pipe, and I'd bet makes a bit more power as well...
if you use a better x pipe itll remove rasp entirely. those generic universal style xpipes are better than nothing at all, but a custom one is not even comparable. the universals have too sharp of bends in the X to fully eliminate the rasp resonance.
Now, let's do it right:
1) Long tube headers
2) Single high flow cat
3) 3-4 inch exhaust
4) True dual
5) Flow through muffler
Deep resonance and clean sound.
My Titan has an X with a dual in dual out super 10 flowmaster. It's not very loud just sounds perfect for a daily driver
Watching this you are giving me some great ideas. I have a mint 2008 300C Heritage (inferno red pearl) HEMI 5.7 just broke 100K miles. It needs some rumble. Subscribed, and thanks!
Needs some vibrant resonators to clean the rasp a bit
There it is - much better!!!! Nice work!
Out of all the videos this is exactly what I needed to actually hear instead of being explained lol
X-Pipe worked wonders on this. Always better to run an X Pipe if you have any engine with headers. Rather than a Civic with a header.
I'm a subscriber! I had cherry bombs on my 1500 sport pickup, it was insanely loud, iPhone speakers and headphones don't do them justice, you gotta be there in person !!
I have a 23 titan pro 4x and I just installed a z1 off road catback exhaust feels like it taking longer to downshift when coming to a stop and sometimes before a full stop if I give it gas to go I hear a bang not sure what going on but something definitely feels different could a cat back exhaust cause problems with my truck? This is my first truck and exhaust not sure if it me because I could hear everything now 🤯
Instead of complaining that they paint the mufflers making it hard to weld, just sand it off on the ends
Question if I was going too do exhaust cut outs on a 87 Monte Carlo would I put them behind the headers or behind my x pipe
The M80 is NOT a glass pack muffler. It is a single chambered tubular muffler. No fiberglass in it. That being said I'm glad people are str as eating to wise up when it comes to truel duals. Research people!
Sounds Awesome 👌
Sounds much better ❤with the x pipe 😊
The X pipe makes a big difference
Sounds good 👍
Would like to hear a 2nd gen titan with H pipe and different mufflers
It would be a benefit to the viewers to show a decibel meter inside the vehicle.
Even better, you can recommend a dual in/ dual out muffler that offers cost savings, crossover benefits, and improved sound.
What x pipe should I get that’s good but not crazy expensive
Much better.
Bro our names are similar
You should do some with an H pipe. Love that sound
the only time you should ever use an H pipe is when there isnt enough room to put an X pipe. H pipes dont remove rasp at all, it just changes the tone of it, and performance has been proven countless times that its always be worse than X
@@KableTac it’s a matter of preference. H pipe gives it that old school muscle car sound, X pipe gives it that raspy racecar sound. H pipe shits the power band into the lower rpm range, X pipe shifts it to the mid to upper rpm range. H pipe is better for Low end torque and daily driving due to this fact. X pipe provides better over all high performance.
They won’t install H pipes I’ve already tried.
Wow that’s alot quieter inside than I thought it would be
As an owner of a Titan I can attest that these 5.6L V8's definitely need an X-pipe or H-pipe as without it they are raspy as hell
Wondering if you know what happen to quickflow mufflers??????? Anyone know
Weld the cherrys together?
Modern V8s seem much happier with either a X or H pipe. True dual ia a siund mod not a performance mod. This truck sounded better with the X pipe.
First set up sounds like an old smoker with a hacking cough. Much quieter and better after adding the x-pipe. X- pipes don't perform as efficiently as possible unless the volume of the pipes leading up to the x-pipe match the volume of each cylinder bank in multiples. So if not equal, then double length on one side. Properly engineered x-pipe placement takes the cylinder volume of each bank into consideration when choosing pipe length and diameter.
Totally false but ok 🙄
Ye you need to learn about exhaust scavenging
@@PYROtheNomad Why don't you teach us how it works? I can tell you why it might not unless you get lucky.
@@jmc6000 Why don't you teach me why you think my statement is false?
@@Mechaniclemaniac if you think of exhaust gasses like a sound wave they have a peek and a valley which is like the pulses of the exhaust. An xpipe basically fills in the valley of one bank with the peek of the other. It makes one continuous wave which is why it gets quieter. It creates negative pressure which allows the exhaust gasses to be evacuated faster, in turn putting less stress on the engine by reducing backwards flow or back pressure. The only reason it sounds so airy on the video is because of the echo in the shop. And btw it’s my dads truck I’ve driven it, I’ve heard it in person, You can feel the difference in torque and power, you can hear how smooth the tone is.
Does x pipe trigger check engine light ?
No X pipe sounds way too raspy. X pipe sounds more civilized. Not a fan of the booger weld between the two M80s. Shoulda used a welded strap
Yeah wtf was that shit? Anything would have been better than that weld. Two 6" pieces of ¼ inch round stock or strapping, anything but that gooberweld. Probably put a hole in the muffler trying to weld through paint.😂
To take out the rasp, you have to literally fit the longest resonator you can find in there. Those m80300s are too short...
Awesome 👌
it surprises me you use a variety of pipe diameter in these exhausts. you go from 3 to 2,25 add 3" mufflers, and then 2,5 inch out... Why not keep everything at 2,5?
Would have liked to here it when it was just the m80’s before toy X it out .
Sounds better with no x pipe
Xpipe! Rasp is bad.
Where's the before?
Do yall ever re use some of the exhaust stuff yall take off? I can understand if you don't want to answer that but it would be cool if you always offered a cheaper alternative 'parts wise' when possible.
If I was the owner of this truck, I'd have taken that mini muffler with me. Can always be used on another build, or with a friend's build.
@@fgj8379 You understood clearly why I asked that! Hahaha! Yeah,I wouldn't have left it behind either.
X pipe helps with scavenging not back pressure
What does scavenging mean?😅
Nissans are cool because it ain't a damn Chevy...
If it rids the clap, I’m happy
Looks like a baby bullet 😂
I hope nobody gets in trouble
Sounds better with no x pipe on it
Loauder the better
True duals = crap
X pipe = good
I have dual set up on my Mopar
Ye but the 5.7 hemi is nothing like the 5.6 in the Titan
H pipe = best
Too loud for me.
true dual is so much better on this
Who stuck their boogers between the mufflers?
Paint or not that’s some terrible welding!!! 👎🏼
H pipe would have been better
Only do Mopar!!!
I like the raspiness without the x pipe better.
xpipe or go home!
