@@Kromaatikse I mean, it kind of almost did since his only win con was to break Yumiella's sword. Had Yumiella not cheated (though it's hard to say if throwing out a punch in a sword fight is actually cheating,) he would have won since Yumiella only has superior stats going for her, not technique or equipment (though her stats are kind of all she really needs in a real fight most of the time.)
@@homerman76he is cheating though. The rules also stated that broken sword count as loses. So having massively more durable sword has to be factored in. Even if the rules doesn't specify which sword has to be used, he's basically stretching the rules and exploit it by basically having sword-shaped hammer. Not to mention it's family heritage. Meaning it's very specific privilege of family with status
Well even if he wasn't count as "cheating" , yumiella isn't as well. The rules never specified no use of other limbs and which sword fighting style has to be utilized. Meaning as long as she primarily use sword most of the time, it counts as sword battle bcs lot of style use other body parts

I mean, he still doubled his level in a short amount of time, that's pretty impressive and proves he's trying his hardest to reach her level (even if he isn't taking the same level of risks that she did.)

No, he's saying that he managed to double his level in a short period of time and is working his way to her level, but, in the mean time, he has a national treasure to help level the playing field. Had Yumiella not punched the great sword, debatable if that's cheating or not, he would have won since Yumiella had a rather hefty handicap since her sword breaking would mean a loss for her. It's more like if that champion also has some hefty weights attached to each limb and one arm tied behind their back while the other guy has a head start in the beginning, and then the international champion wins in a questionable, yet also unthinkable, way. You do have to give him props for being the only person who can claim that they almost beat Yumiella in something (especially since Yumiella had to use her fist instead of something related to sword skills to win.)
