something i like about this and appreciate about the story you shared: you are honest. that triple exposure with the moon, it was first and foremost luck. so many people talk about how if you hustle hard you can achieve all your dreams. but that leaves out the reality that LUCK is also involved. BUT, hustle is important too. because the luck struck, but you were ready for it. you had already honed your skills through the hustle so you had the skills needed to take advantage of that ridiculous moon shot. ita a combo of hard work and right place, right time. good job Eric.
This is something I have been wanting to do and learn for years! As a kid I remember this happening on my film camera and sometimes they would be the coolest image. I finally updated my camera and can now do double exposure. Thanks for doing This video.
thats awesome. Never knew the new cameras had this! I did something like this as an experiment with a canon xti. wasnt the greatest but it got a bowl of cereal to the shape of a mini cooper. Used a toy mini cooper behind a piece of paper, and had a bowl of cereal. got my tripod set up to frame the mini and took a quick focus test. put the camera focus in manual mode and taped it so it didnt move. found a distance away from the bowl of cereal and set up another tripod there. put camera in bulb and turn off all the lights so its pitch black. hit the shutter release and strobe the flash for the cereal. then move the camera to the other tripod and strobed the flash behind the mini that is behind the white paper. Did this back in photo class. the teacher gave us a project to take a photo in a unique way. That was what i came up with.
So the picture at 1:11... Is this a triple exposure too? Tree/people sillhouettes, sky, and stars? Which picture did you take first and was it under or over exposed?
Beautiful shot, quick question: Can I shoot all my images for the multiple exposure in advance or do I have to make at least one image a live view shot? A little confused about that.
There are two lights out on the string lights which you can see in the video footage at 3:03 and in the still at 3:11. They are still out at 3:46, but at 3:49 they get turned on. This happens to be right before you repeat yourself about not having used Photoshop...which is what made me take a closer look, by the way. Also, where did the mountains come from?
Multiple exposure in-camera is where the mountains came from (I repeat that it’s three exposures in-camera, not two) and the clone stamp tool in Lightroom...
@@EricFloberg That's fair, I would've done the same thing with the lights. So, to be clear, you took the mountain shot on the same day in the same location? Or was it a carryover from a previous shoot?
Thank you.Fab image . Do you use blending modes in camera with MI ?If so, is it possible to switch from dark to light within the same est of for eg 3 images to get diffrent effects?thanks
I love it so much I tried it once and kind of forgot about it. Remembered about it today and decided to youtube it and walaaa foudn your video and it's perfect because I also have a mk iv so thaaaaaaaank youuu :D
I am facing a peculiar issue while doing this on the 5d Mark 4. When I try to select the first exposure from the existing images on my camera, it gives me a message "Only compatible images displayed', and it shows only very few specific images. I have no idea for the logic being used by the camera to show/ not show the images. Can you help me with why this happens?
Haha yeah but I only know how to select one picture (already taken) and make a double exposure right over it with live view. Where can you choose the second picture that you already took? sorry for not getting it^^
I'm so happy you did this! I found you through mango street and have loved how teach and shoot. You make it informative, funny, and fun to watch! Please make more tutorials like this
Hi, i'd like to try some double shots , but when i want to use an older image of the day my 5d mk iii tells me No image for the selection , can you help me ? great video btw
Unknown.v.isuals hmm not sure. You’re hitting that little creative button with the paintbrush on the top left part of the camera? You can also access it in your menu. If not, sounds like a default. You can send it in to CPS for repair. Best of luck!
That is a really beautiful image and I don't do photoshop either. I just have no interest in editing much but I do love challenges. I tried this for the first time and was amazed. Your video was very helpful. Thanks
My favorite part was the last bit. "Lean into what makes you different"

it honestly should have been photoshop not within

Excellent video, Eric. I pray that your channel gets the exposure it deserves.
Is this a pun?
@@hemakesstuff8053 you just brought that to my attention. It was genuinely unintentional

same here!!!! I am shooting raw @@EricFloberg
@@EricFlobergYes, I shoot in RAW.
@@hibhaven Other people are saying turn off your lens aberration correction or your dual pixel RAW if it's on. Hope that helps!
I tried that, but that is not helping.:(@@EricFloberg
Does anyone knows what is the name of the song used for the intro? is it on music bed?
What if I use 5d mark iii. Is is possible to layer more than 2 photos.. just like you did it on 5d mark iv ? Thank you..
Very nice video!
Did you use additive or average multiple shooting mode for this?
Additive!
Omfg this is awesome. I’m so excited for more videos, man!
Learning while being quarantined. Be safe IL!
Hy i couldnot select images from my 5d mark iv..it says no compatible images available for selection..can you say why?
After multiple try i got it...image should be in raw format to select from folder..thanks
Ya gotta shoot RAW!
How did you color / make this video look the way it does?
Brian Coss edited it with a LUT created from my friend's Lightroom presets: benjhaisch.com/cascade-presets/
Love this video. Man you make me so hype. I can feel your passion. Keep making videos man.
Is it also possible to overlay two already taken pictures in camera?
Yup! That's what I did in the example image in this video! :)

My Canon 5D Mark IV doesn’t let me choose creative mode... do you have any idea why?
