Great shooting, Bloke! I love the scenes of Swiss folks on bicycles with rifles slung on their backs. Also, that electronic target system is fantastic. I grew up firing a group, running down range to check and mark the target, firing another group, rinse and repeat.

Next year you have to come to Rechthalten. It won't be on a normal range like in Aarberg but rather on the field. This year it was in Ueberstorf and it was great!
My K31 is also a 1947 as far as I could ascertain. I’ve added a slip-on butt pad and a Vortex 2-7 power “Scout” telescopic sight.. Sacrilege I know, but a more modern and cost effective alternative to a very pricey target sight. My local club range is indoors and “only” 100m, but outdoors and further is extremely scarce in Belgium. I’m inspired to give the old dame an outing again soon!
All the best for the finals! Good shooting. It's really nice to see that they immediately tried to help you out with the 1 minute if it wasn't intentional. If you can film the final, we'll watch.
Cool stuff, in Ontario Canada there is a group of Swiss expats who have an arrangement with the Ontario Rifle Association to shoot the annual competitions at a Canadian military range. I’ve been meaning to check it out with my k31 but haven’t had the chance yet
Great video, never got to go to a field shoot, I did get to attend multiple team shoots from 89-97, and moved to the US in 98. I have made it back to Solothurn a few years back and got to shoot an afternoon in the club. In the beginning I mainly shot the Stgw57, and started using only the stgw90 around 1995 for the Thun shoot. I also participated in the 50 meter pistol with my GSP, and did have for a while a 210-4. Would love to be able to show up with my K-31 for a shoot. I do use my champion glasses, but have not changed the lens since mid 90’s. I have slowly made it to 60’s so not what I use to be in shooting.
It should but I think it's only a swiss thing. When I was younger I also cycled with rifle on the back and took a break. Talked to a dutch group who was on vacation and they asked me why I had a rifle on the back. I think they were a bit scared because it's not something you see in a lot of places.
Thank You for such nice video. I kinda envy that we dont have competition like that in Czech Republic, even we have also favour in guns. But anyway, congratulation to your succes and I wish you luck with final competition!
you were better than me with my stgw 90. I only got 61. those groups are amazing, I'll definitely try out what you said about aiming at the bottom part I usually aim right at that shoulder line as reference.
Bloke, I agree with you!!! Prone unsupported needs to be a skill that shooters are required to compete in. There can be an additional class of prone supported. But both need to be tested. Additionally off hand and kneeling are both that should be required.
Thank you Bloke and Blokelette. Well done for going hardcore and not shooting off a rest or bipod. I thought your rifle was very quiet until I realised you were taking some dry shots to warm up and settle in!!! Question - do you wear special glasses for shooting or just your everyday ones?

Problem is that only the GP90 is subsidised, many of the 7.5mm weapons will slowly disappear from the Fäldschiesse.
Sad about this choice and think I also will take my K31 out of the safe and try my hand on it, military standard as issued to my dad in 1951.
That decision has been overturned. GP11 price remains unchanged.
@@BlokeontheRange nice to hear.
I had the habit of doing the FS and OS the same day.
Usually using my Fass90 for the OS and either my old Fass57 or my dad's K31, alternatively my father in law's, for the FS.
how big is that "4" ring?
20cm = 2.3 MOA, I think I put that as text in the video
@@BlokeontheRange jeez thats tight. 10-ring on a SR target is 7" at 200 yds (3.5 moa)
Es ist erst bei Regen und Wind schwer 🤣
I hear Germans talking at 6:54 - is the Feldschiessen open to foreign competitors? Or do you have to have an address in Switzerland? Or a Swiss passport?
I think that non-residents can compete but have to pay their own ammo these days. They insist on your Swiss social security number now on the scoresheet.
"Feldschiessen"
Careful how you pronounce that.😉
Man, Swiss German sounds so freaking weird.
Nein 300 Meter ist bei uns Standard ohne ZF.
