You always should rinse your conditioner with cool water,to lock your cuticle

It temporarily constricts it, but chemically, pH wise, water doesn’t do what an acid, or conditioner can.
Once heat or the hair reaches room temp, the “effect” goes away.
But it’s definitely less swelling and stripping than hot water.

@@bevnelson5785 Sulfate free is usually good enough. Sodium free even better.
An acid/conditioner helps with actual dryness.
Shampoo is still just cleanser at the end of the day. Unless you have super fine straight oily hair, I’d focus more on a hydrating or color safe conditioner/hair mask.
Shampoo isn’t meant to hydrate the hair. It CAN have ingredients to help with that, but conditioner is literally what that’s for.
Drying the hair with medium heat and then using cool air at the end does nothing other than cool the hair into the shape you gave it.
But again, once things like sweating from heat/or humidity get in the picture, all this temperature stuff becomes irrelevant.

Tips for human hair wigs that get frizzy/matted extremely quickly?

Dunking them in a bowl or bucket of ice and water. I had a friend that did installs and sew-in and braids and that was her trick to “refresh” a piece
