@@marthajane6617 I'm in total agreement.. nobody could touch him.. nobody can immulate the sound of his voice.. when you hear him sing you know it is David Ruffin immediately. This Man was touched by God.
This is my favorite David Ruffin song.. the lyrics are beautiful.. but Mr Ruffin is absolutely peerless in his interpretation of them. Nobody could have delivered this level of excellence.. Nobody !!
And just 4 short months later, I was listening to my car radio to hear of the tragic/sad news of David's untimely death. He was gone too soon, but will NEVER, NEVER EVER be forgotten. Sunshine hasn't been the same..."Since I lost my favorite soul singer"...
Wow that Voice!! just think ,, now hes up in Heaven singing to the Glory of God,, with his Whole body,, in Spirit. A Gift to him from The Lord Jesus,,s God giving voice ,, we were blessed to have him het on earth,,His music lives here with us,,A Legend👏
Probably my all-time favorite Motown tune. Ruffin just drips with emotion, intensity and vocal nuances not to mention gorgeous tonalities throughout the song.
David Ruffin an ICON that Never will be Forgotten. I really do not have words for the voice of David because when God is involved what can you say AMAZING. .David had an voice that was from Heaven. Love 💘 The Temptations Forever.
I was really heart broken when I heard how and where he was found dead! So sad such a senseless loss of talent; drugs have taken so many good lives! RIP David...
How and Where? He died in a Philadelphia Hospital with his family there. I'm completely guessing/assuming that your comment was in reference to either Otis' book or the screenplay adapted from it. They were successfully sued for that lie .The FACTS about what transpired, when, where, and it's circumstances (if researched) are proven factually by documents and hard evidence directly from agencies, authorities,&personnel on scene and/or involved. Otis is 1 person, wrote the book AFTER no other Temp. was alive, and had absolutely NOTHING to back up his claim.
This period of music and talent seems to be lost in the younger people of today ..I feel sad that so many will never be able to experience the spine tingling performances of this period ....what sweet memories that I am thankful for .
"Since I Lost My Baby" is probably my favorite song ever. Dont know how many times I listened to this song in heartache. These songs reflected so much soul in the most basic words. Music cant really accomplish that as easily nowadays. Nowadays, the words are so much more complicated, but somehow dont seem as genuine. Thanks Dad for introducing me to Motown as a child.
This really makes me smile. I can't really explain it, his aura, his voice, him checking his beeper, the younger David singing the original recording in the background, the sadness of his life at that time, the song itself-he is just so beautiful singing this. Miss and love you David!
@@juniorm.7859 Junior, so sorry for this very late get back, I believe it was XXV. I just always refer to it as the “Whitney Houston Super Bowl” Great game, lots of drama Giants beat the Bills. I hope all is well with you.
@@garymayfield5995 That’s the right word Gary. And all these years later, the Original Five are still untouchable. My very best to you and your great taste
If I were stranded on an isnand and I could only have three groups and their music to listen to, I would choose the Temptations, Beach Boys, and The Rolling Stones
4:06-4:15 when they show the younger pic of him then he does the lil spin and grabs the air. That took me out. He still had it, I just wish he was still here.
So good to see David, Dennis & Eddie. They toured together. They were friends, even though Dennis replaced David, they were still friends. Beautiful song. I miss those days. I miss seeing my big brother Johnny, singing (he could sing) and dancing like David Ruffin, his favorite Temp. .
This song brings me to tears because it reminds me of .my lost love i lost a long time ago after i graduated from Hubbard High School and after 25 years it still hurts.
I'm just friggin blown 'away, their voices sound so damn good together, just listen to Eddie back there, I just cant stop, thank you Berry Gordy for Motown, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
These phenomenal singers were performing; sharing their gifts w/the world. Yet, the US Military wasn't fighting for our country. They were being used as tools for the bush regime. Takes nothing away from these great talents.
That "... and with money I'm puh-orr" is one of the smoothest end notes every hit in the history of ending musical notes. Mr. Ruffin's voice is perfectly sad & pleasantly smooth on this song.
Damnnn just look how great Dennis and Eddie perform with the legendary David Ruffin....just imagine if Berry Gordy had kicked Otis out of the group back in '68 and replaced HIM with Dennis....that group would have gone on for YEARS making hit after hit after hit....
It's refreshing to hear positive comments about David rather than continuing the negative image that was portrayed in the Temptations movie. David was not the only Temptation to use drugs. He wasn't the only former Temptation to die from a drug overdose. I would like to hear Dennis Edwards' prospective. He seems to be a lot more honest.
I love the fact that whenever Dennis Edwards spoke of his David Ruffin, he did so with much Love and Respect and Adoration. They were like Brothers and Dennis never said a bad thing about, David. I am so happy that he always showed Respect for his good friend and brother, the great David Ruffin.
God had Anointed David (The Diamond 💎 In The Ruff Ruffdry l)Ruffin to sing from his own personal experiences and it transcended over to us and touched our hearts and spoke everything that we couldn't say out of our mouths.
