For those didn't know, they changed the ending a bit so maybe there's no S2 for this anime. The real ending part is Alicia stab Yumiella before demon lord die, and everyone dead except The Prince and Yumiella, Alicia ended up dead too

This was a great episode. I liked how Patrick got over his fear of flying and went with Ryu to see how his girlfriend was doing. Patrick was smart to give her that necklace that protected her from Alicia's attack.
By "girlfriend", you mean Yumiellaa? She is strong and creative with her magic but the Main Issue is that she's insanely Dense and a Chuunibyou like Cid Kagenou from "Eminence in Shadow". Plus She hasn't yet answered Patrick's love after he kissed Yumiella.

@@Covefielplus anime version of alicia makes way more sense. Alicia hating yumiella on racism is opposite of kindness and really comes out of nowhere. In the anime, alicia seeing yumi as mass of darkness gives her better reason why she doubted yumiella. I mean who doesn't get suspicious when everyone sees normal girl yet you see her as pool of darkness without discernible form? Considering her light magic, it makes sense she might thought yumi as non human who were disguising herself but she can see through with her light magic. Plus with the stupid prince leaking the demon lord info, it makes even more sense that she thought yumi is might be demon lord bcs 1. The timing is close and 2. She uses light magic which is the only weakness of darkness, so thinking demon lord might hide in academy to kill her is not so out of reach
No, Alicia is a lot more approachable to Yumiella in the anime, because they are following the manga's take on the character. Since the manga's not this far yet they have to come up with their version of a volume 1 ending keeping in line with how Alicia is depicted in this adaptation. Nothing more.
It's more like something else to it, otherwise she wouldn't have reincarnated into that world, likely the priest turned the kingdom against the demon lord out of jealousy and has been trying to take control of Alicia while inside her magic! So, that's just a theory
more like a god's action cause in the later novels you find about gods, the whole limit level 99 breaking like the ending lyrics Allude too. And what is required to do so
I love how awkwardly bland Yumiella's voice was while cheering Edwin on in this scene 😂 , while everyone else's reactions were (understandably) dramatic. Yumiella: 😮 Hold her tighterrr~....
I love how Yumiella forces the game to end by creating a final love event. She is after all an optional boss. One point against the game canon fate cliche. Its a breath of fresh air. Compared to other villainess endings and what i heard from Web Novel.
According to some comments, the original author of both the Web Novel and the Light Novel actually praised the changes made by the manga artist to the story. Can't say I blame him, this defiitelly makes things more interesting _(and less insufferable, I heard Oz and Will were particularly unbearable)._ The whole "Alicia is compelled by the game's plot" thing was actually a genius way to make her character more likeable, but still keep her eventual betrayal inevitable, though now sprinkled with a tinge of tragedy since in this version, she's not actually in control of her actions when it happens.
She doesn't "forces the game to end" since it is not a game she is in, but an actual world. Like it is stated later there are higher planes above this world one that sees this world as a game. I have an idea of what it might be that controlled Alicia, but that is not till either season 2 or 3 if there is one.
@@above.average.gaming.natio3026 not that i or Yumiella knows about it yeah... In the LN it was mentioned Yumiella didn't like how it felt killing the Demon Lord and she says she concideres the idea of killing someone digusting, which is normal for someone with the morals of modern Japan and our world. it was only shown that she didn't kill any of her assasins just like in the LN. The anime sidelines non-comedy serious parts that add alot to the characters.

I also want season 2, but they changed the ending and this almost always means no second season. in the webnovel, Alice and the rest of the team, except Edwin dies, and in the light novel, they are arrested for treason. Additionally, in both versions, Alice is actually a giant Yandere who is obsessed with ki*ling Yumiell....
For those saying they're glad the anime changed the finale so drastically this way because it was better... Well that's nice that you enjoyed it... But that means we're likely not getting a second season as this was the anime's way of telling you that it's over they have no intention on continuing it.
It was mentioned Alicia may still get punished so it's not going to be that far off from her incarnation in the LN. If the anime does season 2 they can still make it work anyway, if they don't continue it'd be for a different reason.

Okay this anime may not get a season 2, as that's some substantial change in the ending Alicia, the Red Head Guy and Glasses Guy betrayed the group thus only Patrick and Yumiella survived at end. Then following chapters are just Yumiella dealings on matters of politics with the other countries, the dark forces trying to convince Yumiella to go to their side, meeting a goddess who gives Yumiella a blessing and a mission and Yumiella trying break her limits to over level 99 which she does and can now grow even stronger
Oh thank goodness. I knew that Alicia betrayed Yumillia out of fear in the web series, and I was really hoping that it would be different in the anime. Now it's the game, rather than Alicia refusing to learn from what happened.
Apperantly, the anime follows the manga adaptation more closely, which seemingly is the one who first introduced these changes. (game's plot drive, Oz and Will more likeable, Alicia actually trying to get along with Yumiella, etc) According to what I've heard, the Light Novel version follows pretty much the same route as the Web Novel, with the exception that Alicia, Oz and Will survive and are not killed by the Demon Lord. _(and apperantly become antagonists in... Volume 8, I think it was?)_
If only more animes would change endings (and for that matter other troubling plot points) from the source material that is lacking in some places in terms of story, characterization etc. Sure, this last episode was rushed as hell (as was the previous episode resolving an entire sub plot of Yumiella's parents in just 1 episode) and in some places was a bit clumsy in terms of execution, but I am still glad that they changed ending into something a bit more positive and hopeful (as that whole original ending of Alicia being a paranoid and cowardly weakling and then being imprisoned for her crimes (which happened in the light novel. In the original web novel version, she is killed by the demon lord after her betrayal), was completely unsatisfying). If this show actually manages to get 2nd season (which I don't think it will, but here's to hoping), there is a lot of potential for new version of the story, with Alicia now being one of the recurring characters (instead of being completely discarded after 1st volume of the light novel).

I enjoyed the light novels, but this adaptation is anything but a winner. The CGI alone was so bad that you'd think the studio was trying to usurp Berserk 2016 as the king of bad CG. Seriously, the 2010s era of anime has Berserk as the example of how not to use CG, and the 2020s has this as it's example. It really is that bad. If you haven't yet, read the LNs, I guarantee you like this story SO much more with them.
Fun fact: when alicia betray yumiella with 2 idiot they think they can fight yumiella because there level combine is 120 (40x3) which exceed yumiella level.
For me, who read the original web novel, I felt very disappointed with the ending, I would have preferred Alicia and the other two to die, I think it doesn't make sense that they suddenly became friends, even in the previous episode they both openly accused Yumiella because Alicia was missing, from the first episode Also Alicia seems to really dislike Yumiella
He was, once, but there's a difference between wanting revenge for being wronged and wanting to destroy an entire kingdom full of people who played no part in wronging you. The people the Demon Lord wanted vengeance against are all long dead, and the people still alive had no idea about what had happened. The Demon Lord had a right to be angry and to want retribution, but he didn't have a right to kill innocent people because of it.
I watched it subbed and he said "And then i launched my counterattack to destroy the human world" If him being wronged by a king justifies global genocide in his head he needs to get put down
@@RagingD3mon Well, he was basically persecuted by the whole world just for his hair who wouldn't do the same if you were persecuted for a very stupid reason. Especially if the one persecuting you were really just jealous.
I think that the Priest mind control the king to turn against the now Demon Lord out of jealousy, and is somehow living in Alicia's (ancestor) magic, slowly trying to take control of her!
I think the fact that the ending changes depending on what source material you get your hands on is interesting. It's definitely like how you'd play a 'choose-your-own-adventure' game. Personally, I think they're all canon. Kinda like a multiverse setting. Each ending is real but that doesn't mean it's the only one much like how you can play any game you like over and over again and get multiple endings (given that the story is well-written of course).
my friend it's a multiverse thing in this franchise. Which is an excuse for Adaptation Drift: An adaptation deviates more and more from the source material as it goes on. it's baked in here so you don't really need to worry about things like canon which this is based on a VN, a type of game that tends to have multiple endings anything depending on the choices made.
The ending was a bit weird and rushed to me, but I think the anime team did a good job with what they had. They managed to wrap up the story nicely and give us a satisfying ending, which I'm happy with. (Web novel and light novel spoilers down below) Apparently, the anime handled this bit quite differently from the web/light novels. In the novels, before the party enters the Demon Lord's chamber, Alicia attacks Yumiella. This is not because the game is forcing her to, she was convinced that Yumiella would become the next Demon Lord and thought it'd be better to get rid of her. Will and Oz side with Alicia while only prince Edwin is on Yumiella's side and tries to reason with them. That is when the Demon Lord launches a surprise attack. In the web novel, Yumiella manages to protect Edwin while the others are killed. The light novel takes a slightly different approach as everyone survives but Alicia and her goons are later branded as traitors and thrown into jail. With all of that taken into consideration, I'm satisfied with the ending the anime gave us.
After reading some comments here, i´ve come to a hypothesis or rather, how to continue the story from here: After some time, a traveler appears in the kingdom and he want an audience with the prince, Alicia and Yumelia. THere he reveals, that he can travel between the timelines. In which he told them, that what ever happen in the LN and WN is in fact canon in thier worlds. He also told them, what also happen in a other world/timeline, in which Alicia jumps over her shadow and befriended with Yumelia. In that timeline, Yumelia got some more friends, is still badass in terms of leveling and how to level. She and Patrick also got together, but the Amulet of Protection she got, was from Alicia. Thjey fought the Demonlord and defeated him as well, but just then Alicia cries out to Yumelia to run away. Here as well, Alicia got possessed by something and she doesn´t want to kill Yumelia. The Prince and the others try to stop Alicia, but it´s pointless. Yumelia however doesn´t run away. She took of the AMulet and approaches Alicia, walks right into the knife and comforts Alicia. Yumelia has found in here the closest friend she could ever wish for. Yumelia passes away, Alicia is heart brocken and the Prince is frustrated. They all decide, to protect from this point all darker haired people, so they would never suffer as much, as Yumelia in thier timeline did, before they befriended with her. hmm.. sad story, i have to admit.
4:03 i was expecting a corpse voice for Yumiella ngl- the squeak when she got stabbed probably was the highest her voice got. Also she can survive the demon Lord but not a simple dagger?
Actually that's not a normal dagger, but a special light-attributed dagger or sth (I don't remember much). Yumiella is strong, but Alicia's light attribute is the perfect counter to her dark attribute, and since her level gone up quite a lot, it made it possible for her to kill Yumiella
Anyone know the song at the end when the five of them started fighting? I really like that song but I don’t know the name Edit: nvm found it. It is ray of light by hanatan
It was like that in the LN as well, one volume. Only difference is how the betrayal went. Alicia in the LN was nowhere near likable and sympathetic as she is in the anime and the manga.
so far i knew two anime based from LN which changed the story at the last episode. they are : "Yumemiru Danshi" and this " villainess level 99" i absolutely hate Yumemiru danshi ending as for this villainess lvl 99 anime. it become more lighter as ending. but the point is. both anime would not get 2nd season. for sure
I don't know if I should feel about this ending. I read up to vol 4 but Alicia is still not coming back. I wished the author would give her more roles in the story.
Apperantly, the manga is the main source of inspiration for the anime. Alicia's more likeable character, the whole game's plot driving force, Oz and Will actually shocked and against Alicia killing Yumiella, etc. The original author wrote the Web and Light Novel, but wasn't involved with the manga adaptation. By what others are saying, he actually praised the changes the manga had made. As for the Light Novel, I heard Alicia and the other two betrayers actually come back around Volume 8... _if I'm not misremembering._ Apperantly, they escape prison, join a rival kingdom and basically become antagonists. _I dunno, it's just something I read in passing._ Take it with a grain of salt, cause this whole thing could be totally wrong.
I see. They changed the ending for Alicia. I had a feeling that this was going to happen because in the anime version Alicia isn't shown to be full-on racist and completely motivated by fear. In the web novel she tried to stab Yumiella to death over here with that glasses and red hair fully aware of her plan (and they allowed it to happen). All three of them died in battle. In light novel version, they didn't die because this version of Yumiella had better control of her power. As a result, glasses and red hair were sentenced to lifetime imprisonment while Alicia, while on the surface was also sentenced to life imprisonment, was secretly made to endure her Light User training (like, a ton of hellish training) as her punishment. This was done not just to punish her (because she hated the training she had in the dungeon) but the kingdom's way of trying to get a counter-force against Yumiella in case she goes rogue and becomes the kingdom's enemy. Thankfully, she didn't turn evil even after her level cap was lifted in the late chapters so Alicia still gets to live...in fear of Yumiella still though.
Whatever yall saying about the ending changed, they did a great enough to make this smooth ending eventho i do really want a next season, but this ending wasn’t as dark as in the LN yall said. Everyone (oz and the other person i forgot his name) was died except for the prince? It was sad tho to know that. Here, everyone accepting yumiella as a friend that helps them. In this anime it shows their world can be at peace without the drama of killing each other to have peace. All in all this ending is actually a peaceful one. But it would be nice and i would love to have another season with a nice wrapped up ending like this season
My only question is did ryu either grow out of the biting head habnit or does people just acknowledge it and it becomes normal and people who dont know freak out when they see it.
Actually, I heard this is the ending planned for the manga version. It hasn't reached this point yet, but seemingly, many of the changes in the anime _game's plot driving Alicia beyond her control, Oz and Will being a little less douchebags, Alicia approaching and trying to get along with Yumiella, etc)_ were actually done in the *manga adaptation* of the story. I can't exactly confirm, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But some folks are saying that the author of the original Web Novel and Light Novel actually praised the changes made by the manga artist. Seemingly, because the author himself was unsure of what to do with Alicia's character and he thought the manga handled it pretty well. _(again, take this with a grain of salt)_
They completely changed the ending of the first arc. Alicia, Oswald and Willaim are supposed to die before Yumiella vs Demon king. I guess there won't be any more seasons. They also made the demon lord's story a lot less compassionate.
You know what, I think this ending is better than the novel’s👌🏻 although, it does make me curious about the manga’s. (I don’t know if it’s already completed or not because the update is taking so loooong 😩) Anyways, get you a boyfriend who’s willing to go to the dungeon for a date and still worry for your safety even though you’re op 👍
Eh, I preferred the original ending since it gives the prince's character depth and finally gives a chance to the blonde noble girl to mend their relationship; to each their own I guess...
It would have been a much better ending if our mc died then and there. That would have been such a great “fuck you” to the audience. Also the chaos after her death would have been amazing to watch.
They didn't change the plot, plus the deaths happened in the web novel which is basically a rough draft. Overall the change wasn't that drastic to the point season 2 would be impossible as some doom parrots have been crowing.
The ending where Alicia is a traitor, which one was that? Is it the manga or the novel? From looking at the comments I guess we can consider the anime's ending the good, ending I suppose, idk I wonder which plot is canon, probably the original Also I am somewhat convinced the game's function and plot to be the real villain all along

I actually preferred this over Alicia’s violent ending in the novel neatly gives a much happier ending to the story, not to say we didn’t get that in the novel, but Alicia’s end kinda negated all of Yumiella’s hard work of leveling up the main cast only to see most of them die because of Alicia’s selfishness. I get it was to do the big reveal that their ancestors, the past set of heroes were actually spineless dicks who betrayed the mage on their team, all because they thought his power was “evil” (hence starting the bias against people with dark hair and eyes).
DARK ENDING i wrote this ending because i hated the original ending. In the aftermath of the climactic battle against the demon lord, a moment of triumph turns to horror as Alicia, caught in a haze of unconsciousness, delivers a fatal blow to Yumiella. The entire team stands frozen in shock as Yumiella collapses, her life slipping away before their eyes. As realization dawns on Alicia, she is consumed by overwhelming panic and remorse. The weight of her actions crashes down upon her like a tidal wave, drowning her in guilt and despair. She falls to her knees beside Yumiella's lifeless body, her heart torn apart by the knowledge of what she has done. In the days that follow, Alicia is haunted by the specter of her unwitting betrayal. The once vibrant world around her dims to shades of gray as she grapples with the enormity of her mistake. Every waking moment is consumed by the echo of Yumiella's final moments, a constant reminder of the irreparable damage she has wrought. Driven to the brink of madness by her guilt, Alicia turns herself in, desperate to atone for her sins. But even as she faces judgment for her actions, there is no solace to be found. The weight of Yumiella's death hangs heavy around her neck, a burden she can never hope to escape. In the end, Alicia meets her fate at the hands of justice, her head bowed in penance as the executioner's blade falls. As her life is snuffed out, the echoes of her remorse reverberate through the halls of history, a grim reminder of the consequences of unchecked ambition and the devastating power of unintended consequences. They should have made it in two to three episodes where in one ep Patrick could show his excellent leadership and skills and the other two in which they defeat the demon lord. But I think they just rushed it. In my opinion this episode is truly disappointing 😢😢😢.
Still kinda disappointed with the ending. The light novel ending was much more satisfying tbh. That explains why Alicia seemed a lot more approachable to Yumellia in the anime. They planned this ending out from the start.
Yep
honestly for the best apparently in both Anime and Ln Yumiella feel remorse for killing the Dark lord so is only fair she wouldnt want to kill Alicia even whit the betrayal
Nothing more.
okay atleast they made that hateful scene of Alicia from the novel to a point wherein its the game function doing it.
It's more like something else to it, otherwise she wouldn't have reincarnated into that world, likely the priest turned the kingdom against the demon lord out of jealousy and has been trying to take control of Alicia while inside her magic! So, that's just a theory

Yumiella: 😮 Hold her tighterrr~....
She basically invoked the power of love and friendship trope to get the good ending and the whole thing was so generically and awkwardly done
Can't say I blame him, this defiitelly makes things more interesting _(and less insufferable, I heard Oz and Will were particularly unbearable)._
The whole "Alicia is compelled by the game's plot" thing was actually a genius way to make her character more likeable, but still keep her eventual betrayal inevitable, though now sprinkled with a tinge of tragedy since in this version, she's not actually in control of her actions when it happens.
Only thing Yumiella knows "right now" since she thinks it follows the game

What's more left
@biomechsamurai1921 Well apparently the anime didn't even animate the first two volumes yet currently there are 6 volumes and it's still ongoing

It was mentioned Alicia may still get punished so it's not going to be that far off from her incarnation in the LN. If the anime does season 2 they can still make it work anyway, if they don't continue it'd be for a different reason.

@@RagingD3mon yeah I know but considering that the 3 boys and yumeila took most of her character growth events away that would have instigated some kind of growth in her I could see why it happened.
Ppl said it's also different in the light novel
Apperantly, the anime follows the manga adaptation more closely, which seemingly is the one who first introduced these changes. (game's plot drive, Oz and Will more likeable, Alicia actually trying to get along with Yumiella, etc)
According to what I've heard, the Light Novel version follows pretty much the same route as the Web Novel, with the exception that Alicia, Oz and Will survive and are not killed by the Demon Lord.
I hope they give it season 2 and they add additional Yumiella series attacks like Yumiella knee or Yumiella suplex.

The Demon Lord had a right to be angry and to want retribution, but he didn't have a right to kill innocent people because of it.

(Web novel and light novel spoilers down below)
Apparently, the anime handled this bit quite differently from the web/light novels.
They should put more money into this anime
Yumelia and Patrick were true hero to save the world.
I knew he would be so handsome
After reading some comments here, i´ve come to a hypothesis or rather, how to continue the story from here:
After some time, a traveler appears in the kingdom and he want an audience with the prince, Alicia and Yumelia.

Ah so she doesnt get her neck SCP 173
I feared that day but it seems it’s not happening. Yay

The light novel and manga use this ending we seen in the anime.
Only the web novel has the hero’s team killed.
That's because idiots in the comments sections wouldn't stop conflating the ending of the web novel with the light novel.
Any novel readers here? Will yumelia stay 99 forever or will she level upto 100? Also what happen after this?
Some ppl said she later broke the lv cap and reach lv113 but it only shows the 2 last digit of her lv which is 13
So they found a way to keep what was in the novels and make it okay. Alicia got done DIRTY in the WN.
Yes . They also cut alot of scenes that I was hoping to see .
My only question is did ryu either grow out of the biting head habnit or does people just acknowledge it and it becomes normal and people who dont know freak out when they see it.
Also glad we got an alternate ending cos the real one would have been a bit dark and miserable

DARK ENDING
i wrote this ending because i hated the original ending.

THE BALD BROTHERS
I kinda dislike the final episode. Like bruh.....All they do is just enter the castle , kill the demon lord , kill some random monsters( Yumeilla could have solo'd them) and went back. Honestly I am disappointed . I actually was hoping for a bit more . Like Alicia and the three boys unleashing their full power and showing us why they are actually heros.....Like what do we know about them till the end???All the information about them was from the previous game that Yumeilla played and if not that we never saw them shine throughout the entire anime. Also I was hoping to see more of Patrick skills....like seeing what he can do after that much training as there was not much information about him... They should have made it in two to three episodes where in one ep Patrick could show his excellent leadership and skills and the other two in which they defeat the demon lord. But I think they just rushed it. In my opinion this episode is truly disappointing 😢😢😢.
Come man pal, it’s still a happy ending.
What chapter is this
Lebih Ganteng cowok berambut hitam Ganteng banget Dibanding Patrick
Indeed .
Yumiella cwaaaaaaannnn ^_^
Still kinda disappointed with the ending. The light novel ending was much more satisfying tbh. Everyone except the prince betrayed Yumiella in the dungeon and was defeated and knocked unconscious (Don’t think they died, since they also had the amulet of protection). They got their punishment later too, and were barely even mentioned in the second novel (I didn’t read further, so they might make an appearance later tho)
Also the demon lord, it would be much funnier if he looked more similar to Yumiella. This is alright too ig, but still.
Why do you think that the ending where everyone dies is the good one? Especially after the anime just finished developing the characters? Alicia, The capture targets? Especially with Alicia having a great dynamic with Yumellia?
in the novel the dungeon grind of Alicia and Yumiela was portrayed more terryfying and traumatic for Alicia prompting her to fear and distrust Yumiela on top of Yumiela being percieved as a demonic creature by Alicia but she is not a bad person, i'm not saying that red hair dude and blue hair glasses guy ( i coouldn't be bothered to remember their names) didn't need their behaviour and attitude toward Yumiela corrected but that is not grounds for execution witout trial
@@carlsonraywithers3368 , idk man, I just don’t like her lol.
She didn’t do anything, and still got all the praise.
I know that our main girl doesn’t care, but for me it’s not a satisfying ending.
I just liked the LN route better, that’s it. This ending isn’t terrible.
@@frostblitzxdkartoffelliebh6081 It's because Yumellia didn't want any praise? This was evident from the first episode, Yumellia just wants a quiet life, And Alicia needs to take all the praise for defeating the demon king in order for the nation to be stable, This was said back in episode 2, Since she'll be the future saint
It’s a happy ending, so what’s wrong with that?
2:09 me: oh no he's hot
Jolyne kills Jotaro.
I liked the web novel better, demon lord actually kills Alicia in that one.
rare novel of demon lord win at the end of novel:
And here, we get another generic anime ending...
